Bath apartment description
The apartment is within The Royal Crescent, considered to be among the greatest examples of Georgian architecture to be found in the United Kingdom. Built between 1767 and 1774, It is a grade I listed building and is situated at the heart of the World Heritage city of Bath in a tranquil with no through road. It is surrounded by interesting museums and galleries, award-winning restaurants and bars, lovely shops and boutiques. The apartment is perfect for a cultural city break or a very special romantic getaway or family adventure.
The courtyard apartment offers peaceful and luxurious accommodation with original Georgian features. There is a private sunny courtyard and a glorious expanse of lawn.
The large living and dining room with sash windows and shutters, overlooks the sunny, south-facing courtyard. There are glamorous hand-silvered mirrors and an unusual Dutch hanging chair to which children and book-wielding adults are drawn! There is a TV and digital radio with i-Pod docking station. A dining table with painted floor rug seats four to six people and there is wide selection of books and games for both adults and children.
The neat vaulted kitchen has an induction hob and electric oven, a large fridge, separate freezer and a dishwasher.
The entrance lobby contains the fridge, larder shelves and a large drawer for shoes. The romantic master room has a double bed situated in a large alcove off the main living space with a sumptuous goose-down duvet, a curtain for privacy and an incredible Belgian headboard.
The second room is situated beyond the kitchen in a cosy white-washed vault with a large opening window/door onto the courtyard. It has a stone floor with under floor heating and feels quite magical.
The incredible bathroom also has a stone floor and an enormous double-ended cast iron bath. There is a separate shower and private w.c. and huge stone wine shelves with their original painted numbers.
The large lawn on the other side of the cobbled road is shared with other residents of the Royal Crescent and is accessed through a locked gate opposite the hotel. This area is invaluable for exercising children but please be considerate to the other residents and always remember to lock the gate when you enter and exit. No barbecues are permitted on this lawn or in the courtyard.
There is a flight of stone steps down into the courtyard and several small level changes within the apartment making it unsuitable for those with restricted mobility. There are large gaps between the uprights of the external handrail which is potentially dangerous for very young children unless you are prepared to remain extremely vigilant!
Visitors parking permits are not available in the central parking zone of Bath however you will be able to drive your car up to the apartment to load and unload and a long-term car park is available a short walk away in Charlotte Street car-park.

We had a fantastic time. The apartment is beautiful and the location perfect for exploring such a wonderful city. Close to many of Baths recommended restaurants (we ate at The Circus just 2 mins away!) & just a short stroll from attractions and shops. The apartment was simply stylish with many lovely personal touches. Spending time in was as delightful as going out! We loved the chic bathroom and the cocooning sleeping area. We have already recommended it to many friends for the combination of simple, sophisticated style and peaceful relaxation in the heart of this remarkable city. We are are busy planning our return. Thanks for a reviving time.

About the owner: I am a 37 year old mother of two little boys. I was born and brought up in England although I have spent various years working here and there around the world. I trained as an architect at Edinburgh university and now have my own design and interiors business. I bought my apartment when I moved to Bath 4 years ago and it has been a testing ground for my strange and wonderful ideas! It continues to evolve as I design new pieces of furniture or rethink certain areas. It is impossible to stop! I have been renting the apartment out to holiday makers for just over a year and happily the responses from my guests have been unanimously delightful!
Why the Owner Chose Bath:
This property, though humble in scale, is situated in one of the most magnificent and uplifting buildings of Bath! It has a large south-facing courtyard at the front and sun streams into the apartment all year round (providing there is sun outside!). The living room and dining room is a big open plan space with white painted floor boards and smaller, more cosy spaces leading off it. The decoration is sophisticated and fun with Georgian antiques and bespoke modern pieces. It is above all a home to be enjoyed.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The apartment is right in the centre of Bath surrounded by rich cultural and decadent delights, however the apartment is extremely quiet due to it's situation opposite a large private lawned area which guests may use. There is no through traffic and you can step out of the apartment and be in a boutique shopping street or renowned restaurant within 100 yards one way or on the golf course 200 yards the other way. It is ideally placed to have the most fulfilling and wonderful stay you could wish for in Bath.
