Why the Owner Chose Soldotna
My husband always dreamed of going to Alaska. I planned a trip to the Kenai Peninsula in August 2004. We fell in love with Alaska and the Kenai and wanted to be able to visit often. We decided to buy some property and build a log cabin on it in 2005. We plan on retiring there someday.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The property is surrounded by tall trees on a very quiet road. We love sitting out by the firepit and relaxing after a fantastic day of fishing the Kenai River. We often see moose wondering thru the property. We especially enjoy the long summer nights of the midnight sun!

This was an amazing experience. The cabin was better than expected. The accommodations were unbelievably comfortable and served our needs well. We had 12 people and everyone was comfortable. Plenty of room to spread out. We enjoyed the fire pit and the horseshoe pits at night after our days out fishing and clam digging. The freezer was a big plus for us. With this many people the two grills were of great use. Having all the cooking utensils we needed was very useful. Not to mention the washer and dryer. The drive to the kenai wasn't bad except for construction delays. And we didn't get caught in many. Everything was great including Debbie and Cara for their help. Thanks for everything. We will be back!!!

We had an excellent time there. So nice and a convenient locate between all the happenings in Seward, Kenai and Homer. So nice to stay put and have nice family meals without packing and moving in motel rooms. This makes a wonderful vacation!

So altho the Sterling location is not the most beautiful in AK, this cabin was beautiul. Everything was clean, beds comfortable, quiet location, Wonderful if you have a large group!. We were here to clam,Clam Gulch is a 30minute drive, and had a wonderful experiince. We lacked for nothing. There is even an amzaing kitty to welcome you and is looking for a home. The property manager was great. The only consideration is the distance to shoppijng which is a 20min drive, but well worth the drive for the comfort of this cabin!

We just got home today from our lovely vacation in Alaska. We thought the cruise we took to Alaska was wonderful, then we thought the tour part in land was also great, but when we got to Bear Paw Retreat, we all thought that was the highlight of the trip. The cabin is beautiful and unique plus the surroundings definitely made us feel at home. The frosting on the cake was the sighting of a mother moose and 2 babies out the front door. Many Thanks for sharing your home - Am delighted that I found your ad. Donna

I stayed at Bear Paw Retreat in July 2009 and found it to be a wonderful and enjoyable place to stay. The cabin is well decorated with log furniture, the Property Manager was very helpful with suggestions on where to eat, drink and fish. We will going back again next year.

We spent 5 nights at Bear Paw, and the house is wonderful!! Plenty of room for 6 of us, the teens took over the loft, and the extra bath was great. The cabin is just as pictured, and the front porch has wonderful benches for enjoying the long nights. We had a bonfire with friends our last night, and the memories will last forever.

I stayed here in August with my sister in law and friend. We had a wonderful time in the cabin. It is centrally located to great fishing, hiking, canoeing and sightseeing. It was really helpful having access to fishing gear and equipment to package and freeze all the salmon and halibut we caught. The cabin is very clean, well-equipped and makes a perfect home away from home. The property owners and manager were also really helpful in booking activities such as bear viewing and halibut fishing for us. We loved our stay here and can't wait to return.

What a wonderful place to stay. My husband and I along with some friends were there in the summer of 2006. We really enjoyed sitting around the firepit in the evenings. We played a lot of horseshoes!! I would recommend it to everyone.
