Paradise... and then some
Paradise... and then some
As long-time renters of this wonderful home, I thought it would be both prudent and timely to extend a firm thumbs up to any interested family which may be considering the opportunity to take advantage of this rare and truly unique property. Our recent stay in late June/early July was nothing short of exceptional (as per usual) with spectacular weather, stunning views and ease of access to all amenities (including groceries, liquor and ice in Naramata). With three relatives joining us from Ireland, we made a point of bragging this home up well in advance of our arrival and they certainly weren't disappointed! They appreciated everything this home has to offer, including the spaciousness, decor, large deck/umbrella, air conditioning and of course the relaxing pool. The owner, Graham, and his caretakers (Clint & Lisa) always go out of their way to ensure our stay is an enjoyable experience and are open to any and all suggestions regarding effective ways to enhance the property. An example of this occurred during our last stay in 2011 when we noticed the absence of an umbrella on the exterior deck. All it took was a brief comment to Graham and two hours later he returned with a brand new umbrella, much to our unexpected delight. Our only concern this year related to the lack of window blinds in the upstairs bedrooms and a growing need to update the kitchen, including the cutlery/pots and pans and dishes - a suggestion which Graham appreciated and indicated would be addressed to better meet the needs of future renters. As experienced renters in the Okanagan, we have stayed at several other properties. None of these, however, have compared to the outstanding quality and exceptional service provided at this beautiful home. It's that commitment alone which keeps us coming back year after year!

Great place to bond with grand-children
Great place to bond with grand-children
Our daughter and son-in-law were the main renters of this property, but we shared it along with them and our two grand-children, aged 4 and 2. We had a fabulous time. The pool was the centre-piece of much of our fun, but the spacious bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms certainly helped with our enjoyment. The property has a great spaces for outdoor dining - the lakeview deck is perfect for breakfast, and the orchard "back yard" with its seating under the walnut tree provides shady dining for whichever meals you choose to take there, although morning coffee in the peace and quiet of rural Naramata is a must. The house almost has a split personality (in a good way), in that it is Okanagan lake at the front and orchard country-side at the back. The place was very well equipped with good linens, including luxuriously large pool towels, copious kitchen utensils, including plenty of china (pet peeve of mine when there is only enough for one meals-worth). Also Graham provided lots of different kinds of outdoor seating that could be moved around to take advantage of time of day, including little adirondack chairs for kids (so cute). This place has been well set-up for the comfort of guests - we liked that it was a real country house in which a family could feel at home and not be freaking out about white carpets. The location was excellent for our purposes, and all of us got several cases of fabulous wines to last us through the long, long wet Vancouver winters. Bravo to our hosts!

Owner response: Thank you very much for your kind review. We are thrilled that your Family enjoyed the house so much and hope you that will be back again soon. Many thanks and warmest regards, Graham.
We have returned to this property with our teen and adult children for several years, and always find we have a great time. The photos are completely accurate. The kitchen is well appointed, the BBQ is spacious and of high quality, able to handle a big meal. The views from the house are fantastic, and the pool is a great treat. There are lots of wineries nearby, some within walking distance such as Lang's with their great Marechal Foch. The KVR trail can be walked or biked to pretty quickly, and the Naramata Creek park is a hidden gem. We always enjoy delicious pizza from Real Things Pizza - unique and tasty selections! During our stay the cherries on the property were ready for picking, and we found them yummy. We'll be back!

Family get away in wine country
Family get away in wine country
Hi all, Well, what a great house, setting, view and ameneties. We were left wanting nothing. This house provides for the perfect family get away and we highly recomend it. - Everything you could want is avaliable in the house. Kids loved TV in everyroom, internet and cable, pool, kids family room with view and blinds for day-time movies, the deck, the flat grass for sunbathing, comfy couch's, and large open rooms. The pool! Wow. Perfect. (not heated - but who cares) the kids spent hours in it (plenty of towels) The view is amazing... Naramata general stor only min away and wine tasing even closer! (You will need some Therapy!) Clean? - You betchya! It was spotless. Airconditioning was easily controlled. loved watching the Quail run around - especially with all those babies! - Only small issues... The dining room table had only 6 chairs and we were 10 people, however the outside round (awesome) deck table had room for ten easy (and awesome wood patio chairs) - Great for Dinners outside, games, lounging with wine and cheese... - what a view!! - One bedroom with a bunk and a single bed was a tad warm and we could not open the window and blinds. Sure this can be easily fixed. - Our bed, master bed room, had some sort of, I think it was maybe "memory foam" top to it and we are used to a firm matress. Tended to cause me to twist and turn and gave me some morning pain / uncomfort. Not a biggy, but just to note if you are used to a firm mattress. Overall, we would rate this five stars easy and will be coming back one year for sure! If you are looking for tranquility, with something for the wholw family, you will not go wrong - highly recomended. Brian and Monika

Owner response: Dear Brian and Monika, Thank you for taking the time to submit such a kind and constructive review. We take our Guests holidays very seriously and do our absolute best to insure that the house is well equipped, clean and comfortable. Thank you for the feed-back on the mattress. My wife likes it, but I agree with you - I will have it changed . The blinds in the Kids Room have been disabled for safety reasons, but the window should open. We will address this before the next Guest arrives. The pool is heated by a solar blanket and most years it is toasty by mid June. I am sorry that this year was an exception, but glad that the kids enjoyed themselves. Again thank you for taking the time to give us a pat on the back. I will pass it on to the team. Many thanks and warmest regards, Graham.
