My daughters and I spent a week at the Maderia Beach cono. The condo was clean and very spacious and the pictures provided were exactly how the condo looked. The location was great with John's Pass right up the street. One area of weakness was the kitchen which was lnot equiped with many utensils and cooking pans. We didn't have a can opener, but the office staff got us one within the day it was reported. We also didn't have any potholders which were never supplied. It would be nice if there were some beach chairs, the one there was ripped and not able to be used. The owners supplied a list of restaurants, shopping centers and activities in the area and this was very helpful. We had a great time and will definitely consider returning.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We originally tried to book this unit but it quickly became unavailable. Kathy was kind enough to help us book another unit at this resort. The distances from all the landmarks were just as described. Check-in and check-out was quick and hassle-free. The property was clean. The pool was smaller than I expected and visible from the main road. However, the main focus of our trip was not pool time so this did not really matter to us. Madeira Beach was a short walk directly across the road. John's Pass was also a short walk away where we ate lunch and dinner, shopped and saw dolphins as well as many pelicans. Clearwater Marine Aquarium where Winter the dolphin lives was a 30 minute drive. We went to Legoland which was about 1&1/2hrs away and Busch Gardens which was about an hour drive. St. Pete's Beach was a short 10 minute drive. Several Publix locations are nearby, about 10 minutes away. If you're looking for a nice mall, International Plaza near the airport was about 30 minutes away. Should our travels take us back to the Tampa area, we would definitely return.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is most appreciated. We hope that someday your travels bring you back to the Tampa/ St. Pete beaches!

we really enjoyed the Madeira Bay Resort. The accomodations were very nice with all amenities. Overall very quiet facility especially on the harbor side. We especially loved fishing off the sea wall and docks. It is in a great location near everything you need to enjoy your getaway.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Fishing is our second favorite thing to do while visiting the Gulf... eating it is for sure the first. Nothing beats a fresh caught fish dinner and many restaurants do "hook and cook"! We are delighted that you enjoyed yourselves and that you felt at home.

Our family of 4 stayed in this unit for a week in March during peak period. We were more than pleasantly surprised with the condo unit and facilities. The unit itself was very clean, well updated and cozy. It is not over-sized, but for most vacationer's needs, it is perfect. Seating was ample and comfortable, and the kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked with basic supplies for our needs. The view of the marina from the sliding patio door and balcony was lovely and serene. Morning sunrises were always a pleasure. The balcony has 2 patio chairs and a small table, and can be comfortable enough, but the neighboring balcony is very close with no privacy available. The resort itself was also kept very clean and its appearance was updated enough. Staff were always available on the 2nd floor, and were courteous and helpful. The pool area was was well cared for, and did appear a little larger than the photos suggest. Still cozy, but never crowded at the times we ventured there. The 6th floor 'Sunset Room' did offer a terrific view of the Gulf and housed a modest, but very clean workout room. Internet in the complex is offered free, but isn't terribly quick, and was somewhat spotty at times. A petty quibble, and possibly our only bellyaching we could offer about the facility. Beach access was directly across the street, on a beautiful stretch of gulf sand. It is a less crowded stretch of beach than some in the area, which may suit crowd-phobic types. Peak times still saw many people enjoying the sand, but nothing like the Clearwater or St. Pete's beach crowds. One of the reasons we chose to stay at this property was not only the resort or gulf beach (which both were wonderful), but also, the close proximity to the John's Pass area. Within a 5 minute walk, we were able to enjoy the fun tourist trap of knick-knack shopping, boat tours, surf-shops, ice-cream vendors and the many restaurants that are offered in John's Pass. You really don't have to use your car after your initial grocery supply shopping (also very close by), as the terrific selection of pubs and restaurants within the area are all walkable. Lastly, we'd like to thank Kathy (owner) for the caring and helpful personal phone calls and emails we received from her. We would not hesitate to recommend this condo and facility to others, as we experienced a wonderful family vacation all around.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: What a nice review and you covered every aspect so accurately. I am delighted that our accommodations met your expectations and that you enjoyed your time on the beach. Regarding the internet connection...I am guessing a call to the front desk may have solved the issue. Both my husband and I are often working while down there and have not had any issues. I do know that Brighthouse had some problems up and down Gulf Blvd. that perhaps that was at the time you were there. Thanks again for your input. It is much appreciated.

