Our home in Los Balcones has one of the most mesmerizing views in San Miguel, wonderful living space including 3 patios and 3 large bathrooms plus one entry powder room..The photos on VRBO do not do it justice.... Our home can hold 7-8 people comfortably with plenty of room for privacy or 2 people can be happy with the house to themselves. the house has some of the most beautiful brick bovida ceilings in San Miguel, beautiful textiles and art.
It is easy to walk to el centro (downhill) but most people take a cab back ($2.00) This house works for all ages and a multigenerational family. One of the bedrooms is on the entry level so does not require stairs. There is off street parking in our garage.

I was enchanted with the layout of the house, with so many open spaces to look up and see the sky, ..the four different cozy bedrooms, and the abundance of inviting places to read a book or enjoy the view. ….. The decor was just delightful, with the pattern from the star lamps dancing on the beautiful curved brick ceilings, the great variety of art pieces everywhere we looked, and the wonderful use of color, beginning with the orange, purple, and green front entrance. We especially enjoyed our meals in the dining room with it's many nooks filled with treasures, and the warmth of the living room for reading, playing cards, or just visiting."
Whether you are sitting on the large terrace (partially covered for those summer afternoons with the half hour rain), in the living room or dining room, you have some of the most dramatic views of San Miguel including the lake and the mountains beyond.
We have four bedrooms (three with queen-size beds, one with twin beds), three full bathrooms, a guest powder room, a large living room, large dining room (both overlooking town), plus the terrace and patios. The light changes all day long so so matter where you are terrace, dining room or living room, or interior gardens, light is part of your life.
The layout lend itself to large and small celebrations and is also wheelchair accessible at the entry level, which includes all the public spaces and the bedroom with twin beds

- Excellent Restaurants, Swimming & Relaxing at the many mineral hot water spas located 5 to 15 minuets from town on the road to Dolores Hidalgo (taxi trip), Art Galleries, See the weekly "Attencion" newspaper in English which lists all the activities, trip to nearby Dolores Hidalgo, center of hand-painted ceramic tiles & pottery with a beautiful historic center & great market, as well as Guanajuato, a university town, set between mountains, August Chamber Music Festival in the small Teatro Peralta (past groups include the Ying, Emerson, Tokyo, St Petersburg, & Quartetto Gelato), movies, & lectures at the English language library, smaller performance events are posted weekly by the theater, Spanish classes, art classes, Yoga, Tai Chi & Bridge Classes are also available, or just sit quietly, read, & enjoy the good life in this beautiful house

Why the Owner Chose Balcones
My architect husband and his partners were hired to create the layout for Los Balcones. We fell for the incredible views as much as the developers who wanted to preserve this area with underground utlilities, open spaces and handsome public lighting and streets. We eventually built here and I love the excitement of the lights at night and the glorious light by day.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our home has the easiest and most comfortable flow between entry, kitchen, living, dining room and terrace. There is even a bedroom on this level to accommodate those who wish to avoid stairs. The circulation is great for entertaining or just enjoying family. We also have favorite pieces of folk art and accessories in our home. We love our cook's comidas with the fresh vegetables from the market and her ways with Mexican dishes.... without a lot of the oil. But bottom line, is is THE VIEW and the way my husband oriented the woindows to create different viewing experiences.
