What a great experience to find a rental that exceeds your expectations! The unit was clean, and the furniture was comfortable. We spent hours on the balcony with the binoculars watching the yachts in the bay, that is when we weren't walking the beautiful beach! The owners are very organized, the unit is well equipped and instructions are provided. Linda provided restaurant and local advice. It was nice to print our boarding passes on the computer provided. Wifi is also available. We had a car but you could get along without one here. The beach is rocky right out front but just a couple minutes walk it is all sand if you like to swim in the ocean. We brought our snorkels and though there was not much to see on our beach, we enjoyed Pinel Island and had a great lunch at the Yellow Beach Bar there. We tried many on Linda's suggested restaurants and were not disappointed. We loved the Yacht Club on the right hand side over the bridge and breakfast was good both at Vesna's Tavern and the Atlantica Bakery on the Main Street. We love St Maarten and would certainly stay at the lovely Sea Place Villa again.

I think this is our sixth year at Seaplace Villa, but could be more. We have loved it from the start and are eternally grateful that someone like Linda owns it, keeps it so beautifully maintained and furnished, and shares it with others. For whatever reason I have not visited the website and did not see all the reviews of others who have shared this little piece of Paradise. I absolutely agree with all of the accolades they have piled on in their reviews except I take issue with the folks that weren't too crazy about the neighborhood. Frankly it is just one more thing that we find charming, interesting, and lovable about this place. We chat with young James across the street nearly every day. He is just a fine boy. Everyone on the street is friendly. This year we found a new surprise. Two doors down a lady does fabulous Bar B Que every Sunday on the beach. Never get that at some manicured resort. Herimine, Jean, and Val are the best. I guess the best testament we can give is our continued rental for a month every year. Wouldn't consider anyplace else on the island.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Hi Linda Arrived for the second time stay..It just gets better and better each time we visit your home away from home..The weather was good and the view was fantastic always something happening on the bay, Your condo was lovely as usual . Hermaine does a wonderful job keeping it nice and clean, and any thing you want to know she is always near by. What a wonderful lady. Thank you Linda for making our vacation a memorable and joyous time, felt like home with all the conveniences.The blender and the bbq are always an added attraction. We rented a car for one week and the second week we were very content laying by the pool and walking uptown, the path comes in very handy. Everyone we met were all enjoying themselves and very friendly..That's what holidays are all about..Great place..Can't wait till next year

Hi Linda, Once again our holiday was Tres Magnifique! This was our third trip to St. Martin, and the second time we have stayed at Sea Place. (It was reserved last year) Sea Place is spectacular, you have thought of everything. Each morning we would walk the few blocks to Atlantica French Bakery for fresh pastries then return and have breakfast on the veranda. One day, we took the beach chairs and lunch to Orient Beach and spent the day. Another day we took the ferry to St. Barts. We used Great Bay Express in Philipsburg (Bobby's Marina) The fare was $80 round trip. Parking was easy and plentiful. Late afternoons would find us at the Yacht Club Marina to watch the yachts coming and going. In the evenings we would enjoy dinner out, Marios Bistro on Christmas night, and Il Nettuno, in Grand Case on Christmas Eve. This year we found that Restaurants in Grand Case, Marigot, and Sandy Ground, that charge in Euros, no longer accept "tips" charged to credit cards. They ask that tips be in cash. Each evening we would choose a restuarant from your list and were not disappointed. Perhaps one of the best kept secrets in Cole Bay Sint Maarten is Cafe on the Bay. Great food and service. They also have happy hour. We spent many hours on the beach or at the pool just relaxing. It doesn't get any better than that. Thank you so much for sharing Sea Place with us. We are already looking forward to next year.

