Our Two- Carmel by the Sea- Cottages provide "Old Carmel Charm" and are just waiting for someone that wants that quiet, relaxing vacation. They are tucked away among the oaks and pines of Carmel Woods. Both are darling and quaint, and just a short 7 block jaunt down to the "heart of downtown" Carmel, where you'll find lots of shopping , beautiful art galleries, and fine eateries. Then, just another 5 more blocks down to the beaches of Carmel to view the waves, surfers, play in the sand or just watch the people!

Our QUAINT FRONT COTTAGE, considered "Heritage" was built in the 1940's and offers the beautiful character of hardwood floors, open beam ceilings and welcomes you with lots of windows, fluffy area rugs and a cozy wood burning free standing fireplace. The living area is provided with extra sleeping accommodations such as a double futon (sleeps 2) and a pull-out sofa (sleeps one). The adorable old style kitchen offers all the modern conveniences such as gas stove, full refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and is fully equipped with all cookware, bakeware, dishes and utensils. The cute dining area is set up to seat 4 people. The master bedroom is quaint, providing a comfortable queen sized bed with a beautiful silky/down comforter, an electric cherrywood fireplace for the rooms own private warmth, a dresser and small walk in closet plus fluffy area rugs on the hardwood floors...a nice whispy feeling. The bathroom is provided with fluffy towels and cloths and a full sized bathtub with shower. Also provided in the front cottage is a full laundry room with washer and dryer, plus ironing board and iron.

Now, you can walk out the back door onto the large wood deck, with tree's growing through and ordained with pots of flowers, a gas BBQ and patio table with seating for 4 (or more) plus an outdoor heater for those cool quiet nights... When you just aren't quite ready to go inside .

Just steps away is the back DARLING STUDIO COTTAGE (originally built for a writer), that has that piney-country-cottage feel. Fresh greens, blues and yellows decorate the white daybed and trundle bed underneath. These can be kept as single beds or made into one queen bed. The studio also is equipped with TV/DVD, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and a small place to dine. It comes with a full bathroom and shower, fluffy towels and rugs. Magical and darling as can be!

The area here is very quiet with lots of oak and pine trees and even a hammock, for your relaxation! The neighbors are friendly but quiet as well. We will allow "quiet" pets upon approval. Children are welcome, a park and tennis courts are located just down the tree lined road.

Our cottages are perfect for two families, a family with children, or perfect if you want to be alone but allow friends to come and stay, providing privacy for both. We will provide more photos at your request.

  • Our stay here in early May was our 2nd visit and we enjoyed ourselves again, everything we hoped for in a quiet relaxing get-a-way. The neighborhood is quiet, and full of charming homes. The cottage furnishings are well thought out and comfortable. We enjoyed fires in the wood burning stove, grilling on the barbecue on the back deck, walks to Ocean Avenue and the beach. Our dog had a great time on Carmel's dog-friendly off-leash beach and playing in the backyard at the cottage. We also enjoyed a nice drive down through Big Sur on Saturday. It was an enjoyable relaxing time away.

  • This is our 2nd visit and we can't wait to come back again! The location is even better than I thought; such a scenic area, close to a beautiful beach, and all the quaint little Carmel shops. The cottages are nicely decorated, peaceful, and very, very, comfortable. We enjoyed the barbecue out on the deck, and making a cozy fire in the wood burning stove after a hard day at the beach! We also enjoyed all the DVD's, magazines, and brochures of nearby destinations, sights, and restaurants. The only problem was we could not do and see everything that we wanted too!

  • Comment Text: Loved it! Very comfortable. My children (ages 5 and 9)loved the cottage in back as it made them feel they had their own home. They even slept out their by themselves. I jogged into central Carmel each morning which was about 20 mins away on foot. The run is excellent due to some hills. The street is very quiet and peaceful. My family and I will be coming back to the "Two Cottages"
