We had an amazing time at the Big Bear Retreat! The cabin is absolutely gorgeous with stunning views. Highlights included fishing from the paddle boat and canoe (caught some rainbow trout!), relaxing in the hammock, hiking the many nearby trails (Adams falls was great!), enjoying the beautiful views, renting a pontoon boat in Grand Lake, and moose and elk sightings. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and enjoying the outdoors. Big Bear Retreat was extremely clean and had everything we ever could have wanted! Great place for a family reunion!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We drove 1,100 miles, not knowing what to expect.Met my sister's family at the cabin/chalet for our long anticipated vacation for her 50th B-day. I totally agree with her summary of our time at Big Bear Retreat #11056. The cleanest,scenic,most peaceful cabin ever! Not only was the property and house perfect in every way, it's location was great for daytrips, hiking and just plain old relaxing. The views were breathtaking and this bass fisherman from the midwest caught and released his first trophy trout. My family will remember this awe inspiring trip for the rest of our lives-Thank-you to the Harringtons for sharing your little peace of heaven with us! Beyond our expectations!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I celebrated my 50th birthday at Big Bear Retreat and I could not think of anyplace better. We hiked in the RMNP, rafted the whitewater, rode ski lifts, paddled the lake in the canoe and the paddleboat. My brother caught a much sought after trout and we enjoyed just relaxing by the lake and on the expansive deck. There were moose and elk sightings daily. Several moose right on the property ( including twin babies). The home was well stocked and beautifully furnished. The layout perfect for two families with teenagers! Our extensive search for the right place was well worth it. This place was wonderful! Thank you for sharing this little piece of heaven.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family recently stayed at the Big Bear Retreat and we had a perfect family vacation. The home is just as described in the VRBO listing but better. We had plenty of room and everything we needed to spend a day on the private lake or an evening at home barbequeing, making smores and watching movies with our 2 small children. The homeowners have gone the extra mile by creating a survival guide that gives tips on what to do in the area. We went hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Forest and spent one day on a pontoon boat on Grand Lake. It was all simply AMAZING.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us. We had a blast here with the cabin, boats, wildlife and the fishing. During our trip we saw 3-4 moose and dozens of elk, right here. We caught five fish including a 17" trout off the dock! Rocky Mt. Thank you for sharing your home with us. It is beautifully furnished and truly has the feel of a well-loved home. You have gone to great detail to make our stay as easy and carefree as possible. We enjoyed the trout we caught, the canoe rides around the lake, cooking smores around the campfire, and watching the two moose that grazed just off the deck! What a great place for a family Christmas! Thank you so mcuh for the decorations - everything was perfect. You have everything we need to be comfortable and busy. It was a beautiful all white Christmas. We snowshoed, went tubing, snowmobiling and walked in the snow. We really loved this place! We have been coming up to Grand Lake for a few years now and we always stay somewhere new. Your home has by far topped the list! The lake was lovely and the house beautiful. We enjoyed looking through the photo album of the house being built ... what a job! Thanks so much for letting us stay in your home. What a wonderful blessing to gather as famiy and friends to enjoy and celebrate each other! Each day brought more awe at the beauty around us, both inside your amazing hoome and outside among the breathtaking views. We created so many wonderful memories: Team cooking; Fishing for the "big one"; Reminiscing; Cooking s'mores around the fire; Hiking and biking; Listenint to our children giggle and laugh; Board games; Looking for the incredible wildlife! Our family took our first extended family vacation in June and stayed at Big Bear Retreat...it was absolutely amazing! There was a ton of room for the adults and kids, the bedrooms were wonderful, the arrangement of the house was ideal and all of the amenities were fabulous! We spent most of our time fishing, canoeing and taking turns in the paddle boat. In addition, Rocky Mountain National Park is just a short drive away and we went into the park every evening to watch the wildlife and were not disappointed as we saw moose and elk every time!