Just got home from our third trip to St. Maarten. We enjoyed an 8 day stay at Sea Place Villa with friends who have never been out of the States before. We are all ready to go back soon! Sea Place Villa's location is excellent, very convenient to groceries and restaurants. The property was spotless and well-maintained. We have never stayed at a VRBO that was so thorough in providing information on everything one might need during a stay. Pineapple Pete's, Karakter Bar, Peg Leg Pub and IZU are a must. Pizza at Buccaneer Beach Bar was fabulous.....I could go on and on. Don't forget to try one of the lolos in Grand Case!! Baie Rouge and Cupecoy are two of our favorite beaches. Owner very helpful throughout rental process. We look forward to returning to Sea Place Villa!!

I am not good at writing things like this, but the condo was exactly as described. When you are there, you can quickly tell that the owners have made sure that you have EVERYTHING you need....towels, grill, beach chairs, floats, goggles, etc... Tons of places to eat and drink within walking distance, as well as a huge grocery store. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to a friend. If you are fancy, the neighborhood will give you pause, but we found the people in the neighborhood to be very nice and walked through it all hours with no problems.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: La Siesta Residence and many of the other new oceanfront properties on Simpson Bay are neighbors to many small Creole style houses of working class families that have lived in this neighborhood for years. Their homes are quite modest and much older when compared to the new properties. Vacationing in a residential neighborhood offers the expereince of how local families live which is a different experience from vacationing in a resort setting. As described, the center of town is a convenient 4 block walk if you don't care to drive. It's always a pleasure to know that our guests enjoyed thier stay and that our accommodations met your expectations. Thank you for taking the time to submit a review.

Linda, Just to let you know that we got home yesterday to a cold and windy Boston and are already missing warm and sunny St. Maarten. We had a truly wonderful 2 weeks at Sea Place, and would happily recommend it to all of our friends. In fact, we are seriously thinking of coming back next year. We thorougly enjoyed sitting out on the balcony, looking out at the beach, the bay, and all those lovely sailing boats. It was so relaxing, with a glass of wine in hand. We always try to find a self-catering villa or apartment for our main vacation, and we found Sea Place to be the best equipped of anywhere we have stayed, everything we could have wanted was provided in our apartment. It seems you have thought of everything, from the computer, the telephone with local and US calls, to towels and the fully stocked kitchen. Really, we found everything we needed to make our stay stress free. Thank you for all the information you provided, we had some great meals out and had a really great relaxing vacation. Condo Accomodations excellent, location ok, basic utilities a problem.

My husband and I spent our a week at this condo in November. The Pros: The condo itself is just as pictured. Very spacious and clean with a great view of Simpson Bay. Apparently Simpson Bay is normally pretty calm and good for snorkeling, but unfortunately the bay was very rough when we were there, due to Hurricane Tomas, so snorkeling was out of the question The King bed in the master was very comfortable and having the computer to check in online for our flight was a plus. The location was close to the town of Simpson Bay, although we weren't comfortable walking the area at night. Definately rent a car - not enough to do in the immediate area to walk to and the best part of our vacation was exploring the island and all it's beaches. The caretakers and housekeeper were really nice and stopped by a number of times to check on us and see if we needed anything. Grocery store on the main road that had just about everything we needed. Pool area small, but right on the beach. Cons: The island itself is not very pretty, beaches are gorgeous, but once you leave the beach you feel like you are in a Third World country. Abandoned and stripped cars everywhere, stray, skinny dogs (very hard to see by a dog lover), alot of poverty amongst the very wealthy. When you read the instructions on what to do in case of a power outage - please read carefully. Lucky for us I was still in the condo when we lost the power the first time (my husband had gone for a walk) so I was able to read how to get the key from the lock box. A young couple in bldg. A were not so lucky. In the 6 days we were there we lost power 4 out of the 6 days and had no water starting at about 7am and lasted the first two days till about 10am. Not sure when it finally came back on our last day there as we left for the airport at 1pm and still had no power or water. Thank god for the pool. Hope they didn't mind we washed our hair in it. I kind of think power and water are pretty basic ammenities to ask for on vacation. It had absolutely nothing to do with the weather. The first morning we lost power we walked to town to make a reservation for a catamaran trip (the highlight of our week) and everyone had power. I asked if they had lost it and they said no. Seemed to be just in our area or buildings. The caretaker said it happens all the time. Not informed of this prior. As much as we liked the spacious accomodations, I'll stay at a resort next time, although not in St. Maarten.

