View from behind Condo Complex to the ocean
Location: Tamarindo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, Central America (Sunrise Condos, 50 min. from Liberia International Airport) View Map
Accommodations: Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-7)
Keywords: Condominium
Very central to the beach (about 30 seconds away), and the most popular tourist destinations in Tamarindo and some of the most popular places in Costa Rica.
Comfortably sleeps up to 6 people with approximately 1,250 square feet (116 square metres). We can help to rent other condo units in the same complex or throughout much of Guanacaste, as well as near Quepos.
There are two private bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed, a fair size closet, a view overlooking the pool, with a partial ocean view. There is also a sliding door out to the spacious private balcony. There is also a master ensuite (private washroom).
The second bedroom has a queen size bed. It has a private door leading to a bathroom that has a 2nd door which leads to the kitchen/family room area. Two bathrooms, both of which have a toilet, sink and shower. The shower in the master bathroom is larger than a typical stand up shower and could be used for bathing young children.
Full kitchen, including fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker to enjoy some fresh brewed Costa Rican coffee. You can local coffees within a couple minutes walk of the condo.
The kitchen has most of the other things you would typically use, such as, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, glasses.
The owners are from Canada, and have they have traveled to Tamarindo without experiencing any sickness from drinking the water. There are many people from the US and Europe who also live in the area and have not experienced problems with the water. We won't guarantee you won't have a problem but with tourism being the main industry in this area they appear to have installed some decent public water purification.
The family room has a 43" Samsung Plasma TV with a Cable TV connection. You will be able to receive both Spanish and English television. Washer and Dryer on site. Basically all the amenities of a typical North American home/condo.
We spent three weeks looking at real estate up and down the North West Pacific Coast and around Quepos (Manual Antonio National Park) of Costa Rica before purchasing this condo.
We purchased in Tamarindo because we found it to be the best blend of being able to do the various eco-tours, surfing, beaches, restaurants, golfing.
We purchased at this condo complex because it was so central to everything in town. Once you arrive you don't need access to a vehicle unless you are leaving town. It is easy to hire a taxi. The condo is about a 50 minute car ride to the international airport in Liberia, and just a few minutes drive from the national airport in Tamarindo.

Why the Owner Chose Tamarindo
We originally looked to buy in Portrero Beach about 20 minutes north. On the trip down to look at the Portrero property we stayed in Flamingo Beach. At that time (2006) we personally found that Portrero and Flamingo, while the beaches are nice, didn't have much to offer in the way of amenities. To do much other than laze around the beach we needed to constantly go to Tamarindo. We ended up spending an extra $100,000 to get our place in Tamarindo because we loved the location, across from the beach, and within easy walking distance, 90 seconds from the condo to the beach, or a 1 to 10 minute walk to most restaurants, stores, tour companies, in town.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Our condo corporation has a free (with passcode that you get when you rent) wi-fi connection. However, with Internet up time not be great in Costa Rica we've purchased our own connection private wi-fi connection as well. While we can't guarantee up time, between the two connections up time has been good lately. For people who need to do a bit of work, even if you don't book with us, ensure you've got a back up connection.
Our property manager's office is onsite. This is helpful for booking tours, or those rare occasions when something in the condo breaks. "Pura Vida", the Costa Rican slogan for Enjoy Life is a great laid back culture, except for when you need something done now. Our property managers have a more professional work ethic than most other companies we've dealt with in Costa Rica. You as a guest also benefit from this in many aspects of your stay.
In our opinion, other than a beach room at Hotel Diria (which can be costly), you can't get a better location in town to enjoy Tamarindo.
Our condo is nicely sized for 6 to 7 people at about 1,200 sq ft. A lot of other developments in the area tried to do 2 bedroom places with 900 sq ft or less and that can start to get cramped after a few days (so determine the size of the place you are renting).
The Sunrise Condos have one of the biggest onsite pools for a vacation by owner type community.
Our huge balcony with a great pool view.

We love, love, love to travel. This is our 4th vacation rental property. Laurie manages our mini vacation rental business and does some visual merchandising contracts for retail stores. She has an eye for making 'things look pretty' which is why we often get such great comments about the decorations, yet comfortable feeling of staying, at our properties. Larry is a detail oriented person who does contract operations work for Internet Companies. He is also a serial entrepreneur and sits on the boards of a number of companies. Laurie and Larry are looking forward to the day all their properties are mortgage free and they have enough passive income to be able to freely move about their properties and around the world. With their freedom to work from anywhere with high speed Internet they did manage to spend 25% of their time in 2009 traveling while working.

