Location: San Francisco (San Pancho), Nayarit, Mexican Riviera, Mexico (45 KM from Puerto Vallarta airport) View Map

Accommodations:  Villa, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.25 Baths (Sleeps 12-14)

Villas Susana consists of four open air buildings which are perched on the ocean bluff overlooking your own private sandy/rocky beach below. Your family/guests will have their choice of: the second story Peacock Villa with its own living room, the centrally located Iguana villa just one building up from the living room villa, and for those who really want to be close to the waves, the lowest villa, Butterfly, enjoys vistas of Pelican Rock to the north, as well as your own beach below. The fourth villa is the very large kitchen/dining/living room.

All three bedroom villas have two double beds, rock mosaic floored showers, toilet, sink, and generous closets. The living room villa has plenty of room for eating, drinking and playing, and includes a lit deck should you decide to spend the night outside under the stars. There are 1800 square feet of covered living area, plus multiple decks. The buildings sit on 3/4's of an acre in tropical jungle foliage; all with spectacular ocean views.

Sit up in your bed and watch the boats and whales go by, drink margaritas while in the pool on one of several large decks and watch the sunset, or just laze in the hammock and listen to the ocean waves. Bring your fishing equipment and catch your dinner on the beach below!!! The villas are beautifully landscaped with hibiscus, bougainvilleas, and other tropical flowers to enhance the lovely and lush surroundings. Lit brick pathways join the buildings. Pick your own bunch of bananas off the trees to eat later. The only sounds are the waves crashing below and jungle birds. There is an almost new full sized heated infinity pool overlooking the bluff, and professional landscaping has added to the natural beauty. The villas feature full solar power to lessen our environmental impact and also guarantee electricity during the common brown and black/outs occurring in the jungle.

This piece of paradise is located out in the jungle 2 miles north of the quiet friendly town of San Francisco. Remain on site for peace and quiet or go into town and enjoy the many restaurants and activities. You have steps down to your private beach which varies between sandy or rocky. There are larger permanently sandy beaches 5 minute walks to the north and south, accessed only by paths so semi-private. Las Clavillinas beach (one of these) is the best swimming beach in San Francisco with gentle waves in a secluded cove.

My availability calendar is kept up-to-date--please check before emailing. THE VIEWS ARE SIMPLY SPECTACULAR!!! Photos do not do the villas justice; please also read my guest reviews.

Jungle Oceanfront Villas - Privacy Plus Nature--Infinity Pool

Year Purchased: 2007

Why the Owner Chose San Francisco (San Pancho)

After vacationing in Puerto Vallarta for 10 years, while looking for a 2nd home we fell in love with San Pancho's friendly small town living. We were lucky to find this perfect spot in the quiet jungle with lots of room for our family and friends. No roosters at 2 a.m. and vendors at 5:30 over loudspeakers for us!! Just ocean waves and jungle birds. Now we hate to go into Puerto Vallarta with the traffic and congestion.

The Unique Benefits at this Villa

We love being right on the ocean. First thing in the morning, you sit up in bed and check out the view: are there whales going by, fishing boats, calm waves for a snorkel trip, or something else exciting? You cook watching the sunset with the ocean breeze keeping you cool. The views are always spectacular, and ever changing. In five minutes we can be at sandy beaches without seeing a soul. A favorite is the 4 mile jungle loop hike to spot birds and other wildlife.

A
Las Clavillinas

The best swimming beach in San Pancho

B
Chololo Beach

Nice long beach walk, also five minutes from the villas. If the tide is low you can go all the way to Bungalows Lydia.

Owner's Map of San Francisco (San Pancho)

Hola from sunny San Pancho! Bob and I have been married for 36 years and have three kids (two grown). We totally love relaxing at Villas Susana instead of our faster paced lifestyle in Washington state. Even cooking and cleaning take on new dimensions when you're doing it in an ocean front villa. Besides hiking or walking the beaches, we enjoy snorkeling right below the villas or bird watching.

