This is the second year in a row we have rented this great 1 bedroom condo for a month. We love this location on the quiet side of Waikiki beach and we love this unit with the most amazing harbour view and breathtaking sunsets. You can be as busy or as laid back as suits you. Oahu offers a wide variety of restaurants, fresh seafood and tropical fruit. Lots of historial sights/museums, beautiful beaches, places to get away from the crowds, sunshine and the ideal climate!!! Oahu is so graced with a healthy, peaceful and safe lifestyle. The owners have literally thought of everything and anything that you could possibly need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The pictures are a true indication of what the condo is like and equally as important, the owners are pleasant to deal with and their courtesy and professionalism is second to none. We found the bus system great and used it all the time and believe it or not you can see the majority of the island by public transit. We love the Aloha Spirit and in a lifetime of travel we have never discovered a more beautiful community of people than on Ohau. We highly recommend this condo for your vacation and we hope to be fortunate enough to return again next year. Mahalo Rex and Erica for the privilege of sharing your home away from home. Just spent 10 wonderful days at the Pink Plumeria. The condo was exactly what you see in the pictures, it was very clean and well equipped including beach chairs and towels! Erica and Rex were great to work with and Lila was there when I locked myself out of my unit, still with a smile on her face. The condo is within walking distance to everywhere and that is exactly what we did...walked everywhere! I would recommend this property and would love to stay there again.
Owner response:Aloha Karen, We are so glad you had a great stay at the Pink Plumeria. Thank you for your nice comments about the Pink Plumeria and our service, as we really appreciate you taking the time to offer such positive feedback in a public forum. We never get tired of hearing things like that. We hope that you can come back and stay with us again. With aloha, Rex and Erica

Great location overlooking the harbour. Central to Waikiki and the night life but quiet enough to get a good nights rest. Nice apartment with everything you need to live independently. Cool and quiet air conditioning. Cute lanai with great views of the harbour. Good spot for people watching. Can't really go wrong staying here. Excellent experience. We will be back!

We've spent 10 days in Pink Plumeria and satisfied with our choice of accommodation in Hawaii. The unit is well maintained and has all amenities to make your holidays comfortable. The location of Marina building is very convenient: 7 minutes walk from the beach, next to ABC grocery store and few restaurants, 10 minutes walk from Ala Moana mall. On Friday night you can enjoy the fireworks from the lanai - the view is perfect. There are many other units in Waikiki which might sound similar, but what makes this unit special is the owners (Erica & Rex) and onsite property manager (Lila). Rex was very accommodating & flexible with our pre-arrival requests and late departure arrangements. Great & professional people to deal with with! We definitely recommend Pink Plumeria for staying in Honolulu.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Pink Plumeria for 9 days. I cannot say enough about the location of the condo. It was perfect in every way ... spacious, comfortable, convenient and provided some of the most amazing views I had ever seen! We were within a 15 minute, very comfortable walk to the bustling Waikiki beachfront and still enjoyed some very quiet and peaceful nites. Its also walking distance to the Ala Moana shopping center if you are in the mood for some shopping. We rented a car and parking was not as expensive as I had expected. There is a public beach parking lot right across the street from the condo. We ended up paying $8 for a 12-hour period. We drove to the eastward beaches every day so $8 really did not seem like much. I would STRONGLY recommend staying at the Pink Plumeria to anyone looking for their perfect location. You will LOVE this place!!! I GUARANTEE IT. We certainly did!!
Owner response:Mahalo nui Delmi, and thanks for being so easy to deal with and communicate with. Ho'omaika'i! Rex and Erica

Just arrived home back to Florida from a weeks stay at the Pink Plumeria in Waikiki. This was my first experience with VRBO, and can attest that this location and property is every bit and more than was expected. My (2) teens and myself set-out on a Family adventure and were very pleased with the acccomodations. If your looking for more than a hotel, then this is the place. Shopping, Restraurants, and convenient stores within walking distance. We loved so much, I wish I could ship my personal belongings and move in for good! All the comforts of home and more. We plan on returning as offen as possible.
Owner response:Mahalo nui for the kind words Dwayne. Your comments regarding the improvements being made at the nearby Ilikai Hotel were very helpful as well. Good to know. We hope to see you back soon. E Komo Mai! Rex and Erica

