Without question the Stonybrook Condo area is the one of the premier places to stay when you are visiting Stowe. Ideally located midway between the village and the mountain, this condo has breathtaking views over the front lawn, to the rail fence, then to the hay field and historic farm house, and finally on up the valley to a spectacular panorama of both Mt Mansfield and Spruce Peak. Inside are newly renovated baths and bedrooms and a brand new kitchen with new cabinets, floors, silestone counters and high-end appliances. Throughout the unit are dramatic, professionally taken Vermont photos, including ski shots, native scenery and cows from the neighboring farm. While you are visiting, you have no question that you are "in Vermont."
A short distance away, many within walking distance, are a variety of local shops, delicatessens (one of our favorites within walking distance is the Edelweiss and their Vermont home-baked apple pies)and restaurants ranging from excellent pizza houses to fine dining.
At the south end of the Stonybrook property is an enormous wooded ravine which stretches for miles behind nearby farms and with more trails than you can ever cover with one visit, including one trail that leads to a spectacular nearby waterfall. At the north end, for walkers, joggers, runners and bikers, is the mid-point of the famous, paved, 6.5 mile, 'Stowe Rec Path,' which winds its way along the mountain road from the village to the ski area.
And what a mountain it is. Having grown up in mountain country elsewhere, this owner has been amazed at the many moods of Mt Mansfield - from dawn to noon to dusk, from rains and clouds to sunshine. Many of these views have been captured on digital camera and are permanently available for you slideshow viewing on the unit's Panasonic 37" plasma HDTV.
Also for your entertainment, the HDTV includes an HD TiVo DVR, and DVD and VCR players. High speed internet access is available by WiFi connection anywhere in the unit.
For skiing, you already know the answer. The classic and historic Nosedive and National trails on Mt Mansfield early on led the way to Stowe being dubbed 'The Ski Capital of the East.' But then sunnier, gentler Spruce Peak, with its wider trails is also the skier's delight. Whatever your mood for the day, the perfect downhill run awaits you at Stowe.

Fabulous 2 BR Luxury Condo - Ideal Location - Spectacular View
Why the Owner Chose Stowe
With Mom and Dad having honeymooned in Stowe, we always knew we wanted to come back here.
So four years ago, when the whole family rallied once again in Stowe, we were looking this time to return for good, and to find a property with a great view. After two week ends of looking and striking out, we decided to at least wrap up our search with a good Austrian pastry at the Trapp Lodge.
As we broke off the Mountain Road and headed up the road to the Trapps we spotted the Stonybrook grounds and the front line of condos. It was immediately clear to us that if we were to buy in Stowe, this was the place to buy, and if at all possible to try to get one of the front line "Farm Row" units that had the best, and truly breathtaking view of both Mt. Mansfield and Spruce Peak. None were for sale, so we decided to wait it out, and a 18 months later (about three years ago now) we got exactly what we wanted.
Not only did we get a front line, Farm Row unit, we got a unit with a view that probably only 4 or 5 of the other Farm Row units have - i.e the ability to sit in either couch in the Living Room, and see the mountain.
Then we proceeded to completely renovate the condo with the latest appliances and yet with photos and decor such that in every room we and our visitors would have no question that "We are in Vermont"
The pictures below describe the result. As the saying goes, "What you see is what you get," although our guests typically say, "The real thing is even better." We welcome you to come and see for yourself, and make your Vermont vacation dream come true.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
No matter what you are looking for in terms of Summer, Fall and Winter recreational activity, dining, shopping, and general tourist attractions, there is no other town or region in New England that can touch the joys you will experience in a visit to Stowe. There is nothing else like it.
As for Stonybrook, you have it all. You are out of the village and yet you are close to the village. Ten minutes up the Mountain Road in the other direction and you are at the slopes. And you are a walk from the condo to the "little village" which is the intersection of the Mountain Road and Luce Hill Road. There you will find the famous Edelweiss Deli, or a quick drive to nearby Trapp Lodge's Deli where you can pick up one of their famous Linzer tortes. Also in the the little village is Piecasso, the best sit down or takeout pizza restaurant in town, next door another famous general fare restaurant, The Shed, Stowe Dogs Restaurant and Video Rental store across the street, and a bit further down the road a nearby newly opened hamburger stand, the Blue Donkey, whose delicious hamburgers much those of the famous NYC Upper West Side restaurant of the same name.
On the hill behind the condos is a friendly neighbor's majestic farmhouse and fields which are surrounded by woods with miles of trails for your hiking or cross country skiing pleasure.

Dash's picture can also be found on the wall over at Stowe Dogs, the best (only) hot dog stand in Stowe, which is nearby over at the Gale Farm Center, across from Piecasso. On Stowe Dogs' wall are pictures of many local town dogs of the canine variety. We're biased of course, but our vote says Dash tops them all. Go visit and see for yourself!

The owner keeps this unit immaculate and well-stocked so all you need is some time and some food. The location is excellent with access to trail systems including the famous Stowe town bike path. Comfortable for up to 4 - 6 with excellent views down the valley of Mt. Mansfield and surrounding mountains. We all agreed we will rent again.

As a family of 4 ,we spent 5 wonderful days in this condo enjoying the view, the outdoors activities(hiking,crosscountry ski ,down hill ski) all nearby,and the warmth of the well equiped and cozy condo to come back at night(either in the jacuzzi or around the fire place).Most of all we appreciated the attentiveness of the owner, all his recommendations and descriptions were accurate.

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Vermont. The condo was fantastic and we looked forward every morning to the beautiful mountain view!! The location was superb directly next to the recreational path and close enough to the center of town. The owner of the condo, Brooks, was extremely helpful with all of his suggestions for things to do and places to eat in his emails. My wife, father in law and 8 month old had a great visit to Stowe. This condo however took it over the top. The views are awesome and layout great. The owner takes pride in it so everything you need is there whether in the kitchen or in front of the burning fireplace looking over the mountain. I will say, the weather was freezing so no better place to be holed up than there.

I loved my stay at this condo during the fall foliage. The view of Mt. Mansfield was breath taking from the patio doors. This condo really lived up to the pictures on the website. It had been recently upgraded with new kitchen cabinets, new countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms and new wood flooring. The owner emailed me wonderful facts and tips for the area in Stowe. Especially handy was being able to walk out the front door of the condo and be so close to walking and hiking paths.

My family of four (kids ages 4 and 7, younger boy, older girl) loved our trip to Stowe. The condo location is ideal -- walking distance to many fun, delicious restaurants, a short drive to downtown, and a short drive to lots to do should you be so inclined. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, all the amenities, the fabulous view, the helpful owner recommendations, and lovely weather. Our kids enjoyed all the outdoor activities, and became superhikers. We like to joke that we ate & hiked our way through Vermont! The condo is a great fit for a family or two couples, and has everything you need should you wish to dine in or explore Stowe. I enjoyed having my morning coffee while reading on the upper deck, and the kids enjoyed playing outside around the immense property. Thank you Brooks for all your helpful advice -- I think we nearly covered everything, but did leave a bit for a return visit :-).

Great condo in excellent condition! The view from the rear deck is amazing - meadows and mountains. Very comfortable. The nearby Stowe recreation path is great for bike riding and walking. Great restaurants. We have rented this unit 3 years in a row in the summer. The owner is very accomodating; We would recommend to anybody!
