Thank you Michael, for a wonderful week at Shores Club Cottage. The accomodations were wonderful and so well appointed for our famly reunion. Beds and pillows are comfy , so necessary for a good R & R. We so enjoyed the spacious kitchen and ample room to prepare. The best part was being able to sit all 13 adults around one table. Even better to have 14 adirondack chairs for susnsets on the deck. We'll be back... Paula & Michael

House was great and had a beautiful view of Lake Michigan from a second story living room and deck. The association beach was clean and not crowded. The owner was very helpful. My family and friends had a wonderful time. There are lots of farms in the area for produce, ice cream and berry picking, Saugatuck and Holland are not far either.

Our family of eight adults and four small children enjoyed a long weekend at Shores Club Cottage. In spite of the chilly, windy, rainy weather, we had a great time and the layout of the cottage provided wonderful open spaces for our little ones to play and explore, sitting areas where we could all spread out, and beautiful views of the lake from the inside. The accommodations were great and the kitchen easily accommodated several cooks. I would agree with other visitors that it would be nice to have a larger refrigerator with an icemaker, but that certainly did not detract from our stay. We will surely consider returning when the weather is more predictable. In which case, we will all be stationed on the enormous deck overlooking the lake, leaving only for the short stroll to the beach and perhaps some food. The cottage was clean and comfortable and Michael was very helpful and prompt in his communications with us. We highly recommend Shores Club Cottage.

This house was everything and more than we expected. It has a spectacular view not to mention it is extremely spacious and well maintained. We had 8 people (3 couples & 2 singles) and couldn't have gotten in each others way if we tried to. It is a short walk (less than a block) to the beach - the house is on the lake, however, you need to walk down a road to access it (it doesn't take away from the experience at all). Actually, the road is much safer than the long staircases you see along the beach, they look extremely steep. Also, Michael is a delight to deal with. His friendly disposition made this trip even more enjoyable. We will definitely be returning!

This charming historic home is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan from the huge deck. It is filled with lovely furnishings, and is well suited for groups to gather and converse in a variety of comfortable locations. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, and the dining table can easily accommodate large groups. The owner was very responsive, helpful, and friendly. We enjoyed a remarkable week of fun and relaxation, and I would highly recommend this place to those who appreciate a lovely home with charm and character.

Lake Michigan Shores Club Cottage is awesome. We have had our annual artists girl's club (Flamingo Chicks) gathering at this cottage the past few years. It is so clean, welcoming, charming, cozy and accommodating and is very tastefully decorated. We especially like the airy sun room on the lower level. On the upper level we love the huge deck with lots of adirondack chairs and a WONDERFUL view of Lake Michigan and the sunsets. We also love the sitting room with huge windows to watch the lake in case there is bad weather. The beach access is just a very short walk from the cottage and no stairs to climb. We have a camp fire, hot dog roast and sing-a-long on the beach on one of our nights. The beach is beautiful and not crowded as it is a private beach. Michael, the owner is wonderful to work with and most accommodating if there is anything we need. This cottage works for our group and would be great for two or three families to share as there is lots of room to spread out. Huge dining room table that seats 12-14 people. Can't say about the restaurants as we cooked in every night. I would recommend this cottage to a friend or relative. Listing accurately describes this property! Lake Michigan is the BEST!! This was our second year at the Lake Michigan Shores Club Cottage and again we were pleased by the accommodations. There is plenty of room for reading, game playing, and putting together a puzzle. The upper deck provides early morning reading and views of superb sunsets at the end of the day. The large stove and dual dishwashers are very handy. It is too bad that there isn't a second refrigerator as we have to keep our drinks in coolers and need to make an ice run each day. We look forward to another year at this wonderful location.

This place is wonderful. We had three families here and everyone had space of their own. The deck to enjoy the sunset is perfect. The kitchen is set up to enjoy cooking and guests at the same time. The large stove and two dish washers are a real asset. We also enjoyed having a bonfire on the beach. South Haven is very close for shopping and there are public beaches for the young folks. The small town of Glenn is a short bicycle trip down the street and they have a quaint shop and breakfast place. We loved our stay here.

Michael, the owner, is gracious and extremely thorough. He was very easy to communicate with and very responsive to my questions via emails and calls. He also provided detailed information about the logistics of payment, things to do in the area, checking in, details about the house, etc. The actual house is a large, vintage house that has unbeatable sunset views in the back. We had 3 couples plus 3 toddlers. There was enough room for everyone to roam about. There was a great amount of space both downstairs and upstairs for the little ones to explore. The large formal dining room was nice + had a lot of seating. The bedrooms were decent sized and comfortable. The most spectacular point is the massive deck complete with ample chairs, nice grill, and perfect firepit to enjoy sunrises, sunsets, and the stars. There are little negatives about the house. One frustration was in the kitchen- some of the outlets were not working so we had to move some of the small appliances around to the working outlets. We do acknowledge that there might have been switches that we did not know about that actually turn on the outlets. The only other small negative point to mention was that the downstairs bedroom (with 2 twins) was slightly musty. Other than those minor points, we would definitely recommend this house to others. Thanks so much Michael for everything!

              Year Purchased: 1994

About the owner: Shores Club is my home six months a year. My family and I love it and sincerely hope you enjoy your summer vacation here. Since retiring from a career in Chicago, I have operated an RV resort property management business in Michigan and Florida. That business takes me away from the house in the summer time which is why it is available for rent. Most or our renters over the past 10 years have been family reunions for grandparents, their adult children and their grand children. The house is perfect for these kinds of family gatherings.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
The house has an interesting history so we have collected some informationstories from several of the families who occupied it at various points in time. As we understand it, the house was constructed in the 1870s for a fruit farmer and was located on the site of the Glenn Shores Golf Course. The building that currently serves as the club house for the golf course was originally the barn for this house. In the late 1920’s Glenn Shores was developed as a resort community and the house was moved to its current site by rolling it on logs and pulling it with mules. The developer intended to use the house as a beach club for the Glenn Shores development and poured the foundations behind the house to add a large dining room. When the developer went bankrupt in 1927, the house began to be used as a summer cottage. It was winterized and remodeled by us. Pages from the 1920’s brochure are framed and hung around the stairs and landing along with a map and renderings of the house.