We had a great stay in Rex and Erica's condo. It was in a great location with fantastic views of the harbor as well as the beach. We could park the car and walk to most places. The condo is done so tastefully and kept very clean. Lila was available to answer any questions we had. We will definitely return to Oahu and wouldn't think of anywhere else to stay. It felt like home away from home! Thank you for being such great hosts.
Owner response:Mahalo for the super nice comments Joyce. I know Waikiki was a part of your visit to several islands, and we are stoked that you had such a fun time at our condo. A hui hou! Rex and Erica

"Aloha, we stayed in this lovely condo from December 17th, 2009 to January 31st, 2010 and did not want to leave and come back to the winter in Ontario. The whole experience from the start when we made the reservation was wonderful, Rex and Erica are a delight to deal with, very professional but friendly, and Lila, the property manager, is the best. Everything you need is taken care of and from the minute we walked into the apartment it felt like home. We did not need a car, we bought bus passes and went all over the island, very easy indeed. Among other things, we went on a dinner cruise on the Star of Honolulu, which we thoroughly enjoyed, and we also did a Hummer tour to the Kualoa Ranch and the LOST and many movies locations, which was a real highlight - well worth it. We loved watching the Friday night fireworks at the Hilton from our Lanai with a glass of wine, and it was great being in Waikiki over the Christmas and New Year's holiday season. There is a well stocked library and DVD collection in the condo and our favourite was the HAWAII 5-0 tapes. There are so many great restaurants in the area, and we tried some of them when not using the well appointed, well stocked kitchen. Our favourite had to be Sarento's Top of the "I", we went there for our 50th wedding anniversary dinner, and then our daughter and son-in-law spent their first wedding anniversary in Waikiki and we went back to the Top of the "I" for that celebration. The view out from the lanai over the Yacht harbour and the Pacific Ocean beyond is spectacular and the sunsets every night were unsurpassed. There are so many things to say, I cannot fit them all in here, and we cannot wait until our next visit. Mahalo to Rex and Erica and best wishes for 2010. Jean and Barrie Ward, Ontario Canada." Thanks again Rex and Erica for sharing, and we'll be in touch later in the year. Jean and Barrie
Owner response:Jean and Barrie were extremely friendly and easy to deal with. We are so glad your 50th Anniversary worked out so well for you! Ah yes...those sunsets every night...... :-) Thank you both so much for your kind comments. Rex and Erica

Perfect home away from home, base for Oahu exploring. Great view-there's something about the gently rocking boats docked at the marina below and aqua sea beyond. Easy to ocean swims, sunset strolls, even to view graceful hula under the banyan tree at the Halekulani. Love the kitchen to slice papaya and pineapple, prepare fresh fish from the Farmers Market, not have to eat out all the time. Hosts are dedicated to a memorable stay, have many hints. We will return. Aloha!

Rex & Erica, We wanted to let you know that we enjoyed our stay at "The Pink Plumeria". It was very comfortable, well equipped and is convenient for vacationers, whether walking to the beach, to shopping, or catching "The Bus" to more distant destinations. We enjoyed the marina/ocean view from the lanai each day and especially enjoyed our ringside seat for the fireworks show on Friday night. We also appreciated the extras you provide, like the free wifi connection to check on flights and for email connection with family at home. On Thanksgiving day, we enjoyed a great buffet dinner with live music, at the Charthouse Restaurant on the main floor of the building. We can recommend it for a nice dinner out, without the hustle & bustle of the traffic in Waikiki! Mahalo.
Owner response:Mucho mahalos to you too. And thanks for the great tip on the Charthouse on Thanksgiving day. That is very good to know about. Sounds kinda good right now! Rex