    • This place is amazing. The pictures on the site do not do it justice! We saw whales, birds, crazy fish, empty beaches... Thanks Susan for such a wonderful stay - we will definitely be back.

    • We stayed here from Thanksgiving to Dec 2, and it has to be one of the most incredible places I have ever stayed. By far, the best vacation I've had in a while! Waking up to ocean surf, watching whales from the deck and lounging by the pool watching shooting stars. It doesn't get much better than that! We will definitely be back!

    • 5 December 2008 We just got back a few days ago from our 6-night stay at Villas Susana. The weather was perfect, the site sublime. From our perch above the Pacific, we watched whales breach, frigate birds soar, and pelicans diving for fish...and that was just before breakfast! We've never had a more relaxing, peaceful vacation and will definitely be back.

    • Wow...what a spectacular getaway!! We were only able to stay for the weekend but hopefully next time can stay longer as there is just too much to do and see. Taking the jungle walk to explore the area and the hidden beaches was quite an experience. We also learned to boogie board at a local beach along with visiting the baby sea turtle hatchlings. Unfortunately we weren't able to play domino's this time...maybe next year!!

    • Our six night stay at Villas Susana was quite the dream vacation. The abundance of private beaches, beautiful jungle walks, friendly neighbors, was matched only by the comfort and peacefulness of this darling hide-away. Very relaxing, with the infinity pool and deck as well as an unbeatable view. It's also close to fun little towns, where we watched a Polo game, soccer game, and baby sea turtles ready to start their amazing journey to the sea. At the town beaches we tried body surfing and also watched some surfers showing their moves. We had lots to do, and could have spent many more weeks just doing nothing. Being able to use the kitchen kept food costs down, and all the games and puzzles available made for great entertainment. We were very content, and hope to return.

    • Comment Text: We stayed for 3 days at Casa Susana this month and had a great time. It's the place to go to see the ultimate sunset, best done while dog paddling at the edge of the infinity pool. There are several long beach and/or jungle walks close by. Lots of privacy and natural beauty to drink in and slow you down enough so you can really enjoy being on vacation.

    • Our family thoroughly enjoyed the nine nights we stayed at Villas Susana in February. I heartily recommend this peaceful, jungle getaway. The children loved the pool and walks to neighboring beaches. We loved the views, solitude and watching for wildlife. I was especially attracted to the artful simpicity of the garden pathways and villa structures. We found San Pancho fun to visit, but were were greatful to retreat back to nature. We are probably the only folks to stay at Villas Susana who chose not to rent a car. While our excursions to neighboring villages were certainly day-long adventures, we enjoyed our treks to town and taking the local buses. Next time we come, we will compromise and rent a car for half the trip. At the beginning of our stay, we overlapped with other guests at the end of their stay. They were truly lovely people, with whom we shared food, hikes and stories for 2 days. We could have spent more money to secure the whole place to ourselves, but I felt confident that anyone who would be attracted to vacationing at Villas Susana, would most likely be my kind of person. Turns out I was right!

I'm taking a moment to thank you for the time we spent in your amazing place. our busy lives came to a stop there. We spent several evenings just the two of us, cooking, talking. Once we had cleared all the conversations regarding our work, kids, lives, aspirations etc, all we were left with was the calm , relaxed pace of the place which in hindsight will likely have changed the course of our lives. Although we are back in the same world as before, we are now somewhat reluctant to get carried away and will endeavour to never forget the other sides of life, of ourselves.

    • This is an amazing place!! Our family enjoyed living in the most pristine and enthralling surroundings. We rated this vacation as one of our top experiences! In addition to the incredible jungle environment, we lived with the most spectacular views and sounds of the Pacific Ocean, and enjoyed the idyllic private beach. Nearby San Pancho is charming, and amazingly reasonable for meals and old Mexico experiences. This is truly an incredible adventure!
