We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 nights in this beautiful condo. It was very comfortable and accommodating. The complex was beautifully maintained and very quiet. Plenty of parking, quick and easy access to the golf, shops, food. We LOVED swimming and snorkeling at the private beach. The water was so clear! The full functional kitchen made it easy to cook and eat-in during our stay. The owners were fantastic to deal with. Thank you for opening your home to us! We will definitely recommend it to others. We had a great time at the Figgins' condo at the Golf Villas. The rental process was very smooth and communication was great. The unit was very well furnished and had everything needed to cook and barbecue. There were lots of spices as well that really helped with our meals. In addition, everything needed for the beach was there also ... beach chairs, boogie boards and even Steve's new snorkel set. Our kids realy enjoyed everything, especially the pool that was just a 1 minute walk across the backyard. The private beach was also amazing for safe water fun and a comfortable cabana. We had a great time and everything was super clean and comfortable. You can't go wrong in staying here.

Wonderful Accomdations for a Family Vacation

Our family of five just spent a week at the Figgins' condo in Mauna Lani and it was wonderful. The condo was comfotable, well kept and equipped, and located in a beautiful resort. We grilled and ate outside every day, used the exercise room and pool a quick walk out the back door, and enjoyed wonderful food and drinks at the Na Pua restaurant on the beach. We can't wait to go back. Thanks Steve and Karen!

A Wonderful Relaxing Way to Escape

Hello Steve and Karen - We wanted to thank you for a wonderful 10 days in your lovely condo. The accommodations were perfect, weather was gorgeous and we were able to completely relax. The location of your unit was perfect for us to be able to go to the pool and come easily back to the condo. The patio was lovely in the evening to enjoy a nice bbq'd meal on the built in unit, listen to the birds and enjoy the full moon that was ordered for the week. The staff on the grounds were friendly and so helpful with any of our questions. The private beach was the best we have found. We have always enjoyed the Mauna Lani resort and have stayed at the Orchid, The Bungalows and other condo properties but staying in your condo and on the Golf Villa property was truly a fabulous experience for us and we definitely will be going back. Wonderful relaxing family vacation

Our family of three (me, my husband and our ten year old daughter) stayed in this condo April 20-29, 2011. We also brought along my husband's step mother. The condo is well suited for two couples or for a family with several children as there are two full bathrooms and the guest room contains two double beds and a second television. As promised, the condo was stocked with pretty much everything we needed for the beach (towels, coolers, snorkling gear, chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, etc.) although if you drive the short distance to the private beach club you won't needs chairs or an umbrella. The condo is located on the ground level with the lanai opening onto a grassy lawn area and the pool just beyond so it's great if you're traveling with kids and don't want to walk too far for pool access. The pool is beautifully landscaped although there isn't really a deep end (probably five feet in the deepest area). The unit is well maintained and the development is quiet, uncrowded and peaceful. The private beach club has decent snorkeling and is very well protected. There is also a nice restaurant and bar and clean restrooms right at the beach club. If you prefer waves for boogie boarding, Hapuna and Mauna Kea Beaches are only a short drive away. We loved the beach at Mauna Kea and enjoyed eating lunch at the casual beach front restaurant at the Mauna Kea Resort a couple of days (not cheap). Two activities our daughter really enjoyed were an early morning horseback ride at the historic Parker Ranch in Waimea (about 30 minutes away from Mauna Lani) and the Deluxe Encounter at DolphinQuest at the Hilton Waikoloa. Mom and Dad enjoyed drinks at the nearby Fairmont Orchid! Steve, the condo owner, was very responsive and helpful both leading up to and during our stay. This was our first trip to the Big Island and we decided we much prefer it to Maui as it's much less developed and extremely low key. We will definitely return to the stunning Big Island.

Perfect Get Away

We want to go back soon as soon as we can! We were without a car for the first 4 days of our stay and weren't affected as we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings which included the pool. The condo fit the description with easy outdoor cooking, the pool just steps away and the beach club access was our daily destination once we had wheels. Karen & Steve were extremely helpful with advice regarding destinations and providing basics for a day at the beach. If you like sushi the place to eat is Monstera which is located in the Shops at Mauna Lani - excellent food and very reasonably priced. This condo destination is truly one of the best kept secrets on the island!

Terrific Kohala Condo - An Aloha Luxury Gem!