Stayed at the Pink Plumeria for only 5 days - not long enough. It is a beautiful, well equipped suite. I don't think there was anything you could have needed that wasn't there. The location is perfect. It a 6 min. walk along the Marina and beach to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the fantastic Rainbow Lanai breakfast buffet. Easy access to busses to The Ala Moana Center. Car rental across the street. Easy parking in a well secured parking garage. Parking on G level, takes you right into the hall of the suite. Property manager very helpful and nice. We would definately book with Rex and Erica again. Thanks again Sonja

We stayed in this condo for a week. It was very clean, very comfortable bed (slept better than normal) and had very updated kitchen. Close to best part of beach - I walked close to all of Waikiki - this was best area for swimming. Owners had book with all information for eating out and for site seeing. Contact at condo talked to us a couple of times to ensure we were not in need of anything. Would highly recommend this unit - centrally located and we would rent it again if available when we return to Honolulu

We hope to stay here again soon!

There’s something about the Pink Plumeria that left me feeling I had returned home, and that I was well taken care of. I suppose because trusting Rex and Erica had not made any financial compromises when they decorated, furnished and stocked the amenities into this condo. It was not long during my month’s visit that I started feeling as if I was one of Hawaii’s Trust Babies, the descendents of the plantation owners and shipping barons, or from the royal line of Kamehameha. Each morning I would look out the bedroom window or lanai beyond the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, and felt a sense of ownership to the vast Pacific Ocean. I used the binoculars to check out Waikiki Beach to the left, and Ala Moana Beach Park to the right. Which beach shall I go to? Shall I walk or drive? If I drove I walked a mere 40 steps to our car in the spacious and clean garage, without ever using an elevator. And, during my month’s stay I rarely saw other residents, perhaps only 3 times. How good is that? I retired late every night, about midnight, 1 AM or later, just to hear the silence along the shoreline and stare at the shimmering reflection of the Harbor lights on the calm waters as a soft breeze blew over me. I could have used the quiet air conditioner for the living room or bedroom, but I preferred creating a soft island breeze by carefully situating the floor fans and turning on the ceiling fan. You are returning home when you enter the Pink Plumeria so bring only your clothes and shoes; the condo has everything you need and more.
Owner response:Mahalo nui for the kind words, and especially thanks to you, Sandra, for the wonderfully written communications and comments you sent to us! Ho'omaika'i! Rex and Erica

Rex certainly has an eye for detail. The condo was so well equiped it was unbelievable. Everything from the coffee grinder to an excercise mat and dumbells to cellotape and envelopes. Truly a home from home at the highest standard. We are now spoilt for accomodation elswhere. Not only that but the personal touch from Rex himself and also the every day contact with Lila who looks after the condo for Rex. She really made our stay wonderful and ensured that we wanted for nothing. As it is now cold in the UK please please take us back to paradise!! Cant wait for our next vacation.

I just thought I would write you a short thank you. My wife Cheryl and I stayed at your Pink Plumeria condo from Oct 13th to 25th this year. We are just getting organized at home after our trip and I wanted to let you know that your condo was awesome! We had such a good time and your place was a superb location to stay. The amenities were outstanding and we were certainly impressed with all that was provided. The finishing of the condo, specifically the kitchen, reminded us of our own home and as a result made us feel very welcome. The thought you have put into this place for guests was most definitely appreciated and Lila was very helpful. We especially found the binder to be of great value and it helped us in planning a number of our days. After spending the day trekking around or being on the beach it was wonderful to come back to such a great place, have a drink, prepare dinner and on Friday's watch the fireworks from the lanai. You did not miss a thing putting this together and we can hardly wait to return. Unfortunately, it will have to be at least a year before we can make it back that way again. Thanks again for all your information and making a 25th Wedding Anniversary very special. Tim and Cheryl
Owner response:Mucho mahalos Tim and Cheryl! We really do try and keep up on the condo and the services, and it gives us super satisfaction when our guests have as much fun on Oahu as we do! A hui hou! Rex and Erica

