It was my pleasure to visit "Trappers Cabin" this past April. The house is situated at the top of one of the many Smoke Mountains in Maggie Valley. There are two decks that wrap around the house and the views are just spectacular. The house easily fit our group of eight. My favorite memories from the trip include horseback riding through the mountains at the ranch nearby (a must), making a bon fire at the fire pit (a little below the house) while gazing up at the millions of stars overhead and snacking on yummy smores, playing board games to pass the time during a rainy day (some are provided but we brought our own), hiking up to the nearby "hemp hill bald" (ask the owner about how to get there - you almost have a 360 degree view of the mountains!) and my first visit to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville (about a 40 minute drive). I live in a busy city and the first thing I noticed was just how peaceful/silent it was on the calm night we arrived. If you weren't making any noise yourself there was TOTAL silence. Which for me is so rare that it made me smile:) The house itself had everything you need and a lot of space. The main fireplace is HUGE. The house itself is in a very private area where there are few other houses nearby. We look forward to coming back soon.
