Charming, affordable, and comfortable studio apartment near the parish church in colonia San Antonio, a vibrant, lively, safe, convenient neighborhood in beautiful, historic San Miguel de Allende. There are events almost daily at the church plaza - fireworks sending prayers to heaven, weddings, festivals, and a regular Sunday market.
Close to the center of town, and located in the residence of an artist, the apartment is an easy, almost flat walk of less than 15 minutes to the Jardin. The apartment consists of one room with a kitchenette and full bath (shower only, no tub). There's a patio, with table and chairs.
Cable TV, wired/wireless internet access, and VoIP phone are provided.
Fully furnished with linens and towels provided. Cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, toaster and coffee maker. Plenty of dishes and kitchen stuff. Maid service 3 times/week.
The apartment is heated to keep you comfortable if the evening is chilly. Winter in San Miguel is brief and mild by northern standards, but you'll appreciate the electric blanket if you visit in January.
There are many restaurants of all prices and variety in the neighborhood. I love the sliding patio roof (and the food!) at Hecho en Mexico. There's great pizza, inexpensive but wonderful Italian food, a memorable south Asian restaurant, BBQ, and all manner of Mexican cuisine in the area. Shopping is likewise varied and abundant. The Farmacia Guadalajara is open 24x7! If you're restless, walk the Salida a Celaya to the Maple Bakery or even Pollo Feliz or MEGA.
There are tennis courts and gym up the street, down the street from the house.
Secure parking is available across the street for a small fee.
We're close to Instituto Allende and other local attractions.
Very convenient to transportation. Taxis are easy to find and charge 20 pesos to most destinations. Buses ply the Ancha San Antonio, a block away. Your feet, in good walking shoes, will take you almost anywhere you want to go in San Miguel. Sometimes it's nice to have a ride!
