I'm 9 years old and my name is Noa. I had fun in this cabin. Hear are some of the things we did: We played Chinese Checkers and Chess. We sat in the hot tub. We fished in the creek and we caught 8 trouts! We went diging for gold and we found real gold! We went to a festival in Murphy and we drove a 50 year old tractor. Over all we had the best time this weakend. Thank you for leting us stay in this cabin.

Day 1 -- arrived about 2:30 & just relaxed & unpacked. The boys (11 & 10) played in the creek. We went into Murphy and got groceries at Walmart & Ingles. We were amazed at how clean both stores were. Day 2 -- We drove to some falls in Tennessee. . . . On the way back we stopped at the old fashined ice cream shack by the McDonalds. It was so good!! It's called "No Name". This evening NC had an earthquake quite near our cabin. I had no idea what it was & didn't think much of it till the owner called. We have bombings near where we live, & it felt similar to that. Day 3 -- That day started out raining, but we decided to head to Franklin anyway to go gem mining at Sheffields. The boys had a lot of fun. Afterwards we drove to see some folks; Whitewater Falls (Saphire, NC). View is amazing. We went last year but this year my husband & sons walked down the extra trails while I waited for them. We then saw Dry Falls & Causeuga Falls. Both can be seen from 64. Both of the falls are beautiful & worth the drive. Dry Falls you can walk underneath & isn't much of a walk. Day 4 -- spent the majority of the day reading while Daniel & the boys played cards. They are going golfing here shortly. Day 5 -- Went to the Lost Sea in Sweatwater, TN. It was a great day trip & the kids really enjoyed it. We then went to Bold River Falls in Tellico Plains. It was a really nice falls & right off of 165. Day 6 -- We are heading to the Natahala today to go rafting. We went yesterday so we are skeptical after all the rain of how cold the water is going to be. We had a great time & the price was right . . . Day 7 -- We went tubing in Blairsville, GA. The atmosphere was cute & some great shops, however tubing kinda boring. If you want better tubing, try Cherokee KOQ near Mingo Falls. We also drove to Cleveland, GA & went to the Cabbage Patch Hospital. I needed to get my neice a b'day gift. Day 8 & 9 -- Totally relaxing at the cabin & fishing. We caught a lot of trout the days we were here & had a great vacation. Wish we didn't have to leave. Day 10 -- Heading back home. We plan to come again next year.

Thanks for the invitation for the extra night. Unfortunately, my Father is very ill and we need to get back to Tampa. However, we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your lovely cottage. We have rested, played tourist, taken a boat trip, looked for a house in the area, and eaten at some fabulous restaurants -- especially the Chop House. \ The greatest thrill for me was having my own herd of cows across the creek. They were absolutely adorable. Thanks again.

I believe my husband & I had entirely different vacations . . . I love to relax & not do much at times (that is vacation to me & relaxing). The beauty here on this site & the sound of water . . . amazing. I was able to make use of the morning time to think & read & just BE. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to catch up on ME & the things that escape being a part of my life because "there just isn't enough time." I don't remember the lst time I read a 500+ page book but I was so glad I was able to in this week! Watching the shadows dance on the wooden floor intermixed with the rays of the sun . . . this is what relaxing is! We had a great time getting out to Cheerokee, Atlanta, Gatlinburg & some other areas. I believe our favorite unexpected adventure was Alpine Helen in Georgia . . . a must see for all of those that love Germany! I'd say it's an hour away . . . . Well worth it & Paul's Steakhouse there has all you can eat crabs for $23 a person Thursday nights. Ocoee River area where 1996 Olympics were -- Real cool! So was Joyce Kilemer Forest. Thanks for everything!

Our first day here we were blessed with a blanket of "SNOW" and it continued into the next day. With us -- our family -- living in Tampa, Flrida, we don't get this beautiful weather. This is our daughter's FIRST time seeing snow at the age of fourteen (14) along with her friend that came along on our NC vacation. This is a great start on our vacation. It has put smiles on our faces from ear to ear. We try to visit up here in the mountains of GA & NC once a year around Springtime. This is our third year up here & we always enjpy ourselves. 4/6 -- Today we visited downtown Blue Ridge to shop til we drop. They have great gift shops there. 4/10 -- We traveled to "Chunky Gal Stables" for an hour ride on some horses. We grilled some chicken & enjoyed a little bit of fishing out at the creek. 4/11 -- Took a ride into Blue Ridge for a nice dinner at "Toccoa Riverside Restraunt". . . . Great place & view of river out of this world. We really loved our stay here and hope to be here again next year.

This is the second time my wife and I have had the wonderful opportunity to stay in this cabin. Once again it didn't disappoint! We had a great time both here and away on visits. I must recommend "The Cole House" in Andrews, NC for dinner. We were very lucky to find it. When we took a day trip on Saturday the 22nd, we were fortunate to be able to visit Cades Cove via the Foothills Parkway, then on thru the Smokies (Lots of snow on the ground!!), and ending up in the casino in Cherokee. What a treat to be able to relax in the hot tub by the creek after a long day! . . . So thank you again and we'll try to bring the family next summer!

Hi "Cousin"! (No relation, just same last name as owner.) Thanks you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cabin. We have truly enjoyed ourselves! I've never stayed in a place so well stocked. It's so very thoughtful of you to think of your guests in such a way. The area here is so beautiful. I love the creek, the hot tub; well -- I just loved it all! We will certainly be back! Looking forward to our next trip and having some time together. Thanks for everything! "Cousin" Ray & Marilyn

What a relaxing, peaceful retreat for our family. It provided a great retreat for us while we visited our Grandmother. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub, creek & wonderful cookouts & ice cream made w/ the provided ice cream maker! We were fortunate to get to watch the 2008 Olympics & watch girls Gymnastics get Gold & Silver! Wow! What a blessing for us all!

The best part of our I week vacation here is that we got to do exactly what we wanted -- a whole lot of not much :). No TV, no internet, email or cell phones. We spent our time mostly enjoying nature right here at the cabin. Some time in the hammock, some time in the hot tub, some time enjoying meals out on the deck, some time fishing and even several walks up and down the creek. For those after us that brave the frigid waters of the creek, make sure you have water shoes -- even then, many of the rocks are extremely slippery. For those that try some trout fishing -- less is more! Small hook, your basic worms from Citgo or Walmart, a few split shot sinkers and you're all set. That will catch everything in the stream. There are a few good holes but the best by far is around the tree others had mentioned. Most of the trout were 6-8 in but aren't worth the effort of eating that small. I did catch one that was 16 in right under that tree -- quite tasty! I did learn that fileting is NOT the way to go. Just regular cleaning then fry him up. Once cooked, the skin will easily peel away, then use a fork to pull the meat away from the spine at a 45 degree angle toward the tail and most of the bones will stay with the spine. Still be very careful as there are about 100 fine bones that easily detach and hide in the meat. . . . All in all, we had a great time enjoying the cabin, the surroundings and each other. There was plenty to do for the whole family and one of only a few vacations we could truly call a "vacation."

What a piece of paradise this is!! I set up a jigsaw puzzle on the deck and sat out here each morning listening to the brook. What a peaceful place! The cabin was perfect. We used it as a base to explore the surrounding mountains. We visited Joyce Kilmer St. Park, Cade's Cove and went rafting down the Naatahala. We also enjoyed dining at Shoe-Bootie's! Don't miss it! But our best moments were here at the cabin relaxing and playing board games with our children. We will long remember and hope to return to Grandview Valley.
