Owner's Profile
Why the Owner Chose Gaylord
We are snowmobilers and we needed a place in the snow belt near the trails. This is perfect because we have kids and we dont have to ride on busy roads to get to the state trails. The local groomer is pretty visable. In the summer, we love to golf and this Gaylord location offers so many options in high quality golf courses. The kids like the community pool and lake fun. It offered the best of both worlds.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
The view is great in every season. We have a view of the middle of the lake, but are protected by a treed island two houses to the left of our property. This protects our beach from jet ski's and creates a great cove for fishing.

Very Kid Friendly!

We booked last minute for a weekend stay while in the Gaylord area for a snocross race because we had family coming with us and didn't want to stay in a hotel. It had snowed quite a bit the day we came, but driveway, sidewalk and parking area had all been cleared for us. House itself had plenty of room and was very kid friendly. Fireplace wasn't working which was a small disappointment. But overall everything else was great and plenty of things for kids (age 1, 4, and 7) to keep occupied. Also kitchen was very well stocked!

We stayed at Robertson Retreat the week of Aug 6th-Aug 13 and the entire family had a wonderful time. The sandy beach front was great for sunning and sand castle making. The shallow beach was great for the little ones to play safely. The paddle boat was a huge hit! We brought our 2 kayaks and everyone enjoyed paddling around the lake. While on the lake we had an eagle fly over and land on the little island area, what a thrill that was! He even stuck around for a photo shoot! The living room is huge and we were all able to hang out and watch tv or read on the couple of rainy days we had. We brought decorations and had a luau birthday surprise party for our niece and everyone had room to dance the evening away. We really enjoyed making smores around the fire pit and surprisingly enough we never needed the bug spray we brought. Teri was great to deal with during the entire rental process and Jeff was helpful during a problem with the dishwasher which was fixed right away. Being the large group that we were, 10 adults and 3 small children we ate every meal but one at the house. The pantry and refrigerator door contained so many food items left from other guests that we had issues putting our own food away. We ended up going to the store and buying another cooler (even though we brought 1 large cooler with us) to put away our cold foods. We had to bag up some items from the pantry to fit our own food. You also have to take a trek down the road to dispose of trash and no trash can was left to store trash until that trip. While the eat in kitchen is large, it didn't fit everyone. That didn't matter during the summer since there's a table and chairs on the upstairs deck. Could be an issue in the winter. Two other issues were we had to make our beds when we got there and wash all the towels before we left. Also, the rowboat provided was beached and so full of water we couldn't use it at all. Overall, we had a great time and want to thank Teri and Jeff for sharing their home with us. We would recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a lake front vacation rental.

My family had a wonderful time up at this property! The cottage is clean and has plenty of room for a large group. The quite beautiful views of the lake are perfect from the hammock! My kids had a blast in the lake and in the pool right down the road. (in walking distance) At night we relaxed by the fire and made somemores. Just what upnorth is all about!

My family stayed at the Robertson Retreat for a week this past July. We had a fantastic time!!!! Our family consisted of 5 adults, 4 teenagers, and 4 children. There was plenty of room for all of us!! We loved skiing and tubing on the lake, swimming in the pool, campfires, fishing, and relaxing in the huge hammock. Before our stay we were in touch with Mrs. Robertson by email and she quickly responded each time. We absolutely will recommend this beautiful home and lake to all our friends and relatives!

Our family of 10 adults and 5 children fit very well in this home. The view was breath taken, and when you sat inside you felt as if you were sitting in a tree house. The town to get grociers or put put golf is only 15 minutes away. It was a very nice vacation and I would have a friend stay here. The lake water was warm enough to swim, there was a problem with 3 of the guest getting swimmers itch. But I don't lay blame on the owners of this at all, they can't help the lake. The house was clean and well furnished with all the comforts of home. Thank you for allowing us to use the house we have enjoyed every minute of it.
