I can’t wait to get back to Hawaii and your home where tranquil Aloha spirit runs deep. I’ve been to Oahu about 15 times and my last trip was the best (because of your home). The living room/dining room opening up to the elements brings sweet warm air throughout the home. Your choice of warm wood in conjunction with comfortable furniture inside and out is no less than breathtaking. I will be planning my next trip to Oahu around the availability of your special home. Thank you for allowing us to experience what you have clearly thought out so well. Cheers, Jamie

We were looking for an escape from the everyday work world and found this incredible house in a gated community on the North Shore of Oahu. The floor plan gave our family of eight plenty of private space but what was the most appealing were the living areas. Not only was there a huge family room and kitchen, where everyone met for breakfast and in the evenings, but the entire wall of this area opened onto the most beautiful lanai. With very comfortable seating for everyone this was the space that we used the most; imagine being in the most incredible tropical setting and being protected from the elements; you are inside and outside at the same time. Heaven! Not only was the house beautifully furnished but everything was incredibly clean. The beds were top of the line and every family member commented on the great nights sleep that they had every night. The house has two washers and two dryers , a true chef's kitchen and an outdoor BBQ area. There were many nights that we elected to just stay and enjoy each other's company and not go out. The trip really connected us as a family again. The house was secluded and felt very private, but was a short trip to The Turtle Bay Resort and Haliewa town; both have beautiful restaurants and bars. Our favorite was the Surfer's bar at the Turtle Bay Resort. If you are a surfer or have aspirations to get in the waves, this place is as good as it gets. With Velzyland just across the cul-de-sac, and the world famous Sunset Beach and Pipeline only minutes away, this is a surfer's paradise. We would recommend this place to my family and anyone that enjoys the tropics in a clean, friendly, and very secure home. Mark & Jennifer O'Brien Laguna Beach, CA

A group of friends (surfers/non-surfers) all basically arrived at the house and proceeded to have great time on the North Shore. We rode bikes, cooked big dinners, played music, golfed, but my favorite activity was stretching out, drinking coffee and reading the e-paper on the Lanai every single day. The house and kitchen are outfitted so well that you truly do not feel the need to go out to restaurants or bars (even though we did a couple of nights). There is a farmer's market up the highway where you can buy fresh fish, produce, avocados, tropical fruit, which when you get the feel for this place is right in keeping with the vibe. Had a great time and am looking forward to the next trip - Mark

This property was absolutely stunning! Photos do not fully capture how beautiful this home really is. We rented this property for a family holiday getaway and the home was perfect for it. All the guests were blown away by this place! Thasa is amazing and couldn't have been more helpful to make our stay perfect! The decor was beautiful, the house was immaculate, and the beach out front (Velzyland) was breathtaking (literally about 50 yards from the front door). It was the most pleasant stay with no problems whatsoever. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a romantic getaway, a wonderful family vacation, or a memorable surf trip on the North Shore. We lolve this house!!

You couldn't ask for a better location to spend your vacation. Everything was just as we invisioned. Your home was awesome and very, very comfortable. Beaches, shopping, restaurants, etc. was very close by, especially our favorite...."Ted's Bakery"...it's not just a bakery but the food was freshly made and resonable in price. The property was well maintained and I would recommend this property to all my friends and of course relatives...a few stayed with us. Thank you for sharing your home.

We had an amazing time at your property. I especially enjoyed the secluded beach, your wonderful home layout, and the out door shower. Our only hickup was getting people in and out of the gate. We would recommend your property to anyone - who doesn't want to stay on the same weeks that we do when we return.
Owner response:Thanks David, I am glad it was relaxing for you and your family. We switched out the gate clicker with a new one, so no more gate problems, sorry you had a dead clicker. Let me know when you want to come back.

We stayed with several couples and loved the fact that we could eat and socialize in the kitchen/great room/open-air lanai together with plenty of room. The size and location of the bedrooms are well designed for the occasional quiet time getaways. All the famous beaches are walking distance away, but no need because of the world class beach and surf right out front. I have highly recommended this house to my friends.

