  Thanks to Ron and Rella we had a perfect time at their newest cabin "The Royal". The weather was cold and rainy and i am glad for that, it made us enjoy an incredible cabin.The cabins has everything you need to hide for a few days, and it is all fantastic. The pictures online do not do the cabins justice, having spent my life building high end homes we entered the cabin and felt like we were in a "model home". We enjoyed the hot tub (in the rain and snow), heated, nice and warm bathroom floors, towel warmer,large shower, fireplace, dinner in their restaurant and dinner in the cabin with take out from the restaurant, comfortable bed, robes, the silence, get the picture. Again thanks Ron and Rella for your vision. See ya next time.

  We actually stayed at Pondview, which is on the same property, but higher up on the hill. There are 4-5 houses altogether, but spaced out and with private fencing for the hot tub at each rental, which we loved! The biggest drawback is that we didn't realize there was no AC (we went Aug 1-4)! It was warm, but there is a nice breeze on the mountain with beautiful HUGE windows. Once the windows were open and fans on, it was pleasant most of the time. The view was BREATHTAKING and everything was clean and tidy. We didn't meet the owners, but their staff was very nice.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

  What a spectacular place and wonderful hosts!!! We had an unbelievable three nights at this great cabin and beautiful setting. Nothing could have been better.... the weather was perfect, food outstanding, and our hosts--Ron and Rella--- are wonderful people. We hope to be back soon and would recommend it to any couple looking for a reprieve from the stress of everyday life.

The cabin and furnishings were perfect and we would like to haul the cabin home. Shortly after arriving we knew we never wanted to leave. Thanks to you and your staff for the beautiful stay. We will be coming back! ~ Vernon & Lisa Mark and I want to tell you how much we loved our time in this "Honeymoon" cabin to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary! We truly felt spoiled by all the wonderful things you have included for your guests - the shower, the hot tub & robes, the towel warmer, the luxurious bed and deluxe furnishings and the wonderful warm fireplace !!! Ron and Rella, your warmth and hospitality also made us feel so good! We really enjoyed the restaurant every evening and the delicious food prepared for us by Ruby and our waitresses, Pat and Sarah. Pat went out of her way to spoil us, help us plan our daily sightseeing and even drew us a "map" with directions. We saw Blackwater Falls, took a hike to Lindy Point (breathtaking views), saw the shops of Thomas & Davis, climbed to the observation post on Seneca Rocks, drove to the top of Spruce Knob (Wow!) and walked the trail around Spruce Knob Lake. We also took in the sights of Dolly Sods and the Smokehole Caverns! It has been wonderful from start to finish - we hate to leave! We will definitely tell our family and friends about this wonderful hidden jewel we have discovered in West Virginia! We plan to return soon ourselves!!   More guest comments..... Thank you for a wonderful weekend! We came to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. The cabin is beautiful and with all the extras, we didn't want to leave. Our dinners at the Golden Anchor were excellant. Thanks. ~ Jon & Cathy When we first found Golden Anchor on the internet months ago & then spoke with you regarding our plans we knew right away that our 25th anniversary could be spent NO WHERE ELSE! Then we arrived - only to be welcomed with an elegant environment - featuring picturesque mountains with light snowfall and a cabin fit to be titled "The Mini Ritz"! This confirming that our getaway would be one to favor forever!! During our 25 years of marriage, we have spent many holidays & special occasions in many places we considered to be very nice. After visiting Golden Anchor, we will be hard pressed to find any other "home away from home" that will give us what Golden Anchor gave us - the comforts of home with the extra special "touches of elegant class". We will be back!! Hopefully next time the restaurant will be open & we can dine with you too. It was our 1st anniversary & this cabin was the perfect place to spend it. We loved the cabin: the cozy, elegant atmosphere, the fireplace, the luxurious bathroom, & the gorgeous view! The cabin is absolutely beautiful and the Golden Anchor Restaurant is very unique and inviting. Thank you also for your hospitality and kindness... you made us feel very welcome! It was the most relaxing and nicest place we've ever stayed! WE have been to the Homestead Resort, Nemocolin Woodlands, suites in Vegas and your cabin tops them all! Additional information about rental rates

Two night minimum on week-ends; three night minimum on holiday week-ends.

Weekly rate (7 nights) is $1,170.00 + 12% tax.

Deposit of 1/2 the total rental is required, with the balance due at check-in.

Additional Fees and Taxes:

12% sales tax applies to all rentals. There are no additional fees.
