We all had a great visit to Hidden Valley. Casablanca was decorated wonderfully, the layout was perfect for adults with a bunch of kids. Everyone could find a spot to hang out and the common area was perfect when we were all together. We look forward to returning in the future!

Wonderful place to host a ski weekend at Hidden Valley. Lots of space and the unit has all the amenities you would need to make your stay enjoyable. The decor and open layout is perfect for larger groups to relax and entertain. The owners are very helpful and kept in communication with us up until our stay. Extremely kid friendly with the two bunk beds and the loft area. One added benefit is the spacious foyer to store your coats and gear before walking into the main house. We will definitely be coming back again...

I could wholeheartedly give Casablanca 5 stars based on the layout, decor, and location of the condo, the very well equipped kitchen (eg, where else do you find 3 whisks in a vacation rental kitchen!), and especially the helpfulness of the owner. He could not have been nicer and more accommodating, quick to respond to emails, offering to let us arrive early, stay later, etc. However, the condo is in great need of TLC and a very thorough general cleaning. The microwave had crusted food in it, the shower curtains were mildewy, a door knob was missing from a bedroom door, slats missing from vertical blinds, stopped up kitchen drain/disposal (for which we bought a plunger to unplug it),and most distressing was the debris under beds and other stationery furniture. And I don't just mean dust bunnies-- there was dried food, etc. With a toddler and pre-schooler in our group, we were on the floor a bit, retrieving toys, etc., under furniture, and it was not a pretty picture. The impression was that the cleaners do a decent job of superficially cleaning, but how hard would it be to vacuum under the beds and to change a shower curtain occasionally? We did have a good week there, and if some of these details were attended to, I would have no hesitation in returning and recommending it others.
Owner response:I'm sorry you had an issue with the cleaning. I contacted the cleaning agency and addressed the issue. Apparently they sent a new team that was not familiar with the home and didn't do as good job as we expect. They took full responsibility, reinstated the original team, and immediately sent a crew to do some 'spring cleaning' and fix the issue at no cost. We also just went up to the house two weeks ago to give some TLC... The house is popular with guests and we simply couldn’t get in earlier because it was booked solid. I think I’ll make a point of reserving time in the middle of the season to take care of some maintenance issues that are not the responsibility of the cleaning team. Wear and tear is common, and we addressed all issues with curtains, blinds, handles, etc. Those of you who stayed with us before, knows that Casablanca is a unique home, very comfortable and very clean, with many upgrades like free Wi-Fi, wood floors, and many more. Those who have not stayed here before please read the rest of the reviews and you'll see there are no other cleaning issues, only rave reviews. We try very hard to make Casablanca a unique place that stands tall among other Hidden Valley rental homes and the reviews and numbers of return guests are the best testimony for how special Casablanca really is. We take pride in our work and will continue to keep this home a great place for vacation. Thank you for your support! Ziv, Owner

~ Casablanca ~ one of our family's treasured winter traditions! This is a comfortable ~ beautifully decorated home! It is obvious that the owner cares about the families that rent their home ~ as they are accessable and responsive. The home is stocked with all that a family would need - from extra toys for the kids ~ to a never-ending wood pile with seasoned split wood. There are no surprises - the pictures on the web page provide an accurate view of the home ~ The decor is beautiful ~ it all just feels warm and comfy ~ from the leather couch, to the stone fireplace to the big wooden dining table! This home is so close to the slopes that the family can come back to eat lunch or dinner and then go right back out to the slopes! We love this home and Hidden Valley and look forward to returning !

Just spent the weekend here with my family and had a fantastic time. House is extremely comfortable and is very well stocked. We grilled dinner on the barbecue on the outdoor patio and then enjoyed an evening indoors by the fireplace playing scrabble. During the day we enjoyed the hiking and biking trails. Whether for a weekend or for a week or longer, you won't be dissapointed with the area or the house. Good for all seasons.

Spent a week there with different family members coming and going throughout. Ziv was great through the entire process, everything was in order at the house. The pictures do it no justice, it is spacious and a great space for a large family gathering. We spent a lot of time cooking and everything we needed was provided. We loved the large dining table and the layout of the kitchen, dining and living spaces. Hidden Valley was a great location for hiking, golfing, mountain biking, orienteering and just enjoying the beautiful fall weather! Can't wait to go back. You can not go wrong with this house!

