Nestled on the beach in a quiet, forested setting on the Straits of Juan de Fuca, this wonderful, somewhat eclectic, but thoroughly modern old home, recently refurbished, is now available for occasional vacation rental (the owners often use it for their own special 'get-a-way'). The area is a well-kept secret "banana belt" and really is warmer and sunnier! In the summer, the cold ocean waters provide cooling breezes.

Dream back in time to the sounds of the surf in this romantic cozy getaway filled with memorabilia, antiques, and close up water views from the house. Just a few steps to a private beach with the seagulls overhead or dine on the ocean view deck watching the sunset. See the lights of Victoria just a short ferry ride away or walk down the road to the mouth of the Elwha River where it opens into the bay . The area is known eagle habitat while deer and other wildlife freely roam and are often seen. Here, in this place, peace, quiet, solitude, and sheer beauty reside every day.

This charming cottage comes complete with legends and a love story. We have the history and pictures of the original 1930's house - you can let your imagination run wild with the rest!

The beautiful old beach stone fireplace, driftwood railings and sunset oil painting on the wall were truly "a labor of love" from the 1930's. So sit around the old fireplace, savor the old story (find out why it is named "Mariainsley"), and create your own delightful memories!
