Ski fernie and stay in town. This large home is located in the annex directly across from the Elk River. Apres ski by walking a short distance to downtown or snuggle up in the living room by the cozy natural gas fireplace. Better yet, relax on the deck in your own private hot tub. Built with European craftsmanship, this lovely home is designed to accommodate a family or large group. The separate entrance and enclosed porch allows for easy on/off ski equipment and storage.
Ideally located on a corner lot across from the Annex Park, there are trails for cross country ski lovers and snow shoeing; and in the warmer months there is premier fly fishing and rafting at your door. Fernie also has a spectacular 18-hole golf course and country club. The aquatic centre is open for swimming and comes with hot tub and steam room.
Alpine skiers can either take the shuttle or drive 10 minutes to Fernie Alpine Resort where you will find the best trails in the east Kootenays. This house has been coined by the locals as "The Lighthouse" since there is an enclosed widow's watch showing a breathtaking and panoramic view of the mountains and ski hill. Watch the sun rise and set as the mountains cast legendary shadows on their bald fronts, or observe the migratory paths of animals across the Lizard Range through the spotting scope.

Year Purchased: 2005
Mike and I lived in the Maritimes most of our lives where we owned and operated a modern dairy farm on a small cove off the shores of the Northumberland Strait. It was there that we raised our four children. We would not change a moment of our time there.
Why the Owner Chose Fernie
Our daughter introduced us to Fernie when came for a visit. We fell in love the small community feeling and big outdoor living. There is no excuse not to get out and do something, whether it be skiing in the winter or biking, hiking and fishing in the summer.
