This house is all brand new as of 2006. The house offers 6 bedrooms plus a den that sleeps 2. It is a roomy house (3100 sq.ft.)with two separate units that connect with an interior stairway that can also be closed off and locked for privacy. Each unit features a grand view of Wells Harbor and the Rachael Carson Wildlife Refuge from the fully-glassed, first or second floor dining room/living room and adjacent deck. Both units can be rented separately or together for large groups.

The furnished deck also overlooks the riverside back beach, which is accessible by a few steps from the back door. A walk of less than 100 yards straight out the front door brings you right onto the beach, the nicest mile of sandy beach in southern Maine.
LARGER UPSTAIRS UNIT (1850 sq. ft.): (sleeps 9)
This unit has three bedrooms on the 3rd level with two rooms with queen size beds, and one bedroom with twin beds and a roll out trundle bed, and one sleep sofa (located on the 2nd level in the den). The house has a large living room/dining room/kitchen with plenty of windows to enjoy the wonderful water views. The kitchen has a stove, microwave, full size refrigerator, and a dishwasher. There is also a washer and dryer. The separate den, which can be closed off for privacy, is a wonderful 4th bedroom or playroom/video room for the kids. Gas BBQ on deck.

LOWER UNIT (1250 sq. ft.): (sleeps 7)
The ground floor unit has 3 bedrooms, one with a double sized bed, one with a set of twin bunk beds, plus a third with a full size bed with a twin-on bunk bed. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room. Cable TV/VCR/DVD, local phone, full kitchen with dishwasher, full size refrigerator and stove, full bath, washer/dryer and patio with BBQ. The living room/dining room/kitchen have plenty of windows so you can enjoy the wonderful water views. Please email directly for availability of Lower Unit (not listed on calendar). Parking for 2 cars (max).

The house is centrally heated. There is parking for two cars for the lower unit and three cars for the upper unit (max.). Tenants must leave the house "rent ready" for the next guests (no cleaning charge if you leave the house rent-ready).

We rented this house with my husbands family of 16. It is an amazing house with a great location. It is perfect if you have kids. It is on the bay not the ocean. The nice thing about that is you have great view, the tide comes in and out. The kids spent hours when the tide was out building sandcastles, when the tide was in they swam! At night the tide is out so you can build fires ,on the sand. The ocean is two houses up, so you can see and hear it from the upstairs floors. I can't wait to return and rent this same location! It is centrally located to other points of intreats in the southern part of the state. There is a grocery store and plaza very close. The house was clean and orderly. We meet the owners while there, they were very friendly.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.