Hey Linda- It was a pleasure meeting you last week – and I have to tell you this St. Martin vacation was our best yet. We thoroughly enjoyed the condo – it is absolutely beautiful and had everything we could have wanted. I especially appreciate that you have nice linens in the condo! We have had some pretty bad experiences elsewhere! The kitchen was also very well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, etc. And the washer and dryer really helped also. It was also nice that you gave tips on where to eat – our favorites were Saratoga, Topper’s and Le Travestin (sp). Also, we went to the French bakery almost every day – they make wonderful omelettes in addition to the great pastries. We also had good food at Pizza Galley and at one of the lolo’s in Grand Case! We tried to go to Karakter’s Friday night but they were closed – maybe too much wind and rain? Turtle Pier was O.K. but we did not care for Zee Best. We never made it to Mario’s Bistro – next time for sure! Robert went diving, snorkeling and kite surfing. We went on the Rhino Riders Friday morning and got soaked in the rain. At any rate – you have a beautiful condo and a great location. We are definitely coming back to stay at your place again! Thanks for your hospitality, Patty

Hi Linda, I cannot tell you enough how much we enjoyed our stay! Of all the luxury rentals we’ve stayed in yours was by the far the most perfectly supplied with absolutely everything we could ever need! The extra towels, paper goods, binoculars (which we used all the time to watch the boats!) were all just enormously appreciated! What a beautiful island, with wonderful people, great food and spectacular beaches. I can see what keeps you coming back! Our favorite spots- Karacter Bar just down the beach from the house for drinks and lunch, Johnny under the Tree for local fare, Mullet Beach and of course Orient Beach. We just returned home from St. Martin @ 3am. It was fabulous, the villa was great, perfect location, breathtaking views. We loved the large balcony, that's basically where we lived; I even slept there one night. You are very lucky to have such a nice, professional and responsible staff there. They were very helpful and friendly. Special thanks to the gentleman that showed up every morning to clean the pool, rake the sand and remove the seaweed. The extra things you thought of (shampoo, body wash, Tide, beach chairs and rafts etc.) were very much appreciated. I already miss having my coffee this morning without looking at the sailboats, cruise ships and gorgeous Caribbean ocean. We will definitely go again and recommend your villa to our friends. Hi Linda – Once we got home from St Maarten we had Christmas Plans in New Orleans so I am just now trying to catch up.We had just a lovely time at Sea Place Villa. It was everything we had hoped for. Hi Linda, Tres Magnifique!! Your villa is spectacular. We loved everything about it and the beautiful island so much we hated to leave. Everyday we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast on the veranda, after a quick trip to the French Bakery, and planned the rest of our day. We spent many hours on the beach reading and relaxing. But found time to explore the island and hob nob with some of the locals and shop. Every afternoon we would go to the Yacht Club to watch the boats coming and going. Christmas Eve we had dinner at Saratoga, Christmas Night at Mario's Bistro, and our last night we dined at Bistrot Caraibes in Grand Case. The restaurants were everything you said they would be and it was nice to have the list of so many to choose from. We have been numerous times to the Cayman Islands, and St. Thomas, but this by far was our favorite place to visit. Again, thank you so much for sharing Sea Place with us. Nancy

