  Our family (adults & children) stayed here for a weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely place. Once you enter the gate, you are in a lushly landscaped property filled with palm trees, fireplaces, a pool and two hot tubs. The huge tropical yard, more than makes up for the smallish main house. Although, the main house & cottage are very charming & thoroughly decorated in a rustic, chic style. Attention to detail has really been done here (i.e. rock showers, Koi pond, fireplaces, bar) We had a great time enjoying the outdoors. It was so relaxing not to have to worry about disturbing neighbors, because their aren't any! Highly recommend a stay here!

  We just had our wedding a couple of weeks ago at Rolling Thunder Ranch, and it blew everyone away, even ourselves. I had only seen the property via internet photos since my husband was the one who went to check it out so when I got to the property the day before the wedding it was like getting the best gift ever. You can tell the property is amazing via the photos but they don't convey the magical energy that you feel when you enter the the place. From the buffalo cottage to the outdoor fireplaces, to the main house and pool area, every detail was a treat. We even made our floral arrangements for the wedding tables from flowers we found in the garden. To this day, we are still getting comments from our friends and family about how our wedding was the most magical and beautiful ceremony they had ever been to. Lisa, the owner, is super nice and very accommodating. She is also very laid back and not in your face like other rental owners can be. She granted all our requests and even went out of her way to find last minute accommodations for some of our guests who couldn't find a hotel in town. Her assistant Shepard is also very nice. They gave us the house in perfectly clean condition. And both the house and the cottage have great ammenities. I could go on and on but you should go experience this place for yourself. No need to throw a wedding or big party, just rent it with your friends or family.

  I stayed in Rolling Thunder Ranch with my family. I must say the Lisa was are very deserving of the glowing reviews on this site. First, the management. From the moment we booked, we felt that the property owners were extremely friendly and helpful, willing to provide any help and suggestion we inquired about. They were very responsive to email queries and all the arrangements. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the individuals running Rolling Thunder Ranch. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, tastefully decorated, classy yet comfortable, Wi fi access, huge garden, 2 spa, amazing pool and hammocks for relaxation. The interior was stunning with artistic details, rock showers, koi fish ponds in the middle of the living room. A unique experience in beautiful Ojai. We even had our own organic garden. You will struggle to find anything to complain about.

  My wife and I got married at Meditation Mount in Ojai and rented Rolling Thunder Ranch and Eden for friends and family respectively to stay in. First, the people who rent the houses are very cool and a pleasure to deal with. Next, the properties are just stunning. All the friends who stayed at Rolling Thunder loved the it and had a great time. Two of the bedrooms lack bathrooms and are pretty basic / not so luxurious, but the grounds are absolutely beautiful and the property was just such a great place to spend a weekend. We highly recommend it!

  We stayed at Rolling Thunder for a week with my husband's family (parents, sister, brother in law and three children). The property is magical, palm trees everywhere and a very cosy main cabin house and buffalo cottage. We threw our wedding reception on the property, and all of our guests are STILL remarking on what an amazing find (as we live in the UK, it was all done online, so could have been a disaster!) Lisa and Jerry were incredibly helpful, with suggestions and answers to all of our questions, including even finding us a guide who took us to the hot springs to watch the sunrise. Can't say enough good things about the property! Its very much a home away from home vibe, its intimate enough, but with areas all over the place for little dinners on your own etc. With all of those things combined, it is a great place to take for a week or however long you may need it!

  We stayed at the Rolling Thunder Ranch for about a month and loved every minute of it! This property is full of character and truly is the way it is described. The photos do not even do it justice. There were many features of the property that were impressive: multiple fireplaces, Koi ponds in the living room next to the fireplace, the stone countertops and flooring in the kitchen, all of the cool lighting outside, the beautiful plants/trees/flowers, the multiple seating options outside, pool, jacuzzi, tiki torches and so much more. The master bathroom has a shower that is so amazing, you feel like you are at a spa retreat while showering. You notice there is an impressive attention to detail at this house and it is also kept very clean. The property is very private and quiet, which we loved. We enjoyed practicing yoga on the grass as well as taking bike rides and jogging in the nearby neighborhood. We had a party one night and utilized the outdoor dining table and fireplace and everybody loved it! It really feels like you are staying at a Tropical Paradise. Highly recommended!!

  To begin, I have been using VRBO rentals for many years now, I'm hooked ... but this is my first review; I'm just not big on reviews. I've had different experiences, from really unpleasant (one in Manhattan, NY) to really nice ones. This property was one that even I can't stop writing or talking about, so here is my review: We couldn't have found a better place for my father's 70th birthday celebration! This was a wonderful experience for all 13 of us in the family, from the 4 year old to the 85. The property is really as discribed and a lot more; everything is really well thought out and designed to make visitors feel welcome and provide ultimate comfort. There are many little features, either in the house/cottage or ouside that make one smile and say "wow!"I don't want to give out those small secrets here, as you need to find them out yourselves, but I have to say that we loved the place and can't wait to find another occasion and reason to return. The property is very clean, the bedrooms and the beds are nice. One thing to keep in mind is if you have many singles in the group, you may need to ask for additional rollaways if they can't sleep in the same beds. The beds comfortably fit 13, 10 of whom will have to be on the same beds. Read the bed arrangements carefully. The kitchen is really fully equipped, it is not an overstatement; you can find all sorts of spices, variety of vinegars, olive oils, and anything else you may find in your own kitchen. So for those that are planning to stay here and cook your meals, you'll feel like home!!! Being here only for a weekend was too short, but even with that we felt like we were gone for a while, since the grounds are so beautifully landscaped, you feel like you're in some jungle or forest, with calmness and serenity surrounding you, a perfect place to disconnect from the daily stressful life. Besides all this, I have to say that I had a wonderful experience arranging our stay with Lisa. She's very accomodating and responsive; helped with bed arrangements. She also offered entertainment options, and being a special celebration, she helped me book two fire dancers. It was a very nice surprise for everyone, especially in that jungle setting outside by the fireplace. Perfect ambiance! It was a pleasure meeting you Lisa!!! We will definitely see you again :) I recommend this property with 2 thumbs up, I'd raise more if I had them :)))

  Stayed here for 4 days with my family from England and enjoyed evey minute of it. This is truly a tropical paradise in the heart of beautiful Ojai. Dinners outside around the giant fireplace was great. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy quality family time then this is it!

  Awesome property, extremely private, accommadating for large groups to visit, lots of character. We wanted a place to visit with a large number of family members and this was perfect, also, close to town and biking trail. We can't wait to do it again.