Our family loved this property's setting, among rhododendrons and forest, framed by the picture windows and glass doors of the home. We enjoyed a multi-generational Thanksgiving gathering, with room (and utensils) for many cooks around the kitchen peninsula, a fire, games, and quiet spaces for mid-day reflection. We enjoyed a visit to Fallingwater (the owner had provided reservation information), hikes in the hills, and the splendor of an overnight freezing rain glistening on branches. The owner provided pages of suggested attractions--something for every season. We highly recommend this property to families seeking togetherness, indoor and outdoor beauty, and recreational options year-round.

The entire home accomadated all of our needs, albeit no A/C, but in the Laurel Highlands who needs it ? The dining area is the very heart of the home and if we could have carved our smiles of happiness and laughter that we shared into the dining table at Casablanca we would have ! The deck is a great gathering place as well. With many different ages, likes and dislikes in our family we were able to find something for everyone to do ! Even when the weather wasn't the best. The proximity of the pool and the golf is a plus. Per the golfers, the course was very good! Overall the central location to many other activities is great. We travelled to Shanksville, Kentuck Knob, Ohiopyle, miniature golf, Seven Springs and yes we even went trout fishing ! All within a 1 - 40 mile radius. Although we have historically gone to the beach on our vacations, we found this mountain trip relaxing in a different way and would definitely do it again ! The easy accessibility to Casablanca is a true bonus. Only a short distance off the PA Turnpike. The quietness of the wooded area is amazing. Ziv and Blanche, the owners were extremely helpful, hospitable and easy to deal with even from a distance. We appreciated that very much ! We recommend you give Casablanca a try anytime, any season ....just to relax or for a reason (ex:skiiing) !!!!!!!!

Casablanca has such a wonderful layout for a large family. The kids all hung out in the upstairs loft (the computer was a godsent for the teenagers and the younger kids loved all the games provided), meanwhile the adults either watched movies or played cards at the dining room table. Everyone still felt very connected due to the openness of the house. The owners were awesome to deal with and prompt at responding to any questions we had. Already trying to plan another weekend getaway to Casablanca!

What an awesome weekend! Getting away from the Rat Race of the city was just what we all needed. Even though it was very cold-we didn't feel it-probably all the wine!!! The amentities of the place were over and beyond what were expected. The family is already talking about doing it again. One of my favorite rooms was the mud room-never saw a boot, shoe, coat,or glove in the place. Just closed the door and it was all in that room. Your hospitality and kindness was felt the whole weekend.

It was 9 degrees when we arrived so some in our group decided to stay in the whole weekend. They played games, cooked and really enjoyed themselves. For those that skied it was great but cold. We had such a wonderful time at this condo. It was truly a home-away-from-home. The kitchen was well stocked and allowed our family to enjoy many meals at the condo. We swam, hiked, played tennis and just enjoyed the quiet and beauty from the back porch. There was plenty of room for us to gather and socialize. If we ever get back to Pennsylvania, this is where we would want to stay!

July 2009 - We just got home from PA - had a great weekend. The weather was a little cooler than any of us expected, but we enjoyed ourselves just the same. Your home was beautiful! Just perfect for us. The toys in the loft were a big hit with all the kids. We went fishing, swimming, and we made it to the animal park- that was really fun for the kids (and grown-ups) definitely worth a visit. We ate pizza from the Italian Oven and it was yummy. Thanks for a great weekend!

My family recently stayed at Casablanca and just LOVED it! We had ten people staying with us (mostly adults) and we never felt crowded or "on top" of each other. The townhome had all of the amenities that we could think of. We did a lot of cooking and had everything we needed in terms of appliances, utensils, plates, etc. As others have said, the photos due not due this townhome justice. It was very warm and cozy. We never felt like we were in a rental unit, rather someone's home. Our family will definitely return to Casablanca!