Rex, Thank you for the wonderful condo. My family (2adults and 2 kids) stayed at the Pink Plumeria in July 2008 for 11 days. We absolutely loved it! Your condo was exactly as you stated it was on your website. It was extremely clean and very, very well taken care of. We appreciated all the little extras like boogie boards, goggles, beach mats, maps, guides, bags, beach towels, etc. Everything we needed we found in the condo. The view from the condo was amazing! We especially liked watching the large boats coming into the harbor, the surfers and the sunsets. Having the parking garage attached to the building made it easy for us to get to the condo, especially when you have groceries to carry. The condo had all the amenities you stated, no surprises. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with utensils. Lila was helpful in accommodating our late evening arrival. She checked on us from time to time to see if we needed anything. The location of the condo could not be better. About 5 minute walk to Waikiki beach, 5-10 minute drive to Ala Moana Shopping Center, Sam's Club, Walmart. It made it easy for us to explore easily and avoid some of the traffic. We especially appreciated having wi-fi in the condo. We were able to stay in touch with our families and lookup activities/events happening on the island. Your condo was truly a home away from home for my family. You were prompt in all our email exchanges and very helpful with all my questions. This was my first time using vrbo and was very pleased all around. When we get back to Oahu, because it was truly wonderful, we will definitely stay at the Pink Plumeria again. Thank you so much Rex for everything! Anna Tempe, Arizona
Owner response:Mahalo for your comments Anna. Lila said you and your family had a really good time and left the condo in super good condition. Come back soon! With much Aloha, Rex

Rex: Returned last week from the Pink Plumeria. Your place was just like home only better b/c we were in beautiful Waikiki. We love to go exploring so we really liked that you had the local maps, bus schedules, etc. on hand. They were a plus to us. The Oahu guidebook was like our Bible for the week. Having Internet access was also great. Your kitchen was beautiful. We didn't get to try out our culinary skills in it; there were just too many good restaurants in the area to try out. The hard part was deciding what to have and where to go each night. This is my first experience using Vrbo. At first, I was a bit apprehensive but you have been wonderful. I sure hope everyone on Vrbo is as nice and attentive to deal with as you have been. If we make it back to Waikiki in the future, I will think of you first. Many Mahalos for such a pleasant stay. Jan/Steve
Owner response:Aloha Jan and Steve, Thanks for the maikai (good) comments, and for leaving the condo in such nice condition. Erica. Lila, and I really appreciate that. We are totally stoked that you had such a fun time, and thanks also for keeping in such awesome contact with us. It's the little things like that, that can make such a difference! A hui hou, Rex

Rex, We just returned from a month's stay at your condo. We have been coming to Hawaii every year for the past 15 years and the Pink Plumeria is by far the best place we have stayed in. We've seen lots of condos in Waikiki and your renovations are top notch. You've outfitted the condo with excellent, very comfortable furnishings, beautiful granite countertop, two T.V.'s, and lots of dishes, towels, andd everything you'd ever need for the beach. I particularly appreciated the Internet access. I was able to check the frosty weather temperatures in Canada, while we enjoyed Hawaii's heat and sunshine. Great Place. I'd highly recommend to anyone, and we'll book it for our next trip to Hawaii. Jeff & Peggy
Owner response:Jeff and Peggy, Mucho mahalos to you both. Yes the Weather Channel said it was quite frosty up in Canada and California was kinda chilly as well. We thought of you on the warm and toasty beach every time we got hit by another storm. Mahalo nui for the nice comments. Rex and Erica

