THE BEST VACATION OPPORTUNITY AT THE LAKE!! This lovely townhome with Wisp Ski Resort and lake views is just 1.2 miles from Wisp (2 minutes drive time) and is the perfect 4-season vacation home. Parking is available for 2-4 cars. A fully equipped kitchen with glasstop range and extra amenities, stone wood-burning fireplace with FREE, unlimited, on-site community-provided firewood, deck/balcony with gas grill, table/umbrella and 6 chairs; indoor table seating for 6-8 + 3 at the huge buffet/counter, new front-loading washer/dryer, and lockable entry-level skis/recreational equipment storage, are just a few of the appealing features available to our guests.
Each bedroom (except the loft) features a color TV and DVD player. The extended cable system includes HBO, Showtime and Music Channels. Our extensive family-oriented video library of over 80 movies will entertain you and your children after you've finished skiing, swimming or boating. You'll also find a wide selection of child/adult games and puzzles from which to choose. Relaxing in the community's newly renovated FREE indoor heated year-round swimming pool is also a great way to end a fun-filled day in any season!!
Sleeping: 1 Queen-sized bed in Master Bedroom, 1 Queen-sized bed in Bedroom #2, bunkroom with four singles, loft with daybed + trundle (sleeps 2 singles). Legal maximum is 10.
Since the vast majority of people own cell phones, we don't offer in-home phone service, as there is really no need for it. Instead, we pass on the savings to you. For vacationers who MUST check in with the office, however, our office nook features a new Compaq Presario V6000 Notebook with Verizon PC highspeed air card for internet access and an HP color printer/copier/scanner (but we think there are so many other wonderful things to do!!!). Children may use the computer/internet with direct adult supervision.
Because of our mountain location, temperatures and humidity are low year-round, even in the middle of the summer, so this home features ceiling fans only. Don't worry--you'll stay plenty cool.
You'll only need toiletries/towels, food (there's a full-service Foodland grocery less than one mile away and a Walmart Super Center in Oakland, about 9 miles away) bed linens** and recreational items, including pool toys. (**Can you toss your own bed linens in the car? We thought so. We pass the savings on to you.) All paper, laundry, dishwashing and other cleaning supplies are provided.
Additional activities include pontoon boat tours, paintball, skateboarding, State Park Discovery Center (with plenty of children's activities),and more. You're within about 1/8 mile walking distance of Bill's Marina where you can rent boats. There is community access to the lake for swimming from the community owned waterfront across Deep Creek Drive. AND, the new whitewater rafting course opened on the top of Marsh Mountain--it's a 1/3 mile course--you can kayak, raft, etc. There are guided rafting trips down the course and children can go, too, though you'll need to check the age/height/weight restrictions.
NEW!! Open Year-Round, the WISP MOUNTAIN ROLLER COASTER!! This two-seater, 3,500 foot track is one of only 4 mountain coasters in the US. You can ride solo or with another, regulate your speed up to 26 mph, and enjoy fantastic mountain views....also now available at Wisp: guided Mountain Buggy Rides.
OPENING 2010-2011! Aqua Mountain Indoor Waterpark--the only indoor waterpark in the state of Maryland will feature numerous slides, wavepool, child pools, dumping buckets area, lazy river and more. While you will be able to stay at the resort, Rudy's Retreat is positioned directly across from the planned resort and will offer a home atmosphere, full kitchen and larger living and sleeping space not available at the resort and at a significant savings..... book with us now for advantage booking when the resort opens...

Though our time here was short, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is great, roomy and amazingly well-stocked. It was terrific to have a washer and dryer for all of the wet towels and suits from the beautiful lake. A trip to Swallow Falls is a must; the kids had a great time wading in the falls and can't wait for our return in January.

We enjoyed our stay in your lake home. Much nicer than staying in a hotel. As my oldest son said, "This place is awesome!" It was great to have a kid-friendly place--the movies, games, puzzles, and kitchen items. They loved the loft. The kitchen is very nicely stocked. I'm so glad we chose to stay here.