This was the perfect meeting place for my family and my sister in law's family -- a wonderful, cozy, beautiful retreat with plenty of space and every comfort and convenience. The kids' loft upstairs was perfect for our four kids, ages 2-6. Plenty of room to stretch out, relax, drink beer and hot tea by the fireplace, and enjoy peaceful sleep. Best part of it all: we contacted Ziv on very short notice, and he was very flexible and kind about the arrangements. We will definitely be back in the warmer months, when our kids can visit all the great outdoor attractions!

I have to say that the photos definitely do not do the cabin justice. Once we came in we were definitely floored by how warm and inviting it was. We have many great memories thanks to your home. Furthermore, your hospitality during this whole time was well received. I can guarantee that our group will remember you for future events. In fact, I had my wife and son join us on our group trip. I was even impressed that there were toys for my son to play with and childrens books and movies.

Our family of 6 adults and our beloved 6 month old granddaughter spent a great weekend at Casa Blanca which is perfect for a family reunion or any gathering where folks want to relax and have fun. Well located, an hour from Pittsburgh and near many state parks. hiking trails, a lake, and small lovely rural towns. Ohiopyle is a must on a hot day, cooling off in the mighty Youghanghnia (forgive my spelling and let's just call it the Yough River). the house is very comfortable, good beds, clean, well equipped with a very nice outdoor deck. Swimming pools are nearby. I would just say 'ditto' to all the other comments. We were quite pleased and thanks to the Zivs for providing us this rare treat for our families. We stayed at this property in February 08 for my husband's 40th birthday celebration. We never rented from someone off Craig's List before and were initially a little hesitant. Let me reassure anyone that might want to stay at this townhouse that it is absolutely beautiful! Very clean and nicely decorated. We had 10 people in our party and never felt crowded. We were close to the slopes and had a beautiful backdoor view of nature. Thank you so much Blanche and Ziv for renting your townhouse to us. We had a great time and would recommend your place to anyone. Sincerely,

You were far enough away from things and yet convenient to run to town for the forgotten items or additional food. The people we encountered were relaxed and friendly. The house was perfect. When inside and recovering from our activities it was a nice bonus that you have Versus on the TV as we could watch the tour de France. Lots of fun. The condo was large enough to accommodate tables for the 5 of us. Although the condo is able to accommodate many more we wanted to have ample room to work on our projects. If you are snow skiers renting, the condo has an over sized entry with a large closet. This area is great for wet skis and coats not to mention a bench to sit on while taking your boots off.The owners take pride in their condo and are quick to respond to E-mails and return of the deposit. My husband and I had a wonderful long weekend on probably what was one of the dreariest and wettest weekends of the late winter! Your description/photo of the house does not begin to describe how lovely and comfortable the interior is and how immediately relaxed you feel upon entering. My favorite room is the open living rm/dining rm/ kitchen area.We had a "feast" with friends on the beautiful large dining table while the kids played in the loft above. You can see that the owners truly put thought and care into the decorating. We also enjoyed the varied selection of books/videos/games! The king-sized bed in the downstairs master bedroom was super comfy. Too bad we didn't get snowed in!!

Hi Blanche & Ziv, Thank you for the prompt return of our security deposit. And thank you for a wonderful mini-vacation! We had a fantastic time. 3 families -- 2 from Pgh. and one from Ocean City, NJ. The snow was beautiful when we arrived and it lasted long enough for the kids to enjoy sledding and tubing for 3 days. Considering our current weather here and the normal lack of snow on the Jersey shore, the kids were thrilled to see the white stuff. We all agreed that the house was perfect. Comfortably accommodated the 3 couples and the kids all shared the bunk room. We were admiring some of the books on the shelves -- Confederacy of Dunces, etc. -- and were happy to see the Grateful Dead Family Album! We're all into music and love the Dead. Cool place. Lots of fun. We enjoyed the Laurel Mountain Inn and had take-out from the Italian Oven. It was decent, easy and cheap. They offer dinners that serve 6-8 adults and come with salad and bread, which worked well for our group. My only disappointment was that there is no recycling up there. We all agreed that we'd like to make an annual trip to Hidden Valley. Hopefully we'll plan better in advance and get your place for a couple days longer. Thanks for everything! Happy '07. Kristin