Rex,Thank you for a fabulous stay at Waikiki in your condo! The condo has all of the comforts of home, and the view of the Marina is enchanting. We spent many hours sitting at the dining room table enjoying the view and watching the boats. You have thought of nearly everything in amenities. First, I was welcomed with fresh flowers on the table and a bowl of tropical fruit! I later discovered the condo was filled with quality accommodations. For example the refrigerator, blender, TV, stereo, towels, sheets, etc. were all top notch. We also really appreciated the ample number of dishes. It was very convenient to have the ABC store across the street so that we could dine in when we wanted to. We frequently truly enjoyed relaxing and being “at home”.Aside from resting in the condo, I found that it is perfectly situated for both attendance at the Convention Center and for enjoying the fun of Waikiki beach or the Ala Moana park. My conference at the Convention Center was about a 15 minute walk, which is about the shortest walk for any hotel/condo that boarders the ocean. We made the short 5 minute walk to Waikiki several times a day, and later discovered the beauty and calm beach at the Ala Moana park. Although so many things were within walking distance, we did appreciate the ability to park our rental car just steps away from the condo on the same floor. Finally, Lila was very pleasant to work with, and very welcoming! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the “Pink Plumeria”, and we hated to leave! Thanks again!

Rex- My job takes me all over the world (50+ countries, and I almost always stay in 4 or 5 star properties. I would put your condo in the 5 star category for the view (loved watching the boats and the water), the amenities and decor, and also the location (close in, yet away from the crowds). Your condo is "awesome", and it was so easy to settle in and feel at home. We haven't even been back to our home for a week yet, and Jim is aleady asking when we can go back and stay in your condo again. Mahalo Rex & Erica for sharing your beautiful condo with us. 06/19/07 We've just returned from a 7 day stay at the Pink Plumeria and were really impressed with this condo, night and day nicer then the condo that we rented in Maui. The Pink Plumeria looked brand new, totally re-done with quality appointments and tastefully decorated. We cooked most of our meals in the condo and were surprised at how well the kitchen was supplied with dishware and cookware. The location was perfect, we were able to walk to most places and it was in the quieter section of the city and only a few blocks from the convention center. And the ocean views are just spectacular. My wife and I would rent this unit again in in minute based on our experience. Many thanks to owner Rex Walters and condo manager Lila - they could not have been nicer!

05/29/07 We've just returned from a 9 day stay at the Pink Plumeria and were really impressed with this condo! It is totally re-done with quality appointments and tastefully decorated (tropical without being "kitchy"). We were impressed with how comfortable the furnishings are. The kitchen is also well supplied with dishware and cookware. I traveled with my 20 yr old daughter and we appreciated the pull-out privacy door to separate the bedroom & living room. The location is perfect if you want to be in Waikiki but in a quieter section of the city. And the ocean views are just spectacular - we live in the Palm Springs desert area, so viewing the ocean was truly enjoyable. Many thanks to owner Rex Walters and condo manager Lila - they could not have been nicer! We will definitely stay here next time we are lucky enough to be on Oahu!

After my long research of comparing other condo units and hotel rooms, we have no regrets that we chose this beautifully renovated unit. We also enjoyed its very convenient location to Ala Moana Shopping Center, Kuhio Ave. Kalakaua Ave. Sam's, Walmart, and the beaches are just minutes away. We didn't cook anything at all, because there are so many choices of restaurants around the Ilikai area. After we enjoyed good food, we walk back to our unit or get the bus at AMSC (the biggest bus and trolley stop here) to explore other places within Honolulu or other areas of the island. We had view of the wonderful sunsets over the harbor from the couch in the condo. We were blessed with great weather & had a terrific time. We really appreciate the super friendly service by Rex and Lila throughout this vacation. We will definitely keep this unit in mind for our future needs! We will return, soon. Bob and Yoko
Owner response:Yoko was a total blast to deal with and helped me improve my fledgling Japanese! We are so pleased that she and Bob and their family had so much fun! They definitely seem like ohana to us now! Rex

Thank you Rex...We had so much fun. The condo was perfectly situated for visiting with Kristen and Ariel. Their boat was directly in front of us so it was easy to shuttle between the two. They hung out with us after work and we went for drinks and pupu's on the dock with the locals. It was like being at home, only warm & sunny! I especially liked being able to walk to either Waikiki or Ala Moana beach. I also appreciated how clean and well equipped the condo was. It was easy to feel very, very comfortable there. Thanks! Bruce & Caroline
Owner response:Mahalo Bruce and Caroline! You were sooo easy and fun to work with, and left our condo in super-great condition. You are welcome back any time! Rex
