"Hidden Haven" in Hayward, Wisconsin with three and one-half miles of walking trails on 50+ acres of private land.
This secluded updated cabin is located on Burns Lake, one of six connecting lakes (1100 acres) that make up the Tiger Cat Flowage. It has 1400 square feet of living space and sits on 1000 feet of private shoreline. It has its own private boat launch, its own beach, complete with large sand box, a fire pit outside and a wood-burning fireplace inside (wood provided). Sitting on the swing on Pine Point and enjoying a cup of coffee as the sun comes up is an unmatched experience. Nature welcomes the dawn of each new day.
There are three bedrooms; one twin, one queen, and the king sized master bedroom has a TV, VCR and DVD player. There is a screened porch/lanai off the master bedroom. The lower level walk-out family TV room has a queen-sized sofa bed, a comfortable chair for reading, and a game table for cards, puzzles etc, as well as a VCR and DVD player. There is a stereo system with CD, radio and cassette player on the main level. Satellite T.V.
There are two bathrooms, one with a full-sized washer and dryer. Linen for the beds is furnished. (Renters must furnish their own towels.)
The galley kitchen has modern appliances: Electric stove with full oven, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, trash compactor, coffeemaker, blender, crockpot, toaster, large refrigerator with freezer--and all essentials.
"Our trails are made for walking." There are three-plus miles of PRIVATE walking trails on premises. These trails are for wild life and walking only, no other modes of transportation. We maintain these trails all summer long. You can get a great cardiovascular, and body-shaping workout (plus it surely helps us) if you throw sticks and debris off of the trails as you meander about the property. We experience eagles, deer, grouse and many other species of wild life on the property. The rewards are many.
We have nesting loons on both Burns and Placid Lakes (as well as on the other lakes of the chain). You will hear their shivering calls and marvel at their beauty. You will often be lulled to sleep with the chorus of the bull frogs. We are spoiled with the amount of wilderness surrounding us. The Hidden Haven property borders the channel that connects Burns Lake and Lake Placid to the West. The sunsets on Lake Placid rival the scenes captured by the famed artist Terry Redlin.
A 14-foot aluminum fishing boat and a fiberglass canoe are furnished with a Hidden Haven rental. The Tiger Cat Flowage, with its six connecting lakes afford miles of water for exploration and enjoyment. It is not unusual to see the magnificent bald eagles soar overhead, or observe the blue heron perusing the shoreline for dinner entrées.
NO pets, or motorized recreational vehicles allowed on the property. NO smoking allowed in the cabin.
