It's hard to even know where to start! At first I was a little hesistant to book through this owner because there was no contract and I was basically sending cash (check) to her which made me a little nervous. Lola sent me confirmation through email and everything worked out just fine. So don't let that stop you from booking here. This was the best vacation my husband and I have ever had. This condo is in a perfect location for those they don't want the activity of nightlife in Tamarindo. It's quiet, secure and we felt very safe there the whole time. The condo is better than what I was expecting. Nothing fancy, but simple, clean and comfortable. We were out and about most of the time anyway, so we never look to spend a lot on housing when we travel. We spend our $ on excursions and what not instead. We used the pool everyday and enjoyed the quick access to the beach for early AM walks and PM sunsets. We did rent a car and found it helpful to have to go to the grocery, beach and restuarants each day if you don't feel like cooking. I am glad we had a car because we did not cook much. We did walk to Cala Luna for breakfast and dinner which is just down the street. The service was great and so was the food. We loved the Langosta area. Langosta Beach Club is a great place to hang out for the day and it's pretty cheap to do so. We took surf lessons at Kelly's, sunset cruise through Marlin del Rey, went fishing, and finished our week with a full day at Los Altos de Eros spa on the moutain. The spa day was pricey, but totally worth it and a great way to spend your last day on vacation. Lola and the folks at RPM can also help you book trips. Best prices on groceries are at the SuperCompro in town. AutoMercado is nice, but pricier. We rented a vehicle with Poas as suggested by Lola. Had a few issues mechanically with the car, but in the end they made everything right. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and we will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We were here 10 years ago to get married, and we returned to renew our vows with our 5 and 7 y/o sons. This was the perfect location for our family. Langosta is nice and quiet, the market is just up the road, and the pool is about 7 steps away from the condo. My boys are like fish so they lived in the pool. Perfect for us as our boys are great swimmers. Maybe not so great for much younger kids, or ones that don't swim as well, as there is no safety gate. The unit was the perfect set up for us. Not fancy, but functional, clean, safe, quiet and affordable. What more could we ask for?! Surfing breaks are just a short walk down the beach. For a more mellow beach experience head into town. No rocks and kinder waves. We went to the Langosta Beach Club several times. For a fee you have access to their gym, pool and beach. Yummy cocktails too! It's about a 15 minute walk down the road. Not bad at all. Lola in the management office is amazing and very helpful. She arranged transportation from the airport for us, daily exclusions and a baby sitter. Sol was our sitter. She is a wealth of information and we wish we could take her with us. Absolutely made our trip! Our boys asked every night if Sol could come over. She is an event planner too and arranged almost everything for our vow renewal. Try the breakfasts a Sueno del Mar. A B&B just a short walk up the beach. The French toast is out of this world! The only restaurant in the area is the Surf Club just past the market. Food is average- chicken fingers, fries, really its all fried, but perfect for kids. Foos ball table, puzzles, darts, and lots of Imperial kept mom, dad, and kids happy. The bartender makes the best salsa I've ever had. Buy some if he has some made! We have already put a request in to reserve this unit for next year. Can't wait to come back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we will certainly return to Villas Langosta. The condo was immaculate and there was lots of room for our family. My two sons surfed every day just down the beach and even walked into Tamarindo a day to surf. The pictures of the condo are exactly what you get when there. A howler monkey, iguanas, lizards and lots of birds came to visit us every day at the condo. We didn't even have to leave our patio to see the wildlife. Lola and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Other condo owners from the property were at their condos and were a wealth of information and very friendly. Thanks to Judy and Ed (condo owners) who took us hiking, gave us rides into town and recommended restaurants in town. They were awesome people! Walking along the beach to Tamarindo was great. The roads are very dusty! Could stop a the "fish bowl" and see all sorts of tropical fish, sea urchins, and star fish trapped until the tide came in. We met a young taxi driver, Victor, who was absolutely awesome. He took my kids surfing every day and was our taxi driver for the week. People are so friendly there. