Our lake is the third in a chain of three lakes on the Guadalupe River - Lakes Dunlap and McQueeney are just upstream. Being a little further away makes for, well, a more Placid experience. Bring along your fishing poles, or choose to relax on the beautiful sun deck that sits 12 feet over the water.
You will stay in a spacious, fully-furnished home-away-from-home, sure to include everything you need to relax.
You are near everything you need to make your vacation one to remember. We have the largest water park in the USA, Schlitterbahn, and the oldest operating dance hall in Texas, Gruene Hall. You can tube or raft the Guadalupe river, tube the Comal River. If shopping interests you, then you will want to visit one of the largest outlet malls in the U.S. in nearby San Marcos. Take in the historic sites of the Alamo in San Antonio, or enjoy Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Sea World - only a short 40-minute drive away. Of course just sitting on the deck and relaxing is always a favorite activity. You will never run out of things to do.
Our home features include: Three bedrooms, two with king-size beds and one with a queen-size bed. Two full-length sofas can can serve as additional sleeping areas. There are two full baths, full-size washer and dryer, and a two story dock. The home has water views from the living room, dining room, and kitchen. A large covered porch has a table and chairs, and the waterfront is but 70 feet from the back door. There is ample outdoor seating shaded by tall pecan trees to enjoy the view and a huge back yard to enjoy outdoor games, or relaxation. Grilling is available on our gas grill.
Great for 'Winter Texans,' family vacations, or extra room for the holidays.
Pets are welcome, additional pet deposit required.
No smoking inside.

Arrived in March and left in May. Beautiful to watch the landscape go from no leaves to full leaves and lush green grass. The house was as advertised with great lake views and plenty of privacy. The floorplan of this house allows everyone to participate in conversations over meals or just relaxing. Very open and the new flatscreen TV can be seen throughout the first floor. Once the temperatures warmed up, the weekends were great to watch the water sport activity on the lake. Great area to take walks in the morning with great paved roads throughout the subdivision. Lots to offer in the local area, we enjoyed NCAA Regional basketball playoffs in Austin and the Valero Texas Open PGA event in San Antonio. Our main focus was golf and we enjoyed many different courses within a 40 mile radius, all at reasonable prices. Landlords responded to any requests we had during our stay. Hard to leave and go back north.

Perfect for our Thanksgiving get-together!
Perfect for our Thanksgiving get-together!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Lake Placid home during the Thanksgiving holidays. The big kitchen had lots of cabinet space making it the perfect place to prepare our big meal. Big kitchen window looked out on the lake (I enjoyed that) and lots of lighting made the kitchen very cheery. There were plenty of supplies so we didn't have to worry about running out of paper towels, trash bags, food wrap, etc. The beds and bedrooms were comfortable and again, there was great lighting beside the beds so relaxing in bed with a book was possible. Family room had big screen TV and lots of comfortable seating for watching the football games. I'm using the word "comfortable" a lot because that is the word that best describes the entire house. Property was clean and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this home to my friends and family for renting.

Great Family Get-Away
Great Family Get-Away
The property was located in a lovely neighborhood right on the water. The house was nicer than it seemed in the pictures. The kitchen was large and accomodating with an open living area. We enjoyed relaxing by the water and enjoying the activities in nearby Seguin and New Braunfels. The owner was very easy to work with and was able to accomadate all our requests. We would love to return anytime. If you have your own boat, you never need to leave the property.

Owner response: We are glad that your stay was so nice. One thing we want to clarify for our future guests about use of a boat: We do not allow boats to be secured to our dock due to safety issues. Guests are welcome to use small craft like kayaks and canoes from our property as long as they can lift them in and out of the water. We wish you many happy returns!

This was a great location! Perfect views, great house, great yard and the docks were in super shape. We loved it. The kitchen was HUGE and there was plenty of room for dining and visiting and hanging out! I can't believe how well stocked the kitchen was. Trash bags, soap, paper towels, toilet paper were all provided AND beach towels too! This is a perfect house for a week on the river! Just like being on the river without all the hassle, just peace and quiet and fun! We will definitely be booking our trip for next year and many years to come! Easy rental and great owners to work with!