Dear Linda, I wanted to thank you for letting us rent your condo for our vacation at Sea Place May 3-17/09. We had a fabulous time and your villa is beautiful. The holiday was more wonderful than I anticipated. The scenery is spectacular and the weather was perfect, with the odd sprinkle during the day. Shopping in Phillipsburg was so much fun, Dennis picked up a couple of new watches. We drove all over the island, visiting the Westin(loved this hotel), Butterfly farm, Grand Case(had lunch at Tastevin-very nice!), visited La Samanna, Sunset Bar at Maho etc, etc, etc. We went out every night for dinner, we went to Saratoga twice-it was fabulous! Never made it to Mario's in Sandy Ground, although we saw it driving through, but our next favourite restaurant was Rare at Atlantis Casino, our meal there was spectacular! Also enjoyed La Gondala, Bamboo Bernies for sushi, Skipjacks for a 5 pound lobster-yikes! (we shared it!), The Hideaway(very cute). Went to Peg Leg twice-they were great there, had the surf and turf with the free bottle of wine. Also visited Mary Boons-it was very cute but our least favourite meal. ok food, nothing special. But a very cute kind of bed and breakfast place. My favourite part was the French side, you just knew when you were there. All the rock fences and their roads are so much better. THe traffic going towards Cole Hill and Phillipsburg some days was so congested-but hey, we were on holidays. Ermine and her daughter Kandy, were very nice and they didn't have to do much as I am a clean freak and even Ermine said we were very neat and she doesn't get many people like us that are so tidy, because she said alot of people are very messy. It was one of my favourite trips and we will return for sure. Maybe in 3 years as we are off to Pto. Vallarta next May and then Hawaii again 2011. There is this wonderful dog that camps out around the condo everyday. He is brown and has a very curly tail. I named him Sparky but others were calling him Simpson. He is the nicest dog and he became so protective of us and the other renters at Sea Place. Thanks again and have a wonderful summer! Best wishes, Nancy

Linda, There is a little restaurant/bar past Mary's Boon called Karacter. Free chairs, good food and good drinks. Well worth a recommendation. Restaurant is a bus. Your place is the nicest out of 15 we've stayed in in the Carribean. Thanks much, John

Linda, Good morning. My new best friend. :) I returned from ST Martin on Wednesday eve and missing it already. Now I'm here in cold Washington DC on business through Tuesday. 86 degrees to 18 degrees. Linda I love your villa it was perfect in every way. You made my short vacation home away from home. You really pay attention to detail. I have been called a hotel snob by family and friends. Most people feel that as long as the bed is clean and the fact that your not spending a lot of time in the room your ok. Not me, I enjoy having a comfortable villa/room to relax in when I not on the beach or out on the town. Thank you again for the opportunity to enjoy Sea Place it was fabulous.

Hi Linda,We returned from island paradise last night. We loved your place so much – the location is perfect and you had thought of anything we might possibly need! Hermine did a great job with keeping the sand level down and things looking good. We hope to return, and especially to get Barbara down there – she is the person who arranged everything, but could not go. Hey Linda, Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us. It is so beautiful. Our husbands loved watching the Mega Yachts all week and we all enjoyed the gorgeous beach. We believe that Simpson Bay is one of the prettiest and calmest beaches on St. Martin. We had such a great time. Tamara and Ermma were fantastic! They take good care of your property. We rented a car, but on New Years Eve we called for a cab that never showed and the security guard helped us find one. Everyone was fantastic! We did wind up doing a private catamaran charter that took us to Anguilla. Fantastic day. We visited several different beaches there and had a great time. Once again, thanks you have a beautiful condo. We will check with you again for future rentals.

Linda, I am sorry it has taken me so long to write....since early Tuesday I have been telling John and Alex that I must write to you. I have been so busy enjoying your absolutely lovely apartment and beach that I just haven't seemed to be able to find the time to sit down at the computer! Anyway, I just wanted you to know how very much we enjoy/have enjoyed your home. Every detail has been taken care of, there isn't anything more we could want than what is provided here. Everything is so comfortable....from the sheets to the lounge chairs! That may sound silly, but it really does add up, and you or your 'designer' did it right. We approach this evening with heavy hearts, knowing that tomorrow we must leave. However, we have had an absolutely fantastic time here, and are very thankful. We all needed a good rest, and we certainly got it. I could stay another several weeks and not feel like I needed to do anything more than gather groceries and go to the beach. Thank you for your attention to detail! You most certainly have the nicest place on Simpson Beach. We have had a couple of wonderful dinners out, and have also had some great dinners in. We have enjoyed the grill. As I said above, I had planned to write to you days ago to tell you how much we were enjoying your place. And here it is, Saturday night. We are off to Grand Case for a last French dinner, and will then enjoy our last night of sleeping to the crash of the waves on the shore. And then it's back to DC to work and real life! My husband Walt and I rented the Sea Place Villa the week of April 19, 2008. The condo is beautifically decorated and very well maintained - it has all the comforts of home - the ability to connect to family in the US through internet and telephone was a plus - the view looking out onto the ocean with all of the boats was to long for everyday - the sand and beach is unbelievable - walking distance to lots of restaurants - lots of nightlife - watersports and casinos - at the same time the condo and its location is serene and quaint - I would recommend this condo above any hotel or timeshare - and I will rent again -- this condo was well worth the money.

