  We were extremely concerned after reading a review from (Brentwood family) about how filthy the condo was so I contacted Paradise Beach Vacations property management company since we had already made a deposit. They assured me that the condo would be clean and as advertised. I took a chance and am glad I did. The condo was clean and appeared just as pictured. I would give it a 5 star but because of some strange odor in the laundry room and a stopped up drain in the twin bedroom I lowered it to a 4 star. The drain was stopped up because of a bottle cap which my nephew removed. We never figured out what the strange odor was in the laundry room. Other than that it was great. Plenty of room and convenient to pier park. If you like to fish like myself the pier is a block away. All the appliances worked and lighting fixtures. No problems. Our stay was from Oct 8 - 15, 2011.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car.

  We were concerned that the last reviews were from 2008 but decided to book anyway due to the nice pictures and location to Pier Park. You can tell from the layout and furnishings that the positive feedbacks in 2007 and 2008 are probably accurate as it appears the unit was very nice at one point, but the below feedbacks from 2007 and 2008 do not accurately reflect the state of the unit today. When we arrived at the condo we were extremely disappointed to find that the pictures did not depict the current state of the unit. The description says “Beautiful” and “Five-Star rated Platinum Unit” – that description is very misleading. The showers were covered with black mold around the bottom, multiple lights were missing light bulbs or were burnt out (we had to go out and buy bulbs in order to use the lamps), the light in the master water closet flickered like a strobe light, the front door casing had been broken and patched poorly so that the child lock was not secure, there was a ladies swimsuit liner in a bed that had “clean sheets”, dust balls were on the floor in the corners in the kitchen and the carpet literally turned our feet black it was so filthy in each bedroom. It was so bad that we left after 36 hours and found a new place to stay – the only reason we did not leave sooner was because it was a Sunday and difficult to get a hold of other owners and rental companies. The property manager seemed very surprised by the email, phone conversation and pictures we sent detailing the state of the condo. Since the property is managed by a firm out of Memphis, TN one has to wonder how frequently the management company sees the unit vs. taking the word of the housekeeper that everything looks great and who has a vested interest in portraying a nice, clean unit to her boss, which the condo is not!

We truly wish you would've contacted us as soon as you arrived, August 6, 2011, we would've gladly addressed these issues and upgraded you to another condo. It was very unfortunate that we did not recieve any email, phone call, or pictures until that Friday which was August 12, 2011(6 days after your arrival date). I am truly sorry that your vacation was not as expected when you arrived. We have addressed all of the issues that you brought to our attention.   Very nice property. Great location-walking distance to the Pier Park with lots of great places to eat. Elevators a little slow-but it was 4th of July week. Great fireworks!!!!

  Beautiful place run by beautiful people who take care of their rentors. We were there for over 2 months and hated to leave.

  We stayed in this unit in May 2007 on our family vacation.(family of 11) The condo is beautiful and comfortable and has a wonderful view. We could not have asked for anything nicer! None of us wanted to leave. Dealing with the owner was a great experience. She took care of everything. We hope to be able to stay in this condo every year!!

  We stayed in this unit on our 2007, two-week vacation. Everything was perfect; the condo, the weather and dealing with the owner was a very positive experience. We were extremely well taken care of and our every need was met. I would highly recommend this unit and the Calypso.

  This condo is wonderful! We had horrible weather when we were their and had to stay in the condo more than usual. Im so thankful we had this one to stay in! You will not go wrong with this condo!

  We just returned home today and I miss the condo already! It was by far the nicest condo we've ever stayed in. We absolutely loved it. The beach was gorgeous. I can't wait to vacation here again. Our rental experience was extremely positive.

  Fabulous condo!! Tommy Bahama furniture package really makes condo luxurious. Weather was super and beach is magnificent. Will definately come back.