The pictures do not do this home justice so you must see it for yourself! Once you step foot on the property you will not want to leave the backyard and dock. There is a lot of wonderful shade, grass and sitting area to take in the beautiful view of the water. The house was clean, comfortable, and stocked with all the things to make your stay comfortable; and the owners were great to work with. It was only 15- 20 minutes from New Braunfels/Gruene which allowed us to float the river one day. We will be back!

We stayed at this propety for three nights. We had 8 people in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house was clean and had a great view. There were plenty of towels and supplies. Sandra was great to work with, very friendly and helpful. We will be staying there again!

Whole week of relaxation
Whole week of relaxation
The pictures do not do this home justice. You must see it for yourself. It is a beautiful cozy home! Best week we have had compared to all the other vacation rentals we have done. We have been in homes who don't even have enough utensils. This home provided plenty of toiletries, towels, dishes and blankets. The back yard had lots of shade and lots of grass for the kids to run and play. Something I especially liked was they had several life jackets in a variety of sizes, which is great. Something less you have to pack. They had laundry soap to wash the towels, which helped. I will be recommending this home to all my friends and family! I will certainly be back. Thank you very much for allowing us in your home!

We stayed at this house for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. What a little haven! It was only an hour from our house in Austin and 20 minutes from wonderful attractions in New Braunfels/Gruene (restaurants, Sat AM farmer's marker, antique shops, coffee shops). The house was spotless, comfortable, and stocked with all the things we forgot to bring (like koozies, coffee filters, and disposable dishes/silverware for our last morning). Incredibly relaxing. Refreshing water. Lush grass. Shady trees. We swung off the rope swing, floated in the water, swam and/or kayayed up and down the river, slept on the lawn, read on the dock. The owners were prompt, accomodating and professional in their communication. We will be back and have told all our friends. Thank you for opening your home to us!

Could Be Nice
Could Be Nice
The house was not clean. There were spider webs everywhere and it seems as though a family of roaches lives in the house. There were exposed wires hanging from the ceiling at the front door and in all of the closets. We, also, found cameras pointing into the house and at the boathouse. I find that to be a violation of my privacy. I will not stay in this home again nor do I reccomend it to anyone. If the owner put a little work into the place and kept it clean it could be a decent place for the price.

Owner response: Tamany, We apologize to you for experiencing a stay that was less than you expected. We have addressed the insect problem, which seemed to have been triggered by the hotter, drier summer than we usually have. You caught our wiring project in process and agreed, at the time, it was not aestheticlly pleasing, even though the wires were not hooked to electricity. Our cameras are intended to provide security to the home when guests are not present, so we can assure our guests will arrive at a safe, secure home.
Fabulous Family Vacation
Fabulous Family Vacation
Our family was so pleased with this home and the entire area. The home sits on beautiful lake front property with lush green grass that just begs you to walk barefoot to the dock. One of the features we appreciated greatly about the property were the stocked supplies. It was so nice not to have to purchase every item needed, especially for only small quantities. The kitchen really had all the equipment we needed as well. Previous guests had also left various items from sunscreen to spices. And towels... no need to bring your own, this house is set up for the lake, plenty of bath and swim towels in the linen closet and floats and life vests in the garage. In response to a previous review on the AC, when we first arrived it was warm, but then again it was over 100 degrees outside... Texas Summmer! The AC maintained 79 for the week. Some of us might have like it a bit cooler, but it was so hot outstide that it may have been a challenge for any AC unit to cool much less than 79. Past the initial cooling off time we were comfortable. So yes, if someone was cleaning and knew there was an expected arrival, it would be nice to have the AC on to reduce the cool-off time. I also saw comments regarding their being only one small TV. There are actually two TVs in the house, both small and certainly not the center of attention. We rather enjoyed the break this gave us and loved the time with each other. The magazines and flyers were a nice addition, it gave us an easy way to find some other sights to see and things to do. The internet access was a super plus as well. The house is very spacious with plenty of room everywhere, so no one was tripping on anyone else, there was ample seating in the living and dining areas... and everyone had their own bedrooms. A few suggestions... Some form of blinds or tinting on the windows would be great... not so much to cover it, because the view is incredible, but to help with the sun in the afternoon, even if just on the LR side slider. Possibly some more games for the game cabinet... dominoes or card games would be great, puzzles too. Our family would love to come rent again... thanks, Sandra, for wonderful place to share time with our family...we had such a great week!