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an wonderful experience. This was a very nice villa to stay in. The pool was steps away. While sitting at the pool we saw iguanas and monkeys. The beach was just a few steps farther than the pool. There was plenty of room for our family of five in the villa. The office staff was very helpful in booking activities for us. The Pura Aventura Zip Line was so much fun and they picked us up at the villa. The town was walking distance but we drove every time because of the dusty roads. We would stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We weren't sure what to expect, but were thrilled with our find at Villas Langosta! The pictures were accurate and the complex with the 12 villas was carefully cared for with daily pool cleaning, daily groundskeeping, housekeeping and security. The staff in the management office were extremely helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this property and loved everything about it, especially the beautiful beach sunsets, monkeys and iguanas. We can't say enough about the wonderful unit and the great price. Thank you for our dream vacation!!! With the money we saved we were able to go zip lining, ride ATV's and take a sunset cruise/snorkeling trip. All highly recommended, go see Lola.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was our first time in Costa Rica and I must say, we couldn't have chosen a nicer more beautiful place to stay. We were there for Christmas and loved every minute of it. The condo itself is exactly as stated, even better as the flowers outside were in full bloom. The swimming pool was a few steps away and we had it to ourselves for the first few days. The office staff and security, were very helpful when we asked about day trips, sight seeing and in general, places to go. Bernie, one of the security guards even arranged a ride into town for us, when he saw us waiting for a bus. He was also extremely helpful in retrieving my daughter's camera, which she left in a cab, after he dropped us off. We had a BBQ at our disposal and enjoyed the little bit of cooking we did over the course of the week. The only thing I would say, is that a week is not long enough here. We will definitely be back here before too long. It's a great place to stay for a couple, families with small children, teenagers, young adults. A car is not essential, but is nice to have for a few days. Tamarindo is within walking distance about 2 km. Wear good shoes if you are walking as the road is a bit rocky. There is a small store across the road for limited groceries, which we found very useful. A beautiful place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was my first trip to Costa Rica and I'll definitely be going back and when in Tamarindo I will stay here. I was quite happy when we arrived at the condo, after a long day of travel. Sometimes the pictures you see on VRBO don't "totally" reflect the place you are staying. The owner's pictures depict precisely what you will see when you arrive at Villas Langosta. The one exception is the pool - it is actually closer to this condo (a good thing) and the unit has a beautiful patio to sit and relax. The pictures don't do either justice. The unit is well stocked with kitchen stuff (utensils, dishes, pots/pans and dish towels) and lots of towels in the bathrooms. BIG bonus was the ice maker in the fridge, because lots of cold water is a good thing. There are both fans and A/C units in the living room and bedrooms - so you can choose the level of cooling in the unit. We loved sitting on the patio or in the pool area and once our eyes were opened we saw all types of creatures - iguanas, white-throated magpie jays, kiskadees and a squirrel. We weren't lucky enough to see any howler monkeys although others had. The grounds are managed by a company and their staff (especially Lola) is very helpful - with arranging taxi services, tours and even a minor repair to one of our toilets (where a chain had come lose). The night guard introduced himself to us right away and on our last night called to wish us a safe trip home. It's approximately a 2 km walk into Tamarindo properly; however I have knee issues, so we used the "approved" taxi services (we used the same fellow the management company had arranged to pick us up at the airport and it's great to get to know them and use the same ones all the time) to get into town. For a total of $12 the service took us to the AutoMercado and waited while we shopped (about an hour). Its a flat $5 into town through these guys. Again, an excellent vacation and it was great to have something to come home to each day that felt like home. Many days we didn't leave the property. Most relaxed vacation in quite a while. Would definitely recommend.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This was our second year to stay at this property and we now consider it our home away from home. The locations is just minutes from downtown Tamarindo by car. There are a couple of small grocery stores very close. Out the back patio you walk about 50 yards to the beach. The grounds are well kept and have a night security watchman (Bernie). The condo itself is clean and well stocked. The kitchen has all the utensils you will need and the grill on the patio gets lots of use from us after we've been fishing. There are plenty of towels in the bathrooms, a washer and dryer and an Internet connection. You can even get wi-fi from the main office. You can even adopt a cat or two for the week! We'll definitely be going back. Pura Vida!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
