Great location at Squaw Valley
Great location at Squaw Valley
We recently spent 2 l/2 wks at this condo. It was only 5 min walk to the village and in a quiet location. The bed was comfortable and as a previous guest said, the kitchen well stocked. The condo was clean. The pellet stove worked well and heated up quickly. It was only needed a few mornings. We would recommend to others.

Owner response: I am glad you enjoyed your stay in Squaw Valley. Glad to hear that you had the chance to experience the pellet stove in the fall as you had the unusual snow dusting in September. Hope you get a chance to return again next year.

We enjoyed our stay, especially being able to walk less than 5 minutes to the Village shops and restaurants, as well as the tram. The short drive to Tahoe City was very convenient also. As mentioned in the review on your website, your stock of cooking supplies as well as an abundance of dishes and paper goods was a big plus. The condo was very clean, directions were clear and keys were easy to access. Other tenants were quiet and friendly. The two things on the down side that were out of your control were 1) the road construction in front of the complex, which will in time, be a plus I am sure. It was rather noisy and dusty during the day. 2) No air conditioning which again, is not normally an issue – it was unseasonably hot during our stay. We did buy a box fan which helped and we left it in the condo for you. Thanks again for everything and feel free to put any or all of my comments on your website. Oh, thanks for the restaurant recommendations; Fireside Pizza was excellent and Jake’s was also - delightful view of the Lake.

Great value for the budget conscious
Great value for the budget conscious
I stayed at this condo during the summer so that I could take my kids fly fishing nearby. They were taking a beginners class at the nearby Squaw Valley Resort. I was on a tight budget and just about gave up hope of finding a place that was clean and reasonably priced. That is, until I found this condo. Here are the highlights: The condo building looks old, but the unit is immaculate and freshly painted and carpeted. It's a quiet street. When was the last time you rented a vacation house, only to find the knives blunt and the nonstick pans gouged out? Well, when Marco says he has a gourmet kitchen; he really does. Sharp knives, well kept nonstick pans and oodles of kitchen equipment. If you're a gourmet cook, this is the place for you. I had forgotten to bring some coffee filters, but there was a big stack in a cabinet. Spices, sugar? It's all there. It felt just like home; cozy and comfortable. Fly fishing? There is a terrific guide at a resort nearby. Having an affordable place to stay made this trip even more special. Need I say any more?

Owner response: Very glad you enjoyed your stay at my condo, and taken advantage of the great fly fishing in the Truckee river. Thanks for the compliments about my kitchen, I keep it stocked since I often use it myself as my vacation home.

Why the Owner Chose Squaw Valley (Olympic Valley):
I have chosen to purchase my condo as a vacation home, since Squaw Valley was the site of the Winter Olympic games in 1960, and ever since has improved the slopes and lifts to make it a world class ski resort. With terrain for all type of skiers, from beginners to experts, is one of the best resorts in the Tahoe region that caters to individuals and families as well, with a great ski school from toddlers to adults.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The condo is just a short walk to the village and the Cable Car. Even with ski boots on, it takes me only 5 minutes to get to the Gondola. That way I don't have to worry about finding parking, especially on a busy weekend, or being worried about being towed during the winter months. With the convenient ski locker on the ground floor, all the ski gear is stowed away securely. The condo itself is very cozy, but it feels just like home too. The fully equipped kitchen is ideal to cook a gourmet home meal, but there are plenty of great restaurants in the village, including Starbucks too, just 5 minutes walking, where you can access free WiFi. I love the pellet stove, that provides heat and the looks of a wood stove, without the bother of smoke and having to tend the fire, just set the thermostat to the desired temperature and enjoy, and occasionally add a bag of wood pellets into the hopper. In spring, summer, and fall, there is plenty of terrain to hike, following the creek to the waterfalls, and all the way up to Shirley Lake. If you have a bike, there is a great bike path that takes you all the way to Tahoe City, just 5 miles away. There you can enjoy the views of beautiful Lake Tahoe. All together this is the best vacation home , away from home.
