Ok, you have arrived - freshen up a little and prepare for a great time. Grab one of the bikes and ride or walk down to the best beach in Hilton Head, it is only a five-minute bike ride away. If you prefer to drive you can drive down to the Dunes Beach house which is handicapped accessible and has bathroom facilities. Walk out to the Carolina room or down to the dock and enjoy the flora and fauna and a panoramic view of the 11-mile lagoon system.
Book a tee time for golf at one of the 20 on island golf courses or 15 off island courses (you are within a half hour of 30 or more golf courses). Take the children over to Shelter Cove to watch the fireworks on Tuesday evening and participate in the myriad of entertainment available nightly in Shelter Cove.
You will be more than comfortable in this 3,100 square foot home located on the 11-mile lagoon system. Completely redecorated in 2010, it features a fully-equipped, eat-in kitchen, laundry room, and formal dining room. The vaulted TV room (family room), vaulted living room (with wood-burning fireplace), and master bedroom with king-size bed and attached glamour bath all have walls of glass overlooking the deck, back yard, and lagoon. There are two other spacious bedrooms located on the first floor, one with a queen-size bed and the other with twin beds and a Jack-and-Jill bathroom between them.
On the second floor there is a great bedroom for children with two twin Pullman-style beds, an office, and another TV room with a big screen television, and the third full bathroom. Both the sofa in the upstairs TV room and the one in the family room are convertible to queen-size beds.
As you start thinking about dinner, how about a canoe ride on the lagoon. We provide the canoe. Interested in fishing use the 14' tracker boat which is electrically powered or fish from the dock. Red fish, sheepshead, mullet etc. have all been caught right from the dock. Cocktails anybody? Whip up a margarita and relax out on the dock as you watch the sun start to fade and other boaters float by. Another perfect day in Hilton Head.

We just returned from a wonderful week at 55 Port Tack. The house was spacious and comfortable. Perfect office upstairs for our son-in-law, that had to bring work. We have been vacationing in Hilton Head since 1990 and this was the first week ever, that my husband enjoyed the whole week. He loved the fishing and the amenties that came with the house. Barbara, thank you so much for sharing your home with us!
Owner response:Wow, thank you Margaret, for that wonderful review - I am so glad you enjoyed yourself - I hope you are able to stay with us again sometime. Barbara

Our family had a wonderful vacation while staying at this property. Our elementary aged kids loved fishing and boating on the lagoon behind the house. The house is beautifully decorated, spacious, and very clean. It was located in a very quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors and was a pleasant walk or short bike ride to the beach. Nearby tennis courts and pool were nice bonus. The owners were very attentive and quick to respond to any questions/concerns we had before and during our stay. We would choose to stay here again and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to vacation on Hilton Head.
Owner response:thank you so much - I hope we can accomodate you again sometime in the future. Barbara

We have just come back from our stay in your vacation property on HHI. We all LOVED it and did not want to leave. Thank you for contributing to a memorable family vacation. Your neighbors Connie & Tom (?) are wonderful. Attached is a small pic of a 15lb red drum that I caught from the dock on the lagoon (light tackle, crab bait and a fish net that was WAY too small to land it).

This home is a very good value, and located within walking or biking distance to the beach. The lagoon system is nice and full of fish (red fish, trout, and tarpon). The Robert Trent Jones course is very close to this property and one of the top 100 in the world. Shelter Cove is also very close with lots of family entertainment. The home is open and bright and worked very well for our large group of 8 adults and 6 kids.