This is a well-kept and modern property. Our condo was nicely furnished and very clean. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, appliances, and other useful items. Our view from the balcony was of a tranquil marina and the beautiful Maderia Beach was but a short walk across the street. There are plenty of things to see and do in the area. St. John's Pass is within walking distance. There you will find lots of stores, restaurants, a floating casino, and places where you can sign up for deep sea fishing, etc. A great Publix grocery store is a quick drive away in Treasure Island.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I love the view as well. There is always something different to see both day and night. It amazes me how active the fish are at night. You can hear them so well while sitting out on the balcony. I hope your stay was restful and relaxing.

This is our second year at this condo. It is everything described by the owner. Very comfortable, clean, close to John's Pass (about a 3 minute walk ), Ocean across the street, staff super freindly and helpful. You are about a half hour from sooo many fun things to do, Dog track, horse track, boat rides, sponge village, food truck rally last Friday every month , drumming on the beach ( awesome fun), flea markets, shops! ! ! Owner very helpful with local informtion, condo decor pleasant, comfortable, everything you need available ! Have recommended to many ! ! Great place ! ! !Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

From the minute we checked in (well, actually pulled into the parking garage) we knew this was going to be a great vacation. Easy parking, extremely easy check-in (and check-out), and when we walked into our unit - all I can say is it definitely has the WOW factor! New furniture which is wonderful, great view of the marina and bay with some of the most perfect sunrises ever. If there is any down side at all, as another reviewer mentioned, there is little storage space for food, etc. in the kitchen - but definitely not that big of a deal. It's advertised "Location, Location, Location" - and it lives up to it's claim. We had been to this area a few times before, but never close enough to John's Pass to walk - and that was such a treat. Parking there is so horrible, and what a joy to not have to worry about that. If you've never been to this area, I highly recommend it. A particular favorite was the Florida Botanical Gardens not too far away - free and absolutely amazing!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for taking a few minutes to write the review. Guests find these very informative. I am in agreement with its location as my husband and I will very often walk to the pass in the evening and it is much more enjoyable not having to fight parking. As much as we like the sunsets over the gulf I don't think they can compare to the sunrises over the bay :). We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hearing from you in the future.

We spent a most enjoyable 3 weeks at Madiera beach. The condo was well furnished with comfortable furniture. The kitchen is a little short on storage space, but it was very well supplied. We absolutely loved the view of the boats and activity down on the bay ( I have lots of pictures of the crab fisherman directly below the condo and his daily trips out and back). The beach across the street is very nice and has great sunsets. The St. Pete area has lot to see and do, much of it free. The resort is staffed 24-7 and was very helpful.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.
Owner response: It was so nice to be able to meet you while we were down on the beach. I also enjoy watching the "crabman" as well as his dog. There is always something new to see either at the marina or in the water. Glad to hear that the new furniture is comfortable. I look forward to your return.

This was our 4th time in this unit at Maderia Bay Resort. We love it here because it is always very clean and the grounds are also kept very well. It is a very family friendly place to stay, with lots to do near by. There are lots of great places to eat, either within walking distance or just a short drive away. It has a beautiful pool area that is always clean and the pool is heated, which makes it quite enjoyable. If you are looking for a place to vacation with or without family, I would highly recommend this place.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It is such an honor to have you return for your 4th time. I am pleased that you can call our condo your home away from home. Before long I will be asking you for helpful hints along the beach :)

This accommodation is set up very nicely for enjoying your time in Madeira Beach. All you need to bring are your beach toys and you are ready to go. The fact that there is a site office is a plus, but the owners are very responsive to any needs as well. John's Pass has all the tourist attractions, but if you go a bit in the other direction, you also have the Conch and Salt Rock Grill as eating options. Thanks to the owners for sharing their bit of paradise!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car
Owner response: It was our pleasure to have you stay with us and hope that our condo felt as close to home as possible. We hope your home renovation is complete and that you are happy with the results.

