Just off a cobblestone street a mere 10 miles from the Puerto Vallarta Airport you will find a peaceful retreat in Paradise. Nestled under the coconut palms in a quaint Mexican neighborhood is Casitas Tres Palmas, a private owner-occupied home with two separate rental apartments, one of which is Casita Bucerias.
As you lie in a hand-made hammock by the cobalt blue tiled pool, lulled into dreamland by the sounds of a beautiful Talavera tile fountain, you will know you have arrived in Paradise. Watching the hummingbirds move from flower to flower in the tropical garden patio around the pool could be your idea of the perfect vacation. But there is so much more to do here.
Only two blocks away you will find miles of beaches on the Bay of Banderas. You can stroll for hours, picking up seashells, or lie on the beach catching the rays. Or maybe you will want to swim in the ocean where the waves are gentle and the pelicans soar overhead. You might decide to have dinner at one of the beachside restaurants like Karen's Place or Claudio's Meson Bay, and watch the gorgeous sunset over the mountains and the sea.
A three-block stroll away is Bucerias Centro, a lovely little Mexican village with a gazebo and a church in the main plaza. But just before you reach the plaza you will pass the artesans' market, where you will be dazzled by the array of colorful items before you. Here you will find silver, ceramics, hammocks, hand-embroidered clothing and so much more. Lovely young women will offer to braid your hair, or you can schedule a snorkeling trip or a sailing excursion on the bay.
When you decide to come back to your home away from home, you will find an apartment filled with locally made linens, ceramics and furniture. You can take a nap in air-conditioned comfort or make yourself a tropical drink in the blender to sip by the pool. Casita Bucerias, a large one-bedroom with living and dining room and a private, covered patio, offers an amazing array of amenities.
The casita offers a queen bed and a sofa bed(s), air conditioning, ceiling fans, cable TV and DVD player, wireless internet service, local telephone, small safe for valuables, complete kitchen with full-size refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, coffeemaker, blender, toaster oven and even hot and cold bottled water. No need to bring bulky towels for the beach and pool, as we have those available for your use. We also have a free washer and dryer onsite for your laundry needs. Every week, Rosi, our housekeeper will clean your room and change your bed linens. We can also pick you up from the airport or help you arrange a rental a car if you would like.
There is also a shared second-floor covered patio with large table and chairs and a hammock chair for relaxing with a book in the breezes. You might want to grill some fresh fish or shrimp on the charcoal barbecue grill available to our guests. Or, maybe you would want to play a hand of cards and watch the palm trees swaying in the wind. The hummingbirds feeding just inches away will offer yet another tantalizing diversion.

My stay in Casita Palmas at Tres Palmas was absolutely WONDERFUL!!! This is the most efficient efficiency I have ever stayed in . . . very roomy and bright with everything you would ever need - including a complete kitchen and large bathroom. I felt totally relaxed . . . with my own private garden patio or using the beautiful pool area while enjoying the blooming flowers, hummingbirds and gorgeous fountain. I could walk to the beach in 2 minutes or be in Centro in 5 . . . . with GREAT restaurants and shopping in between. Tres Palmas gives all the new luxuries, while retaining the flavor of this quaint "Old Mexico" village of Bucerias. I will be returning and next time with my husband!
