Inviting 3BR 2 1/2BA waterfront home on the beautiful south side of Richland Chambers Lake - conveniently located 1 1/2 hours south of Dallas and 2 1/2 north of Houston. Also an hour to Waco (Baylor University), 1 3/4 hours to College Station (Texas A&M), and 2 hours to Austin (University of Texas).
This fun, family-friendly custom home is situated on a very private, gated, 4 acre wooded lot, was built in 1998 and has 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Sit and rock on the front porch with your morning coffee while watching the wildlife and birds or dine under the stars at night. There is an X-Box with "Dance Dance Revolution" and a good selection of games available...or bring your own. (Or tell us and we will hide it in the closet so kids won't insist on playing games while on vacation!).
Not only do we sleep 12 comfortably, we can feed them well too! The kitchen is very well-equipped with everything you need to prepare a nice meal for your family -- or visit one of the several local restaurants on the south side of the lake. During the summer, you can even boat to dinner!
There is a large work space in the master which is perfect if you have to catch up on some work while you are away. High-speed internet on a wireless network is included at no additional charge.
For those of you with homes already on the lake, this central southside location would be a excellent extra "guest house" for your company, or for a local homebase during construction.
Dogs love it here -- and we welcome well-behaved, non-destructive housetrained ones!

Located on a private wooded lot in a beautiful cove of Richland Chambers Lake, this home offered the perfect den-like setting. We didn’t have any problems getting there because the owner sent us a detailed map and easy-to-follow directions, along with tons of local information on anything and everything there was do in the local area (from where we could purchase bait to a recommended walking/jogging route). The young bears were particularly excited about roasting marshmallows, so the information provided about campfires was greatly appreciated.
The home itself was perfect for a large bear clan of family & friends traveling together. The living area, kitchen and dining area were large enough for the entire group to enjoy at the same time. The bedrooms were roomy and the comfy beds were outfitted with luxurious linens. All in all, the house was extremely comfortable for small and big bears alike.
The amenities made this home standout from other vacation rentals I’ve stayed at. Believe me- I’ve stayed in a lot of homes! It was the BEST-equipped home because the owners have thought of everything- from toys to a rolling white board for playing Pictionary to a little picnic table for toddlers. The kitchen was perfect for hungry bears and even featured two coffee pots (one for regular and one for decaf). Bears naturally have a lot of energy, so some of us can’t handle all the caffeine!
From sunrise to sunset, our group enjoyed playing football in the yard, kayaking, paddle boating, fishing on the lake and building campfires. When we weren’t outside, we were able to relax in the spacious home and take advantage of the indoor amenities including the ping pong table, video game console, and extensive movie library. It was truly a great weekend getaway, perfect for any big bear gathering!

Hello from Cliff and Michelle Helterbran!
Why the Owner Chose Richland Chambers Lake
We both grew up spending summers at the lake....so we knew we wanted to buy a lake property for our future children to enjoy as well! We live in Coppell, Texas, and were looking for a lake that was far enough to be out of the city....but close enough for a weekend get-away. When we first visted Richland Chambers in the summer of 2000, we were sold! We bought a lot in The Wilderness on the spot...then found and bought this property in 2001.
We decided to begin sharing the property with other families in 2006, after our first daughter was born. It was not as easy for us to get-away every weekend, as it was before kids. (I'm sure all of you parents out there can relate!!). We throughly enjoy being a part of helping people plan the get-aways with family and friends!
We now have 2 little girls -- who are 4 and 2.
The Unique Benefits of this House
As we have two small children, and have traveled extensively with them....we realize how nice it is to have baby gear when you travel to new places! Therefore, our home is fully equipped with all of the things a family with small children will need while they are away.
We also realize that not everyone may have access to a boat when they come down -- therefore we make our kayak, canoe and paddleboat available for you to use to see the lake while you are here!
I know I would feel like my right arm was cut-off without my wireless internet -- so it is provided at no additional charge as well. We also have recently added satellite TV with DDR, so you don't miss your shows while you are away, and have an entensive movie selection as well.
Our picture includes our first baby....Spalding, the Springer Spaniel...who you can thank for us allowing four legged friends at our home. We understand that pets are an important part of many people's family and welcome those who are well-behaved and non-destructive. (You wouldn't want to bring them if they were, right?!)