Me and my family decided to try spending more time at the beach this year vs spending more time at the amusement parks. Madeira Bay Resort was wonderful. Our condo(408) was very nice and comfortable. The views of the Bay were very nice and it was nice to sit out on the patio and drink my coffee in the morning. John's Pass was just a short walk away and we went there every day. We took a Dolphine cruise, which was really fun and my son took lots of pictures of the family of dolphines swiming next to us. The beach was right across the street and we went there every morning after breakfast. This is by far my favorite beach vacation so far. This Condo had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. Kathy thank you so much for your things to do info packet we had a blast and my family still talks about our trip and can't wait for next year!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: I look forward to hearing from you again next year! We love the location as well!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful condo with my family! Myself, my husband, our daugher, son-in-law and 9 month old granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed our stay over the 4th of July holiday. While my daughter's family rented another unit, our condo was a very comfortable size for the two of us and also provided a small second bedroom perfect to accomodate a port-a-crib. I was slightly concerned about the craziness that the holiday would bring the area but we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and quietness that your condo provided when a good night's sleep was necessary for a baby after a long day swimming and boating! Kathy was extremely helpful and friendly in helping us with our reservations and tips for the area! The beach is never something you can get too much of and this was perfect allowing us to also dock our boat at the marina. Hope to visit again soon!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I am so glad that you were able to secure a spot in the marina. It is such a convenient place for anyone with a boat. Also happy to hear that everyone had a good time and that the condo met your expectations.

It was in a great location-2min to beach and 3 min to John's Pass. We barely needed our car for whole week! Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend a stay here. I would try to get a unit on the Bay side though as the traffic was a bit loud on our deck. Overall a fine place to stay1Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

This is our second year at this property. It is very modern and feels as close to home as you will get on a vacation at the beach. The kitchen makes cooking home cooked meals easy and convenient. The washer and dryer is located in the room so you can go home with no laundry. Everything is very clean throughout the entire building. The walk to the beach is quick and worth it for the quiet atmosphere you get when you return to the condo. We vacation with several families that we know so it is nice to come "home" to the condo away from everything and have our own time and space. The area is very safe for kids who are old enough to walk to and from John's Pass. I'm pretty protective and I feel fine letting them go back and forth. However, John's Pass is a fun place to be so I'm usually down there too. They have something for everyone. If your kids do need a walk to and from, it is close and not a hassle to walk them down and go pick up. We get groceries on the way in at WalMart or a grocery store and then you have everything else within walking distance once you get there.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We love repeat guests and hope you make this your yearly trip. Sounds like your children are like mine and love spending time at the Pass...as do we! Thank you for your kind words

We were pleased with the Condo and the staff.Check - in and out was easy. We loved walking to John's Pass every night !! So much too do ! The view of the Bay, Marina, birds, from the terrace was beautifull. The Ocean just across the street ! great spot if you are a beach person. We went to Drumming on the Beach Sunday on the Beach, Food Truck Rally , Dog Race Track, Beal's for shopping !!! Great restarunts, Screwie Louie's, Freindly Fishermen, Carraba's, Dockside Dave's, we were out and about that we never made it to Lattitude's ! ! On the down side I was disappointed in the Pool, it could be bigger, especially when the Kid's are in it. We also would have liked a bigger bed, king size, we are tall and I never gave it a thought. We would recommend for it's convenience to soooo much !! All the information given us was helpfull and usefull. We loved the walk in shower bathroom !!! Hopefully when we get a date for next year we can get something here.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.
Owner response: Wow you kept very busy! I am so glad. Hopefully, if you call early enough next year you can stay in my condo, we just got a new king size mattress :) It was a pleasure to meet you and I look forward to hearing from you in the future. Kathy

It is so close to the beach, just a two minute walk and the pool overlooking the marina is great too. We definately will be going back, don't think twice, it is the perfect vacation area and resort. Had a real good vacation in Florida. Sat by the pool, visited family and friends, ate good food, walked the beach and enjoyed the sunsets over the Gulf. Madeira Bay Resort was perfect for us all the way around. It is in the best location for strolling the streets, sitting by the pool and walking the beach. Great to walk for ice cream in the afternoon and dinner in the evening. The condo we had wasn't large and with 3 men traveling together, we'd have really preferred 3 beds, but with one on the sofa it did work out. Gratefully he slept through the TV news, and I'm the one who has a sound machine to block out any other sounds. So I took the room with no windows. YIKES. I bought a night light! Glad to have the washer/dryer handy but it was in the (closet) room with no windows that I slept in so that made it sort of humid and stuffy to sleep. We needed a dining table, but we had bar stools by the sink and stools that were too tall (wrong height) at the island. It would have been easier playing cards by a table for us. We really liked having the recessed balcony. With the winds, it enabled us to sit out there and enjoy the Florida temps. Had we been hanging off the side of the building on an extended balcony, we could never have sat there. So we thanked God for our recessed balcony most days. The air conditioning was great. It kept an even temp and we never heard it. We really had a great time. No complaints. Just compliments on the resort. Alex at the Desk was outstanding. He is kind, knowledgeable and helpful. He made it a pleasure to "do business" with the place. Very professional and pleasant. You would enjoy Madeira Bay Resort too.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Sounds like 3 men had a great time celebrating a 60ish birthday! The Madeira Bay Resort has several sizes of condos, 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom with den ( many are converted into a 2nd bedroom) and 2 bedroom condos. The best way to get the size and location you prefer is to reserve early. I am glad that you all enjoyed your vacation. It was a pleasure to find you another condo and hope that on a return trip you stay in #408. Kathy

