Brand New Mountain Escape - Cashiers, NC Lodging Welcome- To North Carolina's newest mountain resort. Beautiful Bear Lake Reserve is a premier resort community located in the mountains of western North Carolina on one of the last undeveloped lakes in the region. This beautiful new community offers nature at its finest. Explore one of the many groomed hiking trails, take a swim in the lake or in one of the Lake Clubhouse pools, golf on the Jack Nicklaus designed 9-hole course, or simply cozy up by the fire. The newly completed Lake Clubhouse offers casual and fine dining, a fitness room, movie room, sauna, library, children's playroom, two pools, hot tubs, indoor and outdoor fireplaces and so much more. Our cottage is the perfect place for you to call home at Bear Lake Reserve. It is a 100 yd walk to Bear Creek Park which features: tree houses, tent platforms, a teepee, suspension bridge, stone fire hearth, BBQ, picnic tables and access to several hiking trails. The cottage offers three bedrooms and two baths including a bunkroom with a hand-crafted twin over full hickory bunkbed made by a local artisan. The other two bedrooms each have a queen sized bed. The floors are beautiful hardwood with tile in the baths. The kitchen and baths boast granite countertops and offer every comfort and convenience of home. Our favorite room of the cottage by far is the screened in porch. With its stacked stone fireplace (there's another one inside), and vaulted cedar beamed ceiling, you'll never want to leave the rocking chairs. Did I mention the sound of the creek flowing? You can hear it from the front and back porches. Bear Lake Reserve is located between Cashiers and Sylva, NC and is 40 minutes from beautiful Highlands, NC.
