Why the Owner Chose Jonestown
I credit the lake house for bringing me back to Texas after living in NYC and the beach in Southern California for the past 8 years. It's my favorite place in the world - I've traveled all over the world but this was the first place that I ever felt was home. I knew from the day I found the land that I would have this house the rest of my life. I built it when I lived in California as it reminded me of being a kid growing up in Texas. I thought that with the lake house I would have a part of Texas no matter where I lived & one day when I had a family would be able to have a place for my kids to have a home in Texas and make memories like mine but I never knew it would turn out to be what brought me back home. After two years of visiting the lake, making new memories with friends and family and remembering the joy of being a kid, staring up at the Big Texas sky, jumping in the swimming pool, riding bikes on trails, skiing on the lake, BBQing on the back porch, making 'smores with the kids, sitting out back on a warm summer night when the only thing you can hear are the crickets...can't think of anyplace I would rather be than there. The best part about not being there all the time is that it can still be my getaway and it always will be. I have many families who after one visit started vacationing there regularly. I've never heard a complaint - what I hear most often is that the pictures don't do it justice. And they don't - there is no way to capture it in a photo - you have to see it for yourself.

I think of my lake house as a really nice camp for grown ups (and kids!). I feel the excitement of a child every time I am there. You can't help but relax & forget the world on the beautiful drive down winding roads through the Texas Hill Country but that's just the beginning...the lakehouse is heavenly and while you feel like you're a million miles away from everything, it's in the most amazing resort on Lake Travis, The Hollows Resort, with the most amazing amenities and activities for the whole family - it's way better than camp!
