We bought a cabin in Kingswood Estates, North Lake Tahoe just five miles from Northstar and just a mile above Kings Beach. It is also just two miles from the casinos. It is twenty minutes from Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, Diamond Peak, Homewood and Mount Rose Ski Resorts.
Here are the features that are in the cabin. We gutted the place down to the studs and after six months of work, we are finishing remodling now. I will give you a long list of everything that is new and you can pick the stuff you think is important. The list is way too big and may be overkill, but, I thought I would give you everything.
About the place:
A four bedroom, two bath, Tahoe Cabin with 1600 square feet of living area (the garage has been converted to a bedroom and a large storage area).
The cabin will sleep eight to twelve people but is great for two families.
The private residence is situated with a great deal of space between you and the cabin below you.
This home sits on a large gently sloping lot, so your kids can set up a sled run right outside the house.
There is a new driveway with parking onsite for two cars in the winter (in the summer you are welcome to park more cars on the street). We can accommodate more cars in the winter a few blocks away at our Kings Beach condominium parking area if you do not mind shuttling back and forth. The cabin features two view decks and one patio with a brand new six person hot tub.
Overall features of the house:
New natural stone tiles, granite slabs, hardwood, and plush carpet throughout the house.
New roof to keep you dry.

New large water heater so you can take that extra long shower .
New furnace, ducting and vent systems that heats or circulates the air in the entire house quickly.

House telephone (sorry, no long distance service, so bring a calling card).

Unique china cabinet with all the plates, glasses, and silverware you will need.

(A large separate room downstairs for entertaining or just having some quite time alone.)
Six and a half foot pool table (not regulation but, fun none the less).
New queen-size wall-bed.
A full sized "Golden Tee" video arcade game (it costs 50 cents for 18 holes and it all goes to the kids' college fund).
Wall mounted TV.
Seating and game table.
Access to the second deck and to the patio with the new six person "Free Flow Legend" Spa.
Master Bedroom #1: Queen-size bed, new carpet, etc.
Master Bedroom #2 King-sized bed, new carpet, etc.

Our nightly rate $300/night. $2,000 weekly
Four night minimum
President's, Martin Luther, Labor, and Memorial Day Weekends: Add extra $50/night.
Christmas weeks $2,995
New Years Week $600 a night for 4 nights, $525 for 5 nights, $3,000 for the week
$250 Security Deposit Required.
Add: 10% Lodging Tax & $150 Cleaning Fee.

I had the pleasure of staying at this amazing cabin for a week this summer. We headed to Tahoe with 8 teenagers to celebrate my daughter's 17th birthday. Needless to say, the game room was a big hit with all the kids, as was the hot tub. This property was immaculate, spacious and comfortable; we even had room to spare. We loved the beautiful surroundings and the quiet location. It was truly a wonderful experience and memories were made that I'm sure my daughter will always remember. We had a wonderful time at this Cabin. We had 4 families meet here. The downstairs gameroom was a big hit with the kids while the adults were able to relax and visit upstairs. It's nicely decorated and we loved the huge leather sectional in the living room. The location is nice....only about a mile from some really nice beaches and the Safeway grocery store had everything we needed for our big BBQ. We're looking forward to staying here again!

My husband and I are from Boise, ID and a friend from Reno recommended this cabin to us for our ski trip last month. When we got to the cabin, we were amazed at the beautiful location, views, amenities, and the cozy feel of the cabin. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay while on vacation! Everything we needed was right there and the cabin was just gorgeous. It was in close proximity to neat little shops, restaurants, and fun activities. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great Tahoe experience with everything you need! It was the most enjoyable/relaxing experience and we will definitely be returning for our next ski trip.

My fiance and I were needing a weekend getaway and this was the perfect opportunity. The cabin is located right next to where we went snowboarding. The cabin was very easy to find and everything was in great working order. The cabin was beautiful, clean, and romantic. The view off the balcony was amazing. Night time was the best. the sunset was beautiful. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone needing a romantic getaway or a family of 10 vacationing. We had a great experience and plan to return hopefully this year.

We rented from Jan 20-26, 2010, and we feel their property description is misleading regarding several features. First, the master bedroom w/king does not have an energy efficient window and needs a bigger heater vent because the room temp remained slightly chilly even with thermostat set at 78! Also, since we had to keep the temperature set higher, the rest of the house would get uncomfortably warm. One of the people in our party was in the other master bedroom and had to close his vent because it would get too hot in there. There was a broken closet knob, missing handle on one of the dresser drawers, one of the toilet handles broke, lots of scrapes & scratches on the walls in the dining area, bedroom, bathroom, as well as doors, railings, and wood floors. Technically it’s 1 3/4 bathrooms, since one has a shower only, which really should have an adjustable showerhead. The owners should purchase new pots and pans for the kitchen, as the teflon was all scratched up and flaking off. We didn’t want to use them, but didn’t have a choice. Also, note that the rooms with triple bunk beds are VERY small – only big enough to fit the beds, a dresser, and a closet. Lastly, the cabin was not cleaned before our arrival, which meant having to wash sheets/blankets/towels and clean up the kitchen/bathrooms so we could use them during our first night, plus wait while it was cleaned the following day (thus cutting into our skiing/boarding time). Needless to say, we do not plan on ever renting this place again.