We have an annual family visit to the north shore and we found this house to be the best we have stayed at to this point. The open lanai area made for easy gathering during the day for games, visiting or just hanging out. This year there was more rain than usual for June, but we hardly noticed it since we were hanging in the covered area or we would retreat to the lanai wait for the sunshine and get back into the yard or the beach. We had nine adults and a fifteen month old and we never felt like we were in each others way with the big yard and open floor plan. Our fifteen month old loved having the big yard with a blow up pool in it for playing and we all took turns swinging in the hammock. The beach is close, but not direct access in front of us, you have to walk to the public access points, they are not far, but the pictures make it seem like it is closer and the beach was great but a little more rocky than we were expecting for the area. The home is walking distance to a great bakery, Ted's where you can get good food and desert for the dinners you can prepare in the great kitchen. It would be nice if the dogs next door did not bark so much and having a code to access the gate would be easier than using the openers they provided. With numerous people coming and going we managed to misplace one, it is replaced, but a code for the gate would help avoid that. We will stay here again that is for sure, it was paradise and the home is described very accurately. The cottage in the back is close to the home, but still private feeling. My husband and I would like to come back on our own and rent that alone if it is available at times.

Our family of 11 (8 adults, 3 children) stayed at this beautiful home for a week. The house is located at the end of the block in a gated community. It is beautifully designed and furnished. We found it clean, well-maintained, and better than the pictures depict (do note though, that the view from the lanai is now mostly blocked due to new homes that have sprung up in front of and beside the house). Our favourite room is the open living area (kitchen, dining & living) that opens up to the main lanai via large sliding wood doors. The open floor concept meant we were always able to take advantage of the trade winds. This made it quite comfortable for us temperature-wise, but made napping difficult for the kids as sound also travels very well throughout the home. (As a side note, construction was in progress both next to and across the street from the house at the time of our stay.) We had everything we needed for our stay: the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and dining (we ate at the house every night), beach towels and various beach toys/equipment were provided, and the beds were comfortable. Members of our family especially enjoyed the hammocks out in the garden and the outdoor shower with a rain shower head - delightful! On our first day there was a problem with the kitchen sink and we called the property manager. He was professional, friendly, helpful and responded right away. He arranged for a plumber to come and fix the problem that same night. Our top ten list for the North Shore, in no particular order: 1. Snorkeling at Shark's Cove. 2. Swimming at Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach. 3. The doughnuts and chocolate haupia pie at Ted's Bakery. 4. The various fruit stands lining Kamehameha Hwy. 5. The shrimp trucks in Kahuku. 6. The Polynesian Cultural Center. 7. Haleiwa. 8. Shave ice at Matsumoto's (although our all time favourite on Oahu was at Waiola Shave Ice). 9. Walking to the beach every morning. 10. Hanging out at the house on the main lanai. Thank you, Thasa, for a most enjoyable and memorable stay. We hope to come back soon!
Owner response:The construction surrounding the home has been completed since August and it is all quiet around the home. There are still many ocean and beach views from both floors and Master suite

The perfect house and location for surf and a friends or family getaway! If you are looking for luxury, space and comfort-then this is the place for you. The home is loaded with amenities yet maintains an Old Hawaii vibe. Breakfast at Ted's, surf the infamous Velzyland, bike ride to Waiamea Bay, lounge with cocktails and pupu platters in the dreamy lanai, walk to the beach, ping-pong and cozy accommodations-you will dread going back home.

If your looking for a quiet getaway in a luxury home this is the place. The secluded location was a perfect getaway for all of us. The kids had so much fun going to the beach and hanging out at the house. The house has every amenity you could imagine. All 13 of us had a blast.

Our stay at the Velzyland home was nothing short of spectacular. The home itself is a work of art and much love and attention went into its design and decor. You immediately feel at eaze in the home and quickly slip into vacation mode. The Lenai is a special place to relax with family and friends and offers a view that is nothing short of seductive. To say we enjoyed our vacation is an understatement. This home offers a private setting, unparalled accomodations and a view that novels are based on.

This estate was finished in October, 2006 and it is in pristine condition. There are beautiful views of the sunset over Sunset Point and also directly to the surf break at V-Land. The house is huge and the craftsmanship meticulous. We spent a lot of time lounging on the beautiful Ipe lanai in the gorgeous hand carved Balinese furniture. The owners have really gone out of their way to make this a fabulous place, and the architecture and lay-out are excellent. The kitchen is perfectly set up to handle the needs of a couple of families, and we especially appreciated the super comfortable beds. We also really liked the privacy we had and the fact that it is in a gated community but close to the shops in Haleiwa and the golf at Turtle Bay.This house has all the bells and whistles- from I-pod docks in every room to super fast internet connections to the outdoor showers with hot and cold water, this place has it all. We thought this was a great vacation rental, and, for what you get, the price we paid was just right. If you want a vacation that is quiet, safe, extremely comfortable with lots of room to spread out and all the amenities, this is where you want to be. We can’t wait to go back!