My husband and I loved our visit. The unit is beautifully situated overlooking the bay and the morning sun was terrific on the deck. The kitchen was well outfitted and met our needs. We were close to everything and within walking distance to Latitudes, a pub style eatery, and St John's Pass with its' many shops and restaurants are just a few steps away. The beach is super accessible across the street. My only criticism is the queen size bed in the bedroom. It is in need of replacement. Also it would be nice to have a note saying that the sand chairs and umbrella were tucked in a corner near the hot water tank for future guests. We never saw them while looking and would have enjoyed using them at the beach. The pool was a nice alternative. I would recommend this unit to a friend and return myself if the bedding is updated.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and apologize for forgetting to tell you about the beach chairs. I have put in a call to our manager for mattress replacement. I knew that you would just love the location and the view from the balcony. We look forward to hearing from you for a return trip.

We had a great time at this super location. The pictures were accurate. Everthing was so convenient and it was nice having the washer and dryer in the unit. The 24 desk people were knowledgeable and very nice too. Plan on a great time. The gulf is sooooo close and enjoyable. The sand there was actually like sugar. Nightly sunset pictures were a must.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I agree there is nothing like the powdery sand in that streach of beach as well as the sunsets. It just doesnt get any better. Thank you for your kind words.

My wife and I stayed at the Madeira Bay Resort, for six weeks starting in mid-January, 2012. While we rented directly from the owners, we were given excellent service by the building manager,Travel Resort Services. Our condo was exactly as pictured on the site - - modern well-equipped, kitchen with new appliances and granite counter tops, extremely comfortable king size bed, tastefully decorated and comfortable, clean furniture. Booked as a 1-Bedroom, we also had a den with bunk beds. We had the inter coastal waterway view and enjoyed it immensely. We spent a lot of time on the balcony looking out on a waterway watching boats and kayakers come and go. While we didn’t see any of the manatees said to come into the marina, the view was peaceful and quiet, yet there was always something to see.? The pool was disappointing. It is pretty small, and right on the road without a barrier wall. No big deal though, because the beach was about a five minute walk away. ?A short walk across Gulf Boulevard left us just 100 steps from the beach. The beach was not crowded and the white, velvety sand was raked daily and free of debris. The unit was well equipped with a washing machine and dryer and the kitchen had everything we could want - blender, toaster, wine openers, bottle openers, ice maker, dish soap, dish towel, wine glasses, etc. You name it - they had it. The location is a couple blocks north of John's Pass Village and on Gulf Boulevard which made getting around very easy. There a bevy of great restaurants no more than10 to 15 minute drive away. Parking was ample with the first level of the building an open parking garage with plenty of generous-size spots. In summary, we couldn’t have happier. Great location, great service and excellent accommodations make for a holiday to remember.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Kathy and the staff of Madeira Bay went out of their way to make sure my stay was great. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in this area. The condo was very clean on arrival and the photos accurately described the property. Was great being so close to the shops at Johns Pass. I would stay here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Brian: So glad that you enjoyed your stay and that it met your expectations. It was a pleasure speaking with you had I hope on your next trip you return to Madeira Bay Resort #408!

From the time of booking to our departure everything was wonderful. We appreciated the easy access to the beach and the ability to walk to our meals or make meals at the condo. The building was quiet and just what we were looking for. Kathy was a delight to work with and extremely helpful in giving us information about the area. I would definitely stay here again!Owner response: So glad that I could help you out and that you had a good time! Hope to hear from you in the future.