There's a very good reason that the Figgins' condo has nothing but 5-star reviews - it's a terrific value in a tranquil condo nestled amidst the priciest and most gorgeous resorts on the Big Island. The property is immaculately maintained, the unit thoughtfully decorated, and location absolutely perfect - whether you prefer lounging at the private beach club, grilling up local produce on your lanai, or just having a comfy home base from which to explore Hawai'i. We were here for the Kona-side portion of our honeymoon and couldn't have been happier. Even after enjoying the fabulously opulent (and walkable) Fairmont and Mauna Lani -- and many of the terrific area restaurants -- we were always happy to return to the unit each evening for peace, quiet, and stargazing. Steve and Karen went out of their way to provide activity recommendations, restaurant wisdom, and email updates (even after booking!) about special events going on during the week of our stay. With a gorgeous (and nearly private) pool just steps from your lanai, complementary Kona coffee, terrific golf, and easy access to countless beaches, you really wouldn't have to leave the area if you didn't want to. But, should you decide to get out and explore (do it!), the location is superb - quaint villages, coffee plantations, historic sites, and all manner of outdoor adventures are easy scenic day trips. One bit of wisdom if you're planning on cooking: while there are smallish supermarkets located very close by at the Mauna Lani complex and the Queen's Marketplace, you'll do much better with selection and pricing by hitting one of the Kona-area big-store supermarkets just south of the airport. Also, even if you're appalled by chain hotels, you have to at least stop in for a sunset drink and peek at the nearby Hilton Waikoloa, with landscaping that would put Disneyland to shame and a world-class Asian art collection liberally scattered around the property. Man-made but jaw-dropping amazing. Steve and Karen were wonderful hosts and textbook examples of how rental properties should be properly managed. Book this unit - you will not regret it!

Great Time

Hi Steve, We had a great time at your condo. We never asked ourselves the entire time we were there, "Oh I wish we had this", or "I wish we had that", everything was well stocked for cooking and for the beach. The condo is in a prime location, we thought out of all the mega resorts the Mauna Lani was the best. It is also so close to all of the other great resorts. Hapuna was a dream beach only 5 minutes away and lots of quaint shopping close by. Thanks again for working with us on our early arrival you were a pleasure to deal with. When we come back to the Big Island I will not even hesitate to stay here again. I say this after seeing most of what the island has to offer. Oh I almost forgot the pool and courtyard was so peaceful and relaxing. I only wished the pool was a little warmer, but Betsy seemed to think it was just fine. My Hubby and I just stayed at the Figgnin's condo and can't say enough good things about it. From the luxurious condo to the amazing private beach club it was all grand! A wonderful place to stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Figgin's Golf Villa. The place is new and clean with upscale appliances. Everything is there that you might need, and several markets are in the vicinity to buy groceries and yummy dinners to cook out on the BBQ right on the lanai. The grounds are exquisite, the pool area quite lovely with several private seating areas. The owners provided a great sheet with directions and recommendations for shopping/gas/food stores/beaches. The Kings Shops and Queens Shops are only 2 miles away, with upscale stores and a market and Roy's restaurant and Merrimans Cafe. You are close to Kona and stroll down Alii Drive. The Volcanos Natl Park is awesome, only a few hours drive away. A large sandy beach is nearby, as is a smaller one (Puako) hidden in the pine trees for shade. The photos of this Golf Villa says it all...you will love staying here.

Well apointed and well located, slice of Paradise

We loved all of the amenities of this condo. Well appointed and very clean. It is so nice to be close to the pool. We started a couple of mornings off with a hot tub in the pool complex which is close enough to be very convenient and far away enough that there is no noise at the condo. The pool area is beautifully designed. The private Beach Club is a great amenity. A lovely beach and well maintained grass area. Plenty of beach chairs and even chairs with beautiful blue shades make a place for everyone. The beach is super and we enjoyed walking along the coastline through fish beds and onto other hotel properties Mauna Lani and Fairmont Orchid. Five turtles that "hang" out at the dock were such a delight to see and we were treated to a whale playing just off shore on our last day. This is a little slice of paradise.

Magnificent Golf Villa

Our recent visit to the Big Island was just magnificent. The Golf Villa was perfect for our stay. This is our third trip in four years to the Big Island. We wish we had stayed here all three times. The Golf Villa community is a low density community and with that comes the much desired quiet time we were searching for in the evening after returning from our days spent at the Owners Beach (A BIG PLUS) and other visited areas. Steve and Karen, we just wanted to say thank you for renting us your unit.

The condo property is immaculate and well taken care of, from the pool to the grounds, as well as the Mauna Lani resort as a whole. We went to the private beach/beach club and the pool at the Mauna Lani resort, which was a nice variation from the pool at the villas. The condo unit location was excellent as a home base for taking day trips around the island. We loved Cafe Pesto which was located a short drive away to the north. To the south, Kona was convenient for shopping- grocery and gift shops, etc... We would recommend the star-gazing opportunity at the Science & Visitor Center on Mauna Kea, as well as a drive to Waimea and Waipio Lookout, both less than an hour away. Overall, it was an outstanding trip. Steve answered all of our questions promptly and was very helpful. We can't wait to go back!!!

Golf Condo

The Figgin's Condo is a great place. Newer with very nice furnishings and accomodations. The pool is steps away and the patio with the built-in grill was great for BBQ's in the evening. We are not golfers, but the Mauna Lani grounds are beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Having access to the private beach club was a bonus. We would go back if we ever visit the Big Island again. We had an amazing week at this beautiful condo. Great amenities, and the complex is located on a golf course. The best snorkel beach is nearby, as are the gorgeous grounds of the Mauna Lani, where you can see turtles being raised before they release them into the ocean. The owners treated us very well, and the local contact was on hand to take care of all our needs. This is our second stay at this condo and we will definitely be back. I highly recommend this condo. You will not be disappointed.
