This cabin has fantastic views of Mountaintown Creek from every window. The river is so clean and crystal clear that you can see the Rainbow Trout swim right up to the rocky shore. If your love is fishing, this place is for you! Mountain Town Creek is ranked as one of the best Trout Streams in North Georgia. From the many porches, you can hear the rushing river as it splashes into the ancient Indian "TROUT TRAP" right below the lodge. Enjoy all this as you and your family roasts Marshmallows around the large OUTDOOR FIREPIT area overlooking the river.
Located in beautiful Ellijay, Georgia, it is a scenic 90 minute drive from the Atlanta area, which provides the perfect weekend vacation getaway. The Coosawattee River Resort is a great community offering an extra layer of safety and convenience from the 24/7 gated security. There are amenities galore including three outdoor pools, tennis courts, weight room, indoor pool, and much more. Tubing inside the resort along with the many parks and recreational areas provide lots of activities for kids and adults alike.
Luxury sleeping accommodations include TWO MASTER SUITES with oversized King Beds decorated in the latest styles from POLO “Ralph Lauren” and Pottery Barn. Both Master bedrooms have access to private decks, one with a stacked stone outdoor fireplace and the other with a cozy swing for two. In the Terrace Level we you’ll have a plush Queen bed with an amazing view of the river.
The Large Kids Room has three sets of high quality bunk beds and connects directly to the game room which includes a Full sized futon of its very own. Upstairs in the loft are two Queen sized deluxe futons with fluffy overstuffed mattresses and luxury linens. If you really have a crowd, open up the leather sofa in the living room to add another Queen sized bed to the mix. This lodge offers the ultimate in luxury accommodations and provides room to comfortably sleep up to 20 people. If you need more room, we also have a similar sized lodge next door that can be added to host larger events.
Come spend a weekend or longer in our log cabin and feel the cares of everyday life slip away. Soak in the seven person HOT TUB while you watch whitetail deer walk by for a leisurely drink in the river. Relax in the porch swing while a hawk makes lazy circles above you or play a few games on the FOOSBALL table with the family. At night, pop in a DVD or enjoy a movie on the home theater with the 42" BIG-SCREEN TV and six-speaker surround sound.
If you can tear yourself away from all that relaxing, there are plenty of things to do in the area, including all kinds of lake and river water sports, hiking, mountain biking, antique and crafts shopping, scenic drives, and golf.
There is abundant wildlife in the area, including rainbow trout, black bear, whitetail deer, beavers and wild turkey. Our Georgia mountain cabin offers privacy, peace and quiet, and cool mountain breezes, and is just minutes from the shops and restaurants in Ellijay and the Blue Ridge area.

We rented the cabin at last minute Feb 9-12. My wife, 2 children and adult family members. Owners are responsive and awesome to work with. Place easily sleeps 20. The cabin was perfect and has tons of room. We have stayed in the Blue Ridge area a number of times, but the river in front of the cabin is the best. Cabin pictures are dead on and I could not fathom anyone having an issue renting this place. It is close to stores and restaurants yet there is no one around you. Deer were everywhere and caught trout everyday. I am already contacting the owners for a return in the summer to really enjoy the river. These are great owners to work with! You will not go wrong!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

We had a grand time at the Trout Lodge this past Christmas. It was enjoyed by all in our party...we loved it sooooo much, we are planning on coming back to enjoy all of the amenties that this place offers. It is well stocked, all you have to do is bring your food and you...everything else is provided. It has enough space for 20 people (we didn't have that many in our party) ...so if you have a large group they will all fit comfortably.

Remote Cabin deep in the woods of a private, gated nature preserve community. Absolutely gorgeous views of fall colors in this area during the time of our stay... breathtaking drive to/from/throughout. Cabin is spacious and has everything you need to stay as long as you like/need, with access to grocery stores and all modern restaurants/ammenities not far down the road (if you need that kind of thing). The river is awesome and you enjoy constant sounds of water flowing over the rapids that sounds like a small waterfall. Owners were great to work with. Trout fishing in the river was great fun and a real challenge, but we caught the grand-daddy of the river... dont worry, we put him back for the next folks, if you can get him! :) Loved everything about this vacation and will definitely be back again!

We really had a great time here. The river is very beautiful and relaxing -- a great place for pictures! The location is very close to the Apple Festival site. You can go and come back fairly quickly. We enjoyed staying at the house so much that we didn't even venture out to the resort amenities. The house had everything we needed, so we definitely overpacked -- but that's a good surprise! Make sure to visit the public library if you are a reader. They have a very nice used bookstore where you can find "like new" books for $.25-$1.00.

We stayed at the property in July and had a fantastic week of fun, fishing and relaxation with family. Everyone caught fish, including bass, bream and creek chubs, but no trout. We think the water may have been too warm and they had traveled to colder portions of the stream. Several of the bass were rather large and the kids had a fantastic time bringing them in. The cabin had everything we needed and the best part were the huge bathrooms and many porches with river views. Overall, we had a wonderful time and recommend this property for family fun. Amy and family were always very gracious and helpful with answering questions about the cabin and things to do in the area. Thank you for making our summer trip one we'll remember for a long time to come.

I've rented 20 cabins through the years and this is the best one we've ever stayed in. Not only did it sleep my 14 people; it had enough, plates, forks and glasses to serve everyone!! The kitchen had every tool that we needed, the beds were comfortable - even the futons. Loved the place and I hope we are lucky enough to make staying at the Trout Trap a tradition.

We stayed at the Trout Trap Lodge for 4 nights and only wish we could have stayed longer. This cabin is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous decor and every possible amenity you could think of. The kitchen was better stocked than my own kitchen, and a gourmet chef would be pleased with the quality & selection provided. They had 2 large master bedrooms, each with its own porch, and a large bathroom next door. The whirlpool tub was just wonderful! Both beds were so comfortable & soft, (once again, more than my own home), and decorated with beautiful luxury bedding. They truly thought of everything! My favorite spot was the back porch off the 2nd floor bedroom. My daughter enjoyed the hammock and I thorougly enjoyed lounging in the chair listening to the sound of the river. The deck is covered and 2/3 surrounded by trees...1/3 overlooks the river.. That was just awesome!! We didnt make a fire, but they even have a fireplace on this bedroom deck!! My kids enjoyed kayaking in the river. We ran out of vacation before we got a chance to fish or do the river tubing. This place has all the luxuries of high-end resort, with the feeling of secluded rustic river cabin tucked away in the mountains. And yet you're only 10 minutes away from shopping...which was very convenient!! Trout Trap Lodge is incredible. My family highly recommends it!!

What a BEAUTIFUL cabin and surroundings! Definitely a place of solitude and relaxation. It is so well-built, furnished and decorated. Our stay was definitely not long enough but we will return!

We had wonderful time between friends over the weekend. Beautifully decorated, this lodge was a great place for our reunion. Our main interest was to fish over the river right by the house, but we could not catch due to the weather, not even at the river or the fishing pond in the resort. However, The Trout Trap Lodge offered relieve with its great amenities, counting a powerful home theater system, hot tub, gas grill and entrance to the indoor pool and basketball courts of the resort. You will be surprised by the amount of wildlife in this secluded area.
