Hale O Kohala - Kona Coast, Big Island, Hawaii Vacation Home Hale O Kohala (Whale House) is located in beautiful and tropical Kona Paradise/Captain Cook on the Big Island of Hawaii. From the Lanai and Living Room you can view the beautiful ocean views and sunsets that Hawaii has to offer. Even possibly see the Whales breech during migration. There is a very quiet and private beach at the end of the road approximately one minute away where you can swim, snorkel, kayak, or scuba dive. The house is located in a very relaxing neighborhood, away from the tourist areas. Hale O Kohala is tastefully decorated in Island decor for that tropical, casual feel. This area of South Kona is a great location for exploring the island. Visit the Place of Refuge, snorkel at Captain Cook's monument, visit world famous black sand beaches, surf Ke'ei Beach, drive approximately 70 miles to Volcanoes National Park or shop in Kailua-Kona approximately 25 miles away. The drive to Kailua takes approximately 40 minutes and the drive to the airport takes approximately one hour.
