The lake is beautiful, the cottage is very cosy and comfortable, the hosts - Carol and Al - are very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time swimming in the lake, going to the woods and just sitting on the deck watching sunset. I hope to come here again.

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay at this property. He went earlier than I did to meet his college age son to go fishing on the lake. They had great success and a great time. I came later and it was just wonderful. Carol was so helpful and lovely - she even found my beloved pearl necklace and sent it my way after I left. I especially loved kayaking around the lake and just sitting on our own private dock. Wonderful!
Owner response:We are so glad that we could host your reunion with your son and you could enjoy our lovely cottage with pristine lake and all it offers, kayaking, fishing etc. Glad your pearls got back safely. We hope to see you again!

We loved being on this gorgeous lake during our hot July vacation. The water was crystal clear and you could see down to the bottom when the sun hit it just right. We got to hear the loons most every night, saw a great blue heron fly overhead and land in a nearby wetland, and watched turtles, fish, and otters swim. My husband's favorite pastime was kayaking, reading in the hammock, and sitting on the dock. My favorite was the swimming, reading on the sleeping porch, and sketching the gardens and the amazing lake view. The cottage itself was charming and spotless with lots of quilts and pillows, beautiful artwork of the lake's wildlife (many of them by the cottage owner), VERY comfortable beds, and newly renovated bathroom and sleeping porch. We did some site-seeing to The Fells, Hood Museum, antique and art shops, and restaurants -- all very enjoyable! -- but we made them all half day trips so we could spend the other half at the lake. The owners are super nice. If you want to unwind and relax, I would highly recommend this vacation spot!

My husband and I stayed in the cozy cottage the last week in June and the first week in July. We loved kayaking with the loons on the very tranquil lake. Carol was very helpful and has stocked the cottage with all the right things. Fourth of July on the lake was a real treat as everyone lit flares and several families set off fireworks. We loved our stay at Damselfly Cottage.

My family stayed at the cottage for two weeks in July of 2009, and had one of the most wonderful vacations ever! The house itself is clean, comfortable and very homey. We had 2 adults and 2 children, yet it was very spacious. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, and were always there to assist with anything, including the lending of lake "toys" for the kids. The lake is pristine, and the kayaking, boating and swimming is fantastic. Nearby, we found lovely biking and hiking trails. If you're looking for a wonderful vacation location, believe me, this is it!

We came to NH in late June looking for a relaxing get away and found it at Damselfly cottage. It was close enough to NH attractions for daytrips or we could just stay at the cottage to enjoy the peace and quiet. Blaisdell Lake provided peaceful canoing and atleast 1 loon. There were several good restaurants nearby if we didn't feel like cooking. Carol and Al were friendly and helpful. It was just what we needed.

It is definately a piece of heaven. My husband and I discovered the cottage ten years ago and have been visiting ever since. It is peaceful, quiet and calm - a delightful place to restore your life to order. Just imagine sitting on the dock, watching the loons and the boaters with your book in your lap - that you never seem to open. You feel like you're home, with wonderful friends as neighbors.

Book it!! It's a lovely, clean cottage on a very nice, quiet lake. If you don't feel like lounging in a lakeside hammock, swimming, kayaking, or doing other lake activities, you could always play horseshoes or go hiking on Mt. Kearsarge or golfing at one of the nearby courses. We highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed!
