Why the Owner Chose Ptarmigan Townhomes
West Vail was the perfect place for us. Close to everything but with the privacy and quiteness of a get-away. Plus, we love the amenities of the bus at our door step and hot tub - after a great day on the mountain. Can't beat the location - right on Gore Creek.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome
Gore Creek provides not only a scenic delight but also a listening joy and privelege - visible from every room in the down stairs and master bedroom.
Owner's Map of Ptarmigan Townhomes
I've lived in Colorado for over 25 years, I'm orginally from Pittsburgh. After all these years and countless trips to the mountains, I still fall in love with Colorado everyday. My family, consisting of my husband and 4 daughters - ages 15 through 23, grew up skiing, hiking, and loving the outdoors. We personally enjoy our home in the mountains but also love to share it with others. I go up to our "get-away" for some rest and relaxation as often as I can.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at your townhome. It fulfilled all of our needs. Comfortable, clean, well-stocked. Very convenient to Vail ski lifts. Great shuttle service (tracking bus by the minute online very helpful). Listing and photos accurate. Maureen was very prompt and helpful in answering questions. Next time we ski Vail, we will definitely request the same townhome!

We stayed at Maureen's house from 12/24/2011 to 1/1/2012 . The vacation is perfect even though there was not much snow . We loved the town house . The location was very convenient being close to lionshead village and Vail village. The bus stop was right next to the townhome so there was essentially no walking involved. The supermarket was close with use of the bus. In addition, the townhome itself was great! The downstairs living area was spacious and on prior ski trips all the members of my family would break up and go to their own rooms/areas. On this trip everyone hung out downstairs together. We comfortably slept 7 people without even having to use the pullout couch upstairs. Overall having stayed at more than 15 places over christmas holidays over last 15 years, this was the best!
Owner response:Thank you for your review. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Bear Paw (Ptarmigan #36). Too bad that the snow wasn't better - it is usually great at this time! I hope you stay at Ptarmigan 36 again. I always have the welcome mat out! Maureen

Getting to spend a week with my three children, family and friends was just "what I needed". Your condo was well-stocked, cozy, affordable and over-all perfect. Hopefully, because we all had soooo much fun, this will become a tradition. Thankyou once again for a wonderful vacation and such fabulous accomodations.

This is our second stay in this condo and we enjoy everything about it. We love the location and it's short walk to the free Vail bus (about 30 seconds from the front door). We happily cook every night in the comfortable kitchen with the provided cookware and utensils. If you decide to go out to eat, you are close to town by bus (about 14 minutes on the West Vail Red) or driving (about 7 minutes) to Vail Village. We use the provided blender to make homemade salsa and the gas grill to cook chicken, steaks and fish. We have a wood fire in the fireplace every night for a nice, relaxing time of conversation or reading. For sleeping, there is plenty of space with 2 bedrooms plus the landing area at the top of the stairs with it's loft (2 regular beds, a set of stacked bunk beds on the landing, and two beds in the loft). There are 3 baths, 1 downstairs and 2 upstairs, all with showers and 1 upstairs with a tub. The view of Gore Creek from the deck is gorgeous and, if you happen to be here when you can open the windows and/or sliding glass door or can sit outside, the sound of the water flowing is therapeutic. Having access to the Ptarmigan community hot tub in the afternoon after a day of snowboarding is very relaxing! We have stayed in several places in Vail. When we take into consideration what we get compared to what we pay, this is the best place we have found. We already plan to be back here in the spring 2011 for another enjoyable visit to Vail and this condo. Thank you, Maureen, for a wonderful place to stay and enjoy while visiting Vail!
Owner response:Thank you - I'm so glad that you seems to enjoy Ptarmigan #36 as much as we do!

We stayed at Ptarmagian with one other couple in January and had a fabulous time. Talk about convenient! Not only were we steps from the free shuttle bus stop, we were just down the road from 2 different grocery stores and some great restaurants. Maureen's condo unit was beautiful and cozy. The beds were super comfortable with ample pillows and bedding. The kitchen, laundry and bathrooms were well stocked with everything you could possibly want. Plenty of firewood made available too. We should have checked the kitchen cabinets before heading to the store because there were lots of spices and dry goods to share. We would definately stay here again.

This is a very comfortable vacation getaway home! My adult children, husband, and I had a wonderful 2-week summer vacation escape from the heat of Texas at Bear Paw. We all agree that the amenities, location, and ease of use make it a must return visit in the future. We were up and down I-70 daily. It was so easy to get to everything! Thank you, Maureen!

Our family enjoyed a very memorable weekend in the Ptarmigan townhomes. There were 24 of us that stayed in 3 different townhomes while in Vail for a family wedding. Our family stayed in Bear Paw and felt right at home the minute we walked in the door! Maureen couldn't have been more helpful in arranging the accomodations for us, including letting us host a wedding rehearsal dinner right next to the Gore River! This was a weekend we will never forget!
Owner response:Therese, So glad you had a great time and enjoyed Ptarmigan. Please come back!

We stayed during the first week of March 2008 and plan on coming back for more in the spring of 2009. The location can't be beat as you're close to the shuttle, groceries, and the highway. Plus, the creek was beautiful.
