This recently renovated, lovely small traditional house, located in a 700 m2 private vineyard, is fully furnished and equipped. The property, situated outside the picturesque village of Apollonia on Sifnos Island, offers absolute calm & relaxation. This perfect location combines privacy, peace and a panoramic view of the nearby villages and the Aegean Sea, yet is only 5 minutes away from the center of Apollonia with its shops, restaurants, supermarket etc. An ideal spot for family holidays!
THE HOUSE:
Built of traditional stone, the house stays cool all summer. It has two sleeping areas, which can accommodate a total of 5 persons: A large room contains a set of bunk beds and a single bed, while a smaller room contains a large double bed. There is also a living room with an open plan kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. The house is equipped with all the necessary kitchen and dishware (of traditional local pottery), cutlery, towels, bed and table linens, etc.
THE GARDEN:
There is a large paved terrace at the front of the house, complete with vine-draped pergola and a beautiful view of the Aegean and the villages of Artemonas and Kato Petali; to the side, a spacious, shady courtyard is perfect for breakfast or just lying in the hammock.
The 700 sq.m. vineyard also contains oleanders, myrtles and jasmine, olive, pomegranate and almond trees, and a fig tree with delicious figs, just begging to be picked. Bay, basil, geranium and rosemary plants perfume the air and add color to the courtyard.
THE ISLAND:
Although Sifnos is one of the most beautiful islands of the Cyclades, it has yet to be discovered by tourists. Its many picturesque villages, monasteries, hiking paths and clear water beaches are very well known in Greece. The island is also famous for its traditional pottery and delicious food.
Apollonia, its capital, has lost nothing of its traditional charm. You are just five minutes away from many shops selling local jewelry and pottery, as well as clothing and home furnishing. The town also offers restaurants serving regional or broadly ‘Mediterranean’ food, and a great nightlife with a full range of cafes, bars and clubs.
Kastro with its breathtaking views and Artemonas with its beautiful traditional architecture are two villages well worth visiting.
The monasteries of Profitis Ilias and Aghios Simeon offer a panoramic view of the whole island from above. The famous monastery of Chrissopigi, built on a rock by the sea, is another must! You can swim in the crystal clear waters of the sandy beach of Apokofto, next to Chrissopigi, or visit Platy Yialos, Vathi, and Fasolou. Afterwards, lunch at any of the local tavernas found on every beach.
