Why the Owner Chose Lake Anna
We decided to purchase the land and build the house on Lake Anna due to its proximity to Washington DC, Richmond, and Fredricksburg, VA. Additionally, we had enjoyed visiting the Lake for several years and when the opportunity came up to purchase some land we pounced on it!

Our house is located in an alcove so is a very quiet and peaceful part of the lake. Additionally, we have invested lots of time and money into the 4-year-old house to make your stay the most enjoyable and luxurious as possible- such as all new stainless steel appliances, a gas and electric stove top, granite countertops, jetted-tub, 2 stone gas fireplaces, a unique indoor fountain and gold fish pond, and lots more!

perfect for a large group

This house is absolutely perfect for a large group. We had five families with small children (and dogs!) gathered together for a New Year's celebration. There was more than enough room for everyone to spread out, including two large and comfortable living areas. Our weekend included several elaborate dinners, and the kitchen was large and very well equipped. We didn't take as much advantage of the outdoor features as we would have in the summer, but there's a large deck, some of which is screened in, with 4 big grills... 2 gas and 2 charcoal. The hot tub was the perfect way to unwind, and the views of the lake (including those from some of the bedrooms) are really lovely. Highly recommended.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This lake house is certainly larger than it appears in the pictures. It has a fantastic lake view. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with every appliance and gadget you could want. There is an extra, full size refrigerator downstairs should you need it. The kitchen was very clean. Sorry I can't say the same about the rest of the house. I think that there is just so much furnishings (maybe too much) and decorative art and fake plants that they tend to gather dust and grime that just stays there. I am probably too picky, but the place just didn't feel clean enough for me. The owner went out of her way to make sure that the hot tub was repaired and usable for our arrival. That was very nice of her. We enjoyed using it. Lake Anna in the winter is a bit too sleepy for us, however. Without the use of the lake, there is not much to offer. We have stayed on the Outer Banks, NC during Christmas week the past 26 years, but with new infant grandkids we though that the drive there was just too far, so we tried Lake Anna. The Outer Banks have stores and restaurants open then, with some great sales after Christmas. At Lake Anna there is nothing! Most of the restaurants are closed that week. Forget about any shopping. We like hanging out as a family and playing board games and watching movies. Good thing, cause otherwise there was really nothing much to do. The owner was very responsive to everything we asked of her. The house was roomy and has a great view. the kitchen was superb. Overall I would give the property a B+.

rented for 1 week. found hot tub empty when arrived. owner didn't notify that it was broken, BUT after we let them know it was important to us, the owners did every thing they could to have it fixed. it sort of worked the last two nights. lesson learned was to read the contract, and if there's a cancellation deadline, call before that to insure any amenities you think are critical are operational. overall, it was a huge house with great lake access. fully stocked kitchen and a great back porch with a fire pit.

This house interior is beautifully maintained with plenty of room to spread out. We only stayed with our small family, but this could easily accomodate 10-14 with 5 bedrooms and 3 baths. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals when we were not using the outdoor gas grill and charcoal grill. There is a fire pit to cook marshmallows for smores on the big deck or enjoy them in the screened in outdoor eating area. Even in 90 degree weather we were comfortable outside with the breeze from the lake and the tree coverage. Inside the air conditioning worked like a charm. If you don't take my word regarding a wonderful vacation, I must tell you BOTH of my teenage daughters also had a great time. Thank you ...thank you!!

Just finished a week at the home for a guy's mancation. THis house was simply perfect. The house is MUCH bigger than the pictures let on. Right on the water, great kitchen, plenty of room. The front yards is great for games and the screened porch is one of the best features of the home in the event of rain. Highly recommended

We spent a week at the Lake House and loved every minute of it. The house is so comfortable and fully loaded with everything you would need. Our grandchildren loved the game room and the basketball court. Our entire group loved spending time on the deck since the weather was perfect our whole week.The dock and the lake are great for swimming and fishing. Jenn and Judy were always available during the entire process. We plan to return and would recommend the house to anyone that wants a great house that fronts the lake.

We have rented this amazing house for 4 nights on July 21, 2010 . The house is WOW, super clean, super comfortable just like our own place. the house is FULLY LOADED with everything you can think of. the view is amazing, deck & swimming/ boat dock is soooo great. everyone had a super wonderful time. IT worth every single penny of it. everyone in our group is strongly recommending this place , but please don't trash the house, it's very well designed and kept. I rented the house for a long memorial day weekend, The house was fantastic! Judy & Jen were incredibly accomodating, as we applied to stay at their house . The house itself was beautiful and had a great location, as well as everything we could have ever needed! I would absolutely rent here again, and intend to do so this coming summer. Overally, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great weekend at the lake! Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children. We will go there again soon ......... We have a boat and the house have a great place for boating , Fishing & Swimming. love it