Loved our stay at Sunrise #6. Really enjoyed the location - the beach just across the street, the swimming pool, internet, well equipped kitchen - a perfect home away from home. Enjoyed morning coffee on the patio overlooking the pool, listening to the howler monkeys and the sunsets in the evening. Very well located - close to grocery stores, restaurants and the beach. Staff were very helpful. Many tours of the area can be arranged. Condo is spacious, comfortable and secure. We look forward to a return trip. Info on "What to Pack" really helped plan our trip and the weather was perfect.
Owner response:Thanks for the feedback Noreen, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We strive to make our condo a home away from home and it is nice to see that we have succeeded. Larry

We had an amazing time in Costa Rica!! Larry and Laurie were a pleasure to deal with, answering every question we had. The condo is beautiful and had everything you could ever want while on vacation - I really appreciated the blender!! Very roomy and clean. It is just steps away from stores, restaurants, surf shops and of course, the beach. It was also a very safe place to be. This was our first time in Costa Rica, but certainly not our last!! We will definitely be back! PURA VIDA!! :)

A great location in the heart of Tamarindo. Close to shopping, restaurants, tour guides and right across the street from the beach. The condo was great, both the unit itself and the grounds. We loved sitting on the balcony in the mornings having a leisurely breakfast and overlooking the pool. The owners and the staff in Tamarindo were very helpful. It is a great place if you just want to go and relax. But also a great place to explore and take an adventure. There is all kinds of wild life to see, from sea urchins, star fish, sand dollars, crabs, all kinds of birds, lizards, monkeys, all within walking distance of the cono. And even more to see if you take one of the many tours offered. When we got back home I couldn't wait to show off my pictures and tell eveyone what a great time we had. I have recommended the place to family and friends and can't wait to go back myself.
Owner response:Thanks for the feedback. Costa Rica is a lot more natural than North America. The beaches in Costa Rica are like they were in Canada/USA a couple hundred years ago where you can still see a crab, or other wild life at the beach.

I stayed with 2 other girlfriends at The Sunrise Condominiums for a week. It was spacious and clean with a large terrace, and in the perfect location – right across the road from the beach. It was so convenient we didn't have to worry about lugging a day's worth of stuff every time we went to the beach. We could easily return for lunch or to pick up anything we forgot. The pool was clean, the staff friendly and having security was nice. We took a number of tours while there, all arranged through the property manager. The condo was close to all amenities and we had dinner out a few times within close walking distance. Tamarindo is a lovely town with friendly people, most of whom speak English. If you like surfing or want to learn, it's the perfect place.
Owner response:We love the location for the exact same reasons. In fact, we don't rent a car when we stay at the property unless we go on a major supply run. We almost bought at a more remote beach about 20 minutes away but we had trouble booking tours, getting a taxi, finding restaurants within walking distance, from that other beach. The town of Tamarindo had the best selection of amenities in the area by far for a beach town. Our condo complex is built as close to the beach as it is legally possible to build since about the mid-1970's.

I stayed at this condo with four of my friends and we had an amazing time. The condo is right in the center of town and pretty much right on the beach. The place is spacious and has a nice kitchen. The Sunrise Condominiums has a very nice swimming pool and a guard at the gate. We felt very safe and we could walk everywhere in town. Larry and Laurie were great homeowners to work with and Angelica the property manager is very nice. Great place to stay and enjoy Tamarindo!
Owner response:Thanks for your kind words. Larry

We rented the Tamarindo condo for our 2009 Christmas vacation. The unit is very well constructed and kept extremely clean. It is a second story apartment with a view of the pool. In the morning we would sit on the patio drinking our coffee and watch a family of monkeys playing in the trees nearby. It is right across the street from a nice beach and you can hear the waves crashing in the morning. It is very centrally located so it was not necessary for us to rent a car. I would highly recommend this unit and plan on renting it again on our next stay in Tamarindo.

This condo was great! I'm 23 years old and traveled with my girlfriend and three cousins and was floored by the condo. The pictures acurately show the condos location. There was plenty of room, it was clean, and the complex was beautiful. It is located in a quiet area right in between many restraunts and shops with beach access right out front. Whether you have a family and want to sit poolside or go to the beach this condo is a fabulous choice. A plus is the plasma tv and very friendly owners
