Guest Comments: We don’t want to leave! It’s been a wonderful little getaway! Cottontail Cottage is first class; it’s the first cabin that we’ve stayed in that wasn’t furnished with used stuff and hand-me-downs! Warm ambiance, great view and lovely accommodations. So glad we found you and can’t wait to return. Thank you, Ann, Barb and Sherri, Orlando, FL
Oh, what a wonderful week we spent here at Cottontail Cottage! We immediately felt at home. The fresh air, the natural sounds and the friendly people. That’s just like the countryside in Germany, where we grew up. On the days the sun was shining we went out for long hikes. We especially liked the Chatooga River. The Sandy Ford Area with Dick’s Creek Falls was our favorite. We didn’t care about the rainy days as long as we knew that we could come back home, take a hot shower, and cook a wonderful dinner. There is still a lot left we have to explore. Hopefully we will have the pleasure to return to Cottontail Cottage. Thorsten, Sandra & Sophia, Key
More Guest Comments: As fate would have it, we have had a memorable weekend at Cottontail Cottage. We experienced the incredible scenery, really amazing! It was also a treat to sit on the front porch and do nothing! Thank you for being so kind and we will also treasure our time here at your “little piece of heaven.” Barry and Joanna, Myakka City FL. What an amazing cottage-the pictures don’t do it justice!!! We found comfort, peace….and a calm quiet we haven’t had in a long time. You guys thought of everything-we felt pampered & we can’t thank you enough. We’ll definitely be back & I’m sure we’ll be sending others to enjoy the same experience we had! Thanks again! Cheryl & Chris, Brian & Tricia, SC
Gorgeous! The maples are just beautiful this time of year and ending the day with a roaring fire is perfection. We love the antique lanterns and all the extra touches- it’s obvious how much care and thought went into this place. What a wonderful retreat – Thank you! Ann & Marc, Atlanta, GA
and still more Guest Comments: Thank you very much for letting us use “your little cabin” to help us celebrate our 39th anniversary! We were very much impressed with your hospitality & your concern to make sure we had everything we needed. We will be coming back & will recommend your cabins to others. Hope to see you soon! Cecil & Barbara, GA
Sure glad we found you! The cottage is beautiful & I have never seen any place so clean – neat and well decorated. You are delightful landlords and we really enjoyed our stay. Mary & Dick, FL
Thanks so much for a lovely relaxing stay. We especially enjoyed the calm of a grilled dinner on the porch after our whitewater rafting trip. We’ll definitely be back – maybe next time with the kids! Perry & Cindy, Lexington, SC

My family and I had a marvelous time at Cottontail Cottage in the Valley. We stayed two nights in April for a wedding we attended at Chota Falls. The entire cabin was spotless and very comfortable. The rocking chair front porch was incredibly relaxing and the views there were spectacular - from the mountains and cows in the distance to the birds and chipmunks in the yard. It was very centrally located to Clayton and came with a long list of recommended restaurants and activities. It was also close to Black Rock State Park (less than 1/2 mile), where we walked with my toddler one morning to throw rocks in the lake. Peter and Debbie are wonderful hosts and I can give them a glowing recommendation!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family and I are avid travelers and have never stayed in a home so nice and well appointed. The home was immaculate and had everything you would ever need during your stay. The owners are very attentive and obviously love making others feel welcome in their home. We'll definitely be back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

Our family comes back every year for over a decade! It's our home away for home. Our daughter & son now 11 & 15. talk about Cottontail Cottage months in advance and for several months after our 2 week stay. The home is always immaculate and they even have little necessities (and big ones) like plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and baggies so you don't need to bring or buy just to cook or save your food. There's a blender for those smoothies and a barbecue on the deck with a beautiful view for a delicious cookout! It's typically 6-7 degrees cooler at the house than in town ( just 3 minutes down the mountain and to the food store). We always have a guessing game on what the temp will be at the cottage on our way up! It's turned out to be a fun tradition Even after coming back so many years we always find something new to do or see. The location is perfect about 20-30 minutes to endless possibilities... Hiking, whitewater rafting, boating, swimming, waterfalls, zip lining, and more. Well as you can see we just LOVE Cottontail cottage. We usually stay at the one in the woods but we've stayed in both and they are equally as warm to our hearts and comfy! I hope your family gets to enjoy Cottontail Cottage too!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We loved everything about this cottage from the screened porch to the comfy beds. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated. The livingroom was comfortable and cozy. The best part was the "outbuilding" which is actually a lovely self contained cottage behind the main house. We traveled with my elderly parents who stayed in the "outbuilding". They loved it! Plenty of paper products and cleaning supplies on hand. Debbie and Peter think of everything including fresh flowers and cookies that were still warm! Can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Peter & Debbie, Thank you so much for opening your cabin to us. We were so impressed with the cleanliness and beautiful furnishings. It was better than being at home. We hope to be in this same place the next time Warrior Dash rolls into town. We have rented many vacation homes and this is by far the most equipped.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

A BIG thank you to Peter and Debbie for a wonderful getaway weekend. It could not have been any better and your cabin is just wonderful. Better even than the photos! The cookies were delicious and the flowers so pretty on the table. All of us had such a great time there and my grandson had his first pony ride this weekend. Miss Meg's was sooooo good we didn't eat breakfast in at all. Best biscuits I have ever had. Grilling on the porch with filets from Ronia's was FANTASTIC. I only wish time had not gone by so fast. Next time we will stay longer and see more. Your cabin made this trip one that my son and his family will always remember. And of course, we will too.Thank you again and God Bless..Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

My family of four stayed in the cottontail cottage in the woods. This is not a sparce rental cabin, Peter and Debbi went to great length to make the cabin a home. This spotless is in the woods a couple miles outside of Clayton. We snow tubed in Ski vally, spent a day at Tallula Gorge and just drove the mountian roads.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
