The Montorgueil area is a historically preserved market street located in the center of Paris. Since the 1800's, Rue de Montorgueil has been a Mecca for gourmets. In the 2002 edition of Frommer's, Rue Montorgueil was rated the number one market street in Paris.
Not very known to the average tourist in the past, the Quartier Montorgueil is a favorite among Parisians for dining and food shopping.
