In the Heart of Italy, nestled between the hills of Umbria, is Citta’ di Castello, an historical city on the banks of the Upper Tiber River an on the confines of Umbria, Tuscany, and Marche.

Within these ancient city walls lies a wealth of history, that take us from the ancient Romans to the present day. Medieval and Renaissance art lends a magical air to this small town, and our home "La Chimera" is only eight kilometers away on the road towards the Adriatic Coast.

With spectacular views over the valley and a unique blend of comfort and Italian style, La Chimera offers you an escape into nature and rare chance in this modern world to spent precious time in the peace and quiet of unspoilt countryside.

The villa is 400 meters above sea level, the mountains of Monte Nerone (1500 a.s.l.) and Monte Cucco are only 30 minutes drive away, and the area as a whole is protected by Forestry Commission and is a treasure trove for walkers and nature-lovers alike.

Gastronomically this part of Umbria is famous for its truffles, one of the most noted truffle restaurant is only five kilometers Km from the Villa. The strategic position of the house allows easy accessibility to important historical centres: Within 50 kilometers are the cities of Arezzo, Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi, Trasimeno Lake, Urbino, and even closet are San Sepolcro, Anghiari, and Caprese Michelangelo (the birthplace of Michelangelo) and many small medieval towns full of artistic treasures.

With a slightly longer journey (120 kilometers) are the cities of Florence, Siena, Todi, Orvieto, and the Adriatic Coast is only 90 kilometers distance. A visit to Rome is also possible by bus or train. Only five kilometers from “La Chimera” are the ancient thermal bath of Fontecchio, a place already known in Roman times. Here the visitor can enjoy the full thermal cures, from sauna, mud treatment, hot bath to beauty treatment and tennis.

The house is on two levels and can give hospitality to ten to twelve persons. It has full central heating plus an open fire in the kitchen. It is a sunny south-facing property and every floor has a terrace over looking the valley.
