Very nice little house, literally steps from the beach, and a great staging area for day trips. Santa Barbara, Ventura, Ojai, all easy drives. Rented an electric boat for a cruise in the harbor. The back yard/deck is especially relaxing. Thumbs up.

We needed to escape our termite tenting, and thanks to VRBO we found this wonderful beach house for my wife & I and our two dogs. It was perfect! Sandee made the business transaction simple and professional, just a few emails and Paypal. We arrived and immediately took our dogs to the huge beach for a run. The beach is a 2 minute walk, less if the dogs are pulling. The house was very comfortable and well-maintained, everything worked and was clean. The backyard is especially nice. The neighborhood was silent at night. We will be back!
Owner response:We are always happy to have your well-behaved dogs along for the visit. Though they are offically not allowed off leash on the beach, nobody seems to mind. They love to romp in the surf and then relax on the cool grass once back at the Hacienda.

My husband and I stayed for the entire month of September and had a great time. We had our two dogs with us, so the yard, both front and back were nice for both us and them. The house has just about everything you need. This is a great little beach cottage. The beaches are very clean and were always empty. We enjoyed walking our dogs on the beach daily. We enjoyed the farmers market at the marina every week, and the area has some very good restaurants to drive to. The owners were very nice and easy to rent from. We hope to return.
Owner response:Somehow, this little gem of a community remains undiscovered! So just about anytime is a great time to visit if you want to avoid crowded beaches. Surfs Up!

This was the perfect place for us traveling with a 2-year old and an 8-year old. It was comfortable, clean and cozy-- it felt like home as soon as we arrived. The yard was great especially with the entire property being fenced in, the kids were able to come in and out of the house on their own. The beaches were clean and uncrowded. My older one loved the waves at the beach just a block away, and my younger one loved Kiddie Beach which is within walking distance (with a stroller for the younger one, and a scooter or bike for the older one). Also Oxnard's location was ideal-- 15 minutes to Ventura and 35 minutes to our friend's in LA. We will definitely stay here again.
Owner response:Not only is the home child-friendly, we include beach toys, house toys, and a pack-n-play for the little ones. For the littlest ones, Kiddie Beach is a great beach. Come create some family memories!

My wife, daughters, dog and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming little beach house. The Hacienda del Sol is very quaint. Nothing fancy, but it has everything you need to enjoy your stay. It felt like home immediately. The backyard, while adjacent to 3 story homes (we barely saw anyone outside), was as the engraved rock says, tranquil and mostly private. It's well manicured and peaceful. We spent a lot of time out there. The Oxnard coast is a secret spot nestled between Ventura and LA. Very laid back and mellow. The beaches are HUGE, never crowded, and VERY dog friendly. The long stretch of beach had dozens of dogs off leash at all times of the day. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, this place would be great but be sure to only go with you and your significant other. The 2nd bedroom is adjacent to the master and only separated by a door. My family and I wouldn't hesitate to rent it again.
Owner response:We strive to make the Hacienda Del Sol a comfortable place to land. If you are looking for a bit of peace and quite, in a casual, comfortable home, with lots to do when you start to get restless, this is the place. Our Motto: Relax. You're at the Beach!

My family really enjoyed our stay at this house. It is real close to the beach and had everything we needed. The owners made the process very easy unlike many other managers/owners that I have dealt with on this site. The house may not be for everyone but if you enjoy the simpler things in life then this area and house are for you. (nicely located between LA and Santa Barbara)
Owner response:Because the home is privately owned, we try to make the reservation process as simple as possible. A couple of emails, some paperwork, and payment through a couple of different ways, and you are all set. Make your reservation today!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful casita! Perfect for a couple or small family with all the comforts of home. The beach is fantastic, dog friendly, with spectacular views. Neighbors very nice and helpful, owner went out of her way to make us happy. Shopping close by, but Silverstrand Beach is far removed from city congestion. Easy drive to Santa Barbara, Ojai, Malibu and Westlake Village. Reasonably priced for what you get ... will definitely go back. !

The Hacienda Del Sol was perfect for us. Our daughter who lives 4 blocks away just had a babby so we were able to be close to them but not in their house. We could walk to their house or to the beach for an early morning walk. We loved the back yard with the grass & the great grill. The house was cozy & comfortable. Our only negative comments would be that the kitchen could use a bit of upgrading and you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other bedroom. Internet access would be a plus. Overall we really enjoyed our time there & wished we could stay longer. Thanks!

The bungalow was adorable and very cozy. Lots of great living spaces with the back patio and yard plus the front porch and table/fire place area. Well kept and stocked. Everything you need to enjoy your stay. Silver Strand is virtually a private beach!

The Hacienda Del Sol made our beach trip extra delighful. Sandee's personal attention during the booking process carried through to her creative attention to detail at the house. The charming atmosphere absorbed our fatigue from a 12 hour road trip and enticed us to relax on the warm and welcoming back patio immediately. After that first evening of relaxing we naturally began and ended each day there, in the private little oasis of comfort. The home is well appointed and offers many little suprises in the cheerful beach decor. Well though out and much appreciated!Thank you for sharing your home with us---we appreciate it!! Lisa McDonald and family PS We had no pets but the private fenced yard worked wonderfully for our little one year old exploring grand daughter as well!!

My husband and I along with our 14 year old daughter stayed in this cute cottage which is very conveniently located near the Channel Islands Oxnard Harbor. The cottage was nicely equipped and comfortable. It's in a quiet, friendly neighborhood very conducive to bike riding and walking. We enjoyed morning and evening walks along the almost empty beach. If we are ever in the area again, we will be looking to stay in this cottage. Thank you, Sandee.

My family and dog loved our stay. The house was cozy and relaxing with such great decor and enclosed outdoor space. The beach was quiet with great waves for Boogie Boarding! Nearby shopping, restaurants and events. We walked to the harbor "Tall Ships Festival" and drove to the Ventura County Fair in 10 minutes. Great place to get away.

Quaint house very close to the beach. Nice area to ride bikes and take walks. Nice beach to take walks and sunbath. Channel Islands right across the ocean. Took a boat over saw the one of the islands. Kayaked in the harbor. Nice place to get away from it all and relax.

We had a great time. Quiet, peaceful and very private. Our dog says lets go again, because he had full run of front and back yard. We walked to the beach, lounged in the patio, sat on the front porch and enjoyed the cozy cottage completely.

We just stayed 7 wonderful days at the "Hacienda" - quiet, relaxing, friendly neighbors, nice shopping, interesting sites, beautiful weather and magnificent beach. We would do this again. Everthing was perfect, not too fancy but warm and homey and inviting. Spent every morning on the deck and great walks to the beach. Children would love this! We will treat our grandkids next time.

My wife and I enjoyed a winter stay in the "Hacienda". It's very comfortable and close to the beach. The neighbors are friendly and shopping is conveniently nearby. Cell phone coverage was excellent considering the poor coverage of the other Oxnard beach communities. We highly recommend a stay at the "Hacienda".

I spent Thanksgiving at this cozy cottage with my dog. It was clean and comfortable with an adorable beach decor. The back yard was such a bonus with grass and outdoor furniture to lounge on. That had to be my favorite part! The property has a nice wall and door in the front which makes you feel like you are in a private compound. Wonderful pet property, I hope to return soon.