This is an excellent place to explore all the beaches at San Petersburg have to offer. The place is quiet, close to the beach, a few steps to the swiming pool and one block from "John's Pass" which is a large unique place full of stores, bars and restaurants for the whole family. I was there just two weeks ago, and really felt very confortable. The weather was perfect and the building staff was friendly and always polite. My two boys (15 and 14 years old) enjoyed the place as much as I did. It has a complete kitchen and washer and dryer, which helped with the food expenses and give us more time to relax, and to decide what to do. We look forward to the next summer to go back to Madeira Beach, or sooner!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Ricardo: We are so glad that you had a wonderful time and that you thought the accommodations and location were perfect. I just knew that your family would have a good time. We look forward to having you as our guests in the near future.

We stayed in this property in July 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The resort is only a few short steps from the beautiful beach, and this unit faced a serene harbor. John's Pass Village and Boardwalk is within easy walking distance and offers tons of entertainment options; wave runners, dolphin cruises, parasailing, fine dining, and loads of shopping choices. Kathy, the owner, was super helpful and took time over a holiday weekend to make sure my reservation was secure. Thanks for a great "mini-vacation!"Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Cindy, I am so glad you liked our "home away from home"! It was my pleasure to help you plan your trip and make your reservation process as easy as possible. It was easy to do, as we are passionate about the Madeira Beach area and as owners we want you to have a wonderful experience. We look forward to your return.

This place was absolutely perfect! We loved staying here, loved our balcony view and the walk across the street to the beach and John's Pass. Me and my son stayed here and my sister stayed in the building in another unit. It was alot of fun. The owners were great about giving us info and where to go to eat and what to do. The place had everything you need, we really had a great time!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The vacation was great and your condo was a big part of it. I am so glad you sold me on Madeira Beach. It was definitely our speed. Relaxing, not too crowded, very nice people everywhere we went. It was a great time. We were very impressed with the condo and had a lot of fun just sitting out on the patio people watching in the afternoon or evening. The marina always had something to watch, be it a young boy who always got overly excited when he caught a fish, a guy canoeing with his poodle, or another guy who would either feed the cranes and herons or run them off depending on his mood. The beach was great. My 4 year old fell in love with the beach, both the sand and surf. She was a natural. Our soon-to-be 2 year old liked the surf, but wasn’t so sure on the sand yet. The heat would also get him cranky. Our routine was usually go in the morning around 9:00am, stay until about 12:00, head back to the condo, wash off at the pool/ eat/ nap/ sit on patio enjoying cocktails, then head to the pool in the evening. We did go to Clearwater Aquarium one morning and the kid's thought it was so cool to see Winter the Dolphin "who is going to be in that movie". We then hit the beach that evening to watch the sunset, and that was a nice time. On our way to the car the morning we had to leave, our 4 year old got teary eyed and pouty and I asked her if she was sad to leave Florida and she said yes, she wanted to stay for good. We said we would definitely come back sometime and she said “I want to come back again when I’m both little and big.” So I think the clock will be ticking on mom and I. We already have said when we come back, we’ll stay at Madeira Beach again and hopefully be able to stay at your condo again. Thanks to you and Wayne again for granting us the privilege to stay there and your hospitality. The staff at MBR was great and very helpful. Thank you for making our trip wonderful and we really appreciate all you did. Sincerely, EMRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We just returned from a week long stay at this condo. The condo itself was clean and comfortable. It was the perfect location for us. A short easy walk to the beach and a beautiful view from the rear balcony. You can also see the beach from the lobby on the 4th floor. We made several trips back and forth to the beach with no problem. The view of the bay from the balcony was lovely and we enjoyed sitting out there in the evening watching the boats and the birds. We took the short walk to John's Pass every evining where we shopped, ate, drank and listened to live music, all on the water. We were glad we could walk because it did not look like there was much parking space. There were two other restaurants next to the condo which made it easy for breakfast . It was a short drive across the bridge to Treasure Island for groceries and more restaurants. Overall we had a wonderful vacation and would go back in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Mike and Lynette, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay. It is always nice to hear from our guests and we look forward to having you as our guest in January at our Southbeach Property. Have a great summer, Wayne and Kathy
