Located on a large grassy point just three miles north of Watkins Glen, you will enjoy a large natural wade-in beach front, New York's third largest waterfalls nearby, and a spacious yard. A long private drive shields you from all traffic above - ideal for families with children! Whether it is from the soft distant sound of the falls, the lapping of the lake, or the breeze in the leaves, relaxation mode sets in almost immediately!

A large, screened-in porch running the length of the cottage has an eagle view of the lake and the beach directly in front. It is perfect for reading, dining, playing board games, or watching the kids play on the shore or the point. Inside find a cozy living room/dining room, three downstairs bedrooms, kitchen and bath. Full-size washer and dryer, and extra refrigerator are in the attached shed off the kitchen, where stairs lead to an attic loft and more beds.

All beds have mattress pads, pillows, blankets, and comforters. Guests bring their own linens unless otherwise arranged.
Kitchen is fully equipped, much of the furniture is new. For your outside enjoyment find ample seating, a large dock, picnic table, beach bonfire pit, and plenty of lawn space for games. Lazy, sunny summer days abound, but rainy days can be welcome too! The cottage lends itself to old-fashioned fun: board games, cards, books... it has been the site of more than one kids' fort built from towels, and has hosted many a kids' play! But it also has a TV, DVD/VCR, children's movies, and books and board games for kids and adults.

Activities and Attractions:
Fish from the dock, or the bridge by the falls, ... swim, boat, kayak, canoe, or just sunbathe on your floatable on the lake or on the dock... You can bring your own boat and tie it up to our long dock (8' deep off the end), or rentals are available locally for boats, ski jets, canoes, kayaks, etc. Dozens of wineries are nearby on both sides of the lake, and don't miss gorgeous Watkins Glen State Park! Lake tours, fishing charters, a dinner cruise, local restaurants, a movie theater, festivals and concerts all beckon you.
Or hike the Catherine Valley Trail, just 10 minutes away... 20-45 minutes farther afield are Corning Glass; The Windmill (a large farm and craft market featuring Mennonite goods and crafts, 20 minutes away); Ithaca (Buttermilk Falls and Taughannock Falls State Parks, Cornell University and Ithaca College); an outlet mall; the Glenn Curtiss museum in Hammondsport; and glider rides and the Soaring Museum at Harris Hill. |
