Location: Colonia Independencia, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Central Mexico, Mexico (1 1/2 hours from Leon airport)
Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + Library, 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 7)
Keywords: Home
An architectural winner, this magnificent home offers 360 degree views of historic San Miguel, a master suite beyond compare, an elegant living room with fireplace, dining room for over 14, two charming guest rooms, large studio, library, fully equipped Mexican kitchen and adjoining breakfast nook, as well as lush gardens and two fountains.
The entire home is filled with light from huge windows. The soft colors of sage, ochre and plum move with dexterity throughout and the carefully planned lighting system cunningly highlights the home's artwork. The front garden is lush with brightly colored bougainvillea; the back garden is cool and shady with tall trees, flowers and two fountains - a perfect spot for a hot day. Or you can enjoy an afternoon drink on the top roof deck with its 360 degree views of the city and surrounding mountains.
But it is the master suite that makes your jaw drop. Described by the Home and Garden Tour as "one of the most imaginative and striking in all of San Miguel," this 700 plus square feet of luxury is located on the top level commanding extensive views of all of San Miguel. Relax in the oversize mosaic tub for two with fireplace and views or shower under one of the three shower heads along the artistic mosaic tile shower wall.
Enjoy our wonderful maid, Juanita, who is efficient, bright and can cook upon request.
Not to be forgotten is the location of the home. In our view, the "best of both worlds." Enjoy the noise and bustle of the city during the day and evening (12 minute walk to centro) but then enjoy the slower pace of the Independencia area -- the "colonia of choice" for many of San Miguel's finest artists, writers and other cultural VIPS!