Dear Linda: Just to let you know we are having the time of our lives at your gorgeous sea place villa. It is just beautiful. I love everything you have done to it. It looked great from the pictures, but the reality is even better. Jean, Hermine, and Candy are all doing great to keep the place clean and organized. I love the guy who tends so lovingly to the beach and grounds. We would definitely like to return next February. Thanks for having such a great place.

Hi Linda, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to let you know how our trip went last month. Work has been crazy ever since we've gotten back. We had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back!!!! Sea Place was way better than we ever expected. We've never done a villa rental before so we weren't sure what to expect. You have an amazing place! We were all sad to have to leave our dogs at home so it was a nice surprise to have Simpson (the property dog) around. What a sweetheart! We wanted to take him back to Michigan but then realized why would a dog want to give up the beaches for snow. :) Hermine was very sweet and did a great job with housekeeping. We didn't have much need to talk to Jean but she seemed nice when we met her. St. Martin was our best trip ever. The beaches were awesome. We enjoyed driving around the island and getting to know all the quaint little towns. We happened to go to Grand Case on a Tuesday and found out they have a local Mardi Gras festival on Tuesday nights. We stayed all day so we could enjoy the festivities that evening. What a great little town! We found most of the local people on the island very friendly. We can't wait to go back! Have a good day! Thanks, Lisa

Dear Linda,Keith and I just wanted to drop you an email to let you know how much we enjoyed the use of your condo here in St Maarten. First of all the condo itself is absolutely beautiful. Not only do you have a spectacular Caribbean Sea beach view but also the unit itself is colorfully decorated and appointed very nicely. Last night our local island realtor Mark Sheik dropped by to discuss a possible purchase of a villa that were anticipating. He was thoroughly impressed with your choice of furnishing and color palate. He said that he had been in many units throughout has career here on the island and was totally amazed at how wonderful this particular unit was decorated. I do not believe you can receive a more superb validation than that by Mr. Sheik.Your staff here on the island has been a delight to service our needs. Jean Christian has been prompt and courteous for every request. Our house keeper “Hermie” has not only been very, very through in performing her duties but an absolute delight to talk with. Her upbeat demeanor and ever present smile brightens an already beautiful sun lit day.Again this is truly a wonderful condo and vacation spot. We have frequently visited Maho and Great Bay resorts. They can not even begin to compare to this vacation experience. We look forward to leasing your condo from you in the near future. Dear Linda, We just returned from Seaplace on 10/29. Your villa is lovely and very well furnished with a gorgeous view and beach. Your information packet is very thorough representation of the villa and its amenities. We had a wonderful visit to St Martin. We were very impressed and plan to return. Hi Linda, We arrived to villa yesterday. Wonderful to be here, its a gorgeous place and we are very happy. You have thought of everything and all aspects, it seems and much, much more. Dear Linda, Your condo is beautiful and we all enjoyed it. We celebrated Alan's actual birthday in your condo. We hired a chef from Chef's de France and they cooked a beautiful and delicious dinner. My kids set up the table on the deck and we were served outside, with just the sound of the waves. Need I say more? It was a night we will all remember. Thanks again, it was a dream come true.
