Why the Owner Chose New Bern
We love this location and views. It is relaxing, but not isolated. We love the birds and the gift of the river. The town of New Bern has a rich history with lots of small town amenities: sports, restuarants, community theater, antiques, and the arts.

We stayed at the River House while participating in my son's wedding festivities. The house is gorgeous and no one wanted to leave! The view from the sun porch is amazing. We watched the sunrise each morning over the river. The gardens are beautiful and the birds also put on quite a show each day. The house has plenty of room for large groups and the kitchen is equipped for any meal. I would highly recommend this site for anyone looking to relax and enjoy all the wonderful activities New Bern has to offer. My family members are already begging to go back and spend more time at the River House. From the dock on the river to the swim spa to the wonderful collection of books on the sun porch, there is plenty here to please all!

We just returned from a week in New Bern where our extended family (14 total) gathered to attend our nieces wedding. The house worked great and was located close to the airport, shopping, restaurants etc. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked and the property was beautiful. We especially enjoyed the sunroom-great place for everyone to hang out. The river is more like a lake and we enjoyed the dock, swimming pool and hot tub. We have family in New Bern and we hope to return. We would surely recommend the River House-nothing negative that we found.
